These 5 artifacts might be just like the scepter cycle in conflus which was in esper colors, but now that the shards have merged in other colors there would be artifacts in other colors as well with abilities unique to each merged shards
#1 - What's the dumbest idea you ever had?

#1 - DAMN IT MAN, I SAID DUMB!! DUMB !!!
#2 - It destroys everything when it attacks.... And wait, I have a friend who plays mill decks... I want to beat him too.
#1 - Excellent! Recess is over, go back and learn sex-ed with the other 6th graders.
I say more like
Firewild Borderpost 3
Artifact
:add :symg:, :symr:, or to your mana pool.
Aside from the whole gold part(as said above me), 4 mana of any kind from a source without a drawback is too powerful. Gilded Lotus was powerful as is, and that costs 2 more for producing 1 less mana. Infinite mana combo would be too easy(i.e. Filigree Sages). I'd like something more like a filter land:
Fieldmist Borderpost 1GW
Artifact
:add :symg::symw:, :symg::symb:, or :symw::symb: to your mana pool.
While amazing in art I am very, very saddened to see them as allied pairs. I was hoping to see enemy tricolor anything when I first looked and then it clicked... so far the set is to looking to be all multicolor allies...
Seems pretty clear these are allied. Especially with the info we have so far.
Can these be enchantments? Is that a stretch?
Well, we know they have to be multicolored. If they're just allied, we know that they don't just tap for an allied color because that would totally defeat the point of fixing. I guess they could do it like that Conflux elf, though, and make them accel instead of fix.
As for being enchantments, sure it's possible. I just don't see any reason for them to be. Big lumps of rock are pretty much always artifacts or lands.

They'll save that for another expansion down the road.

WoTC, thank you for finally announcing the Modern format, an eternal format where everyone can participate.

I doubt it. A septer is something you weild and use to your advantage. A borderpost sounds like something inbetween land. So it seems to more sugest mana fixing. So it would be more likely for it to be an artifact or land.
They'll save that for another expansion down the road.
Yeah but if the set is ALL multicolor and just multicolor allies then it seems, well... kinda boring... yeah all gold but other then that it just seems less exciting then before. I'd at least like there be be somesort of tri enemy or dual enemy cards for flavor's sake.

This is a very good point. Why would you pay BR for an artifact that lets you tap for B or R? That doesn't give you access to any different colors than what you already have to cast it.
If it's allied colors bringing their other allied colors in, that makes sense. tap for U,B,R, or G or 2 and tap add any combination of....

I'm guessing multicolored artifacts.

a small sentence for you to read while you ignore my post.
Maybe the effect is land fetch...
They just look too much like the obelisks to not be some kind of manafixing.
What other kind of effect fit the art/cycle?

So Mana fixing at 2 colors, it defeats the purpose of mana fixing itself, unless they produce colors other than the one used to cast them... But still you have a point that the art themselves predict that they are simiilar to the mana fixing obelisks in SoA...

...It is almost like noone ever reads anything in the rumor mill anymore.
All of the cards in Alara Reborn are Multicolored.
These are arts of markers, which are objects. They are not lands, and shouldn't be lands because lands (except ones that are creatures) do not and should not have colors.

I still don't see how they are going to pull off colored artifacts that fix mana. It seems completely counter intuitive to do such a thing. Maybe some type of alternate cost? I just hope they don't tack on landcycling.
Also, having colored artifacts that aren't infused with etherium makes my inner Vorthos cry.

The art looks very nice. Obviously a cycle and obviously something to do with mana fixing. Either allied color mana fixing(going by art and name) or dual shard mana fixing(going by art). Either way it has to be multicolor and there are many different ways I can think of actualizing this:
1. The colored artifacts are now in all colors- simple and something along the lines of Mistvein Borderpost UB Artifact T: add W, U, B or R to your mana pool. would be solid and easily doable.
2. The aura option- a Fertile Ground style card for each color again likely costing 2 and adding your choice of 4 colors. This is possible but less than the artifacts.
3. The sorcery(or less likely instant) option- a Rampant Growth style card for each color again costing 2 and fetching 1 of the 4 lands. This is less probable than the aura option because the art definitely leads more towards the permanent option.
4. The creature option- a cycle of mana creatures, however this is likely impossible with the art and names.
5. The equipment(or fortification) option- similiar to the artifact option but on an equipment or fortification and likely with a 0 cost equip/fortify cost. This is possible but it seems much less likely than either the aura or normal artifact options.
Of course this is based on the joined shard idea, if it was just allied colors something more like Metallix87's suggestion is more likely because greater acceleration is an easy alternate to better fixing.

Except for very specific corner cases, lands aren't colored.

Mistvein Borderpost UB
Artifact
T: Add U or B to your mana pool.
[Perhaps another ability? Probably not]
That seems far too weak. I think it should tap for two mana in order to make up for the fact that it costs two different colored mana.

Machius proudly supports R_E's right to Rumour!
What if they were:
Veinfire Borderpost
Anti-WAnti-WAnti-W

B U G or R May be spent to pay for Anti-W
tap: Add RG to your mana pool.
(or something like this
Mistvein Borderpost UB

t: Add W,U,B, or R to your mana pool.
If it is a mana producing artifact, I think this will be it.
