Who cares about playing enchantments; this is a force even without any auras.
4 Troll Ascetic, 3-4 Uril, 3 Loxodon Warhammer and you have a nice start for a deck. 4 BOPs and 4 Noble Hierarchs should probably be there as well.
JFC, a fatty I can't Deathmark?! I'm actually quite scared of the effect this badass will have in Type 2. What a solid dude. What an answer to "this block has the best spot removal since who knows when".
Reborn is shaping up to be the best 3rd set I can remember - ever. I can't tell you how excited I am, I'm about to preorder a box.
Anyway, this becomes another possible "Must be Thought Hemorrhaged" thing for Jund decks who can't just "splash" Wrath. There are far too many of those going around...
I'm so excited!

I'll admit it, I always liked auras. When I was a noob, I didn't quite understand the idea that they set up a position for card disadvantage. Of course, I eventually got it. But lately, wizards have been finding interesting was to make playing auras more palatable, and I like it.
Onto this guy. He's solid. The lack of evasion is a bit bothersome in an expensive creature, but in the right deck, it won't be a big issue. I'm literally uncertain if he will make a big splash in competitive magic, but he will be very fun for casual enthusiasts.
The art is fantastic. Subtle. It feels like something that I would see in coldsnap, and it has an evocative feel that defines this mysterious legend well.
Omg... with the already mentioned Shield of the Oversoul, this guy has supershroud + indestructibility. Totally unanswerable. Not to mention it's a 9/9 flier.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.

To everyone saying he's unanswerable, I think I just might start playing Hallowed Burial to prove you wrong.
On topic, why must the mythic card actually be good? Sigh.
Pretty horrible. The casting cost, not the card. The card is not horrible, just bad.
In those colors, having the best available weenies in the game and all, why would one want to cast a 5/5 for 5 mana and then cast additional auras on it just to give it some evasion and boost? Not me for sure.

I think I might give this guy a go in my Naya deck. I like him for just the can't be the target ability. I think this guy will smash face even without aura's to compliment him.

hallowed burial is currently only used in planeswalkers (yay more *** effects). If you're playing wrath effects you will normally play *** first and then throw hollowed & martial coup on top of that if needed, but you play wrath for the weenies. As such, hallowed burial isn't the best of answers currently (it's sadly close though).
With this beasty out there, this set probably has some decent sack effects to go along with it, so we'll probably find an answer to Uril there.
Probably the best card against it right now is Runed Halo. gives them a pretty big blocker, but unless they have the enchantment removal halo will hold off the big beasty for days turns on end (and can always be used against other nasty's as well, yay naming trifecta - halo, mage, and needle).

Have you seen the insanity which is targetted removal in standard at the moment, Path to Exile is in almost every deck as well as things like Oblivion Ring, Unmake, Bant Charm and the fallbacks of Terror and Shriekmaw(not to mention Celestrial Purge and Deathmark) and now we've also got Terminate and Maelstrom Pulse. Shroud and in this case super shroud is invaluable at the moment.
Child of Troll Ascetic and Thran Golem, or big fat brother of Silhana Ledgewalker sans the evasion. A one-off in a control deck or 3x in a casual deck is what it can be. Shield of the oversoul combo is, of course/surely/certainly, ridiculous:D.
I would like him to be a little cheaper, with less p/t (3/3 maybe or 5/1 for "5 power matters theme"), keep the supershroud and the ability.
Now they just have to print rancor again. Was there an aura for 5 that gave trample and doublestrike or am I wrong? ok ok, I found it: Runes of the Deus!

Hard to decide if it's troll-shroud on a legendary creature is good enough to play auras that are (almost) always bad plays (aside from Shield of the Oversoul)...
Doesn't feel that mythic to me...
The ultimate Timmy dream of Shroud + Indestructible fat is alive in this card. That is where the Mythic nature lies. The fact that it combos so well with Shield of the Oversoul is basically the most exciting Timmy thing ever. This is a jaw-dropper, and if you don't like it you can probably make some mad trades with it at the prerelease to the guys who think it's the best thing since sliced bread.
I know I'm going to build an Uril + Auras deck. After I get my Shield on him, I'm going to put a Pariah on him or something. Then I just need Runes of the Deus. It isn't about winning a tournament, it's about telling that story.

To those who ask why this card is mythic rare it's because this card is the first ever LEGENDARY BEAST that is going to be printed on a card in magic... ^^
5 mana for a 5/5? And it's multicolor? Come on Wizards, you should be able to do better than that. This card is blah. I don't care how many removal spells there are in standard. Having a 5/5 vanilla that will stay on the field has never been much of a win/lose deciding factor. Something for 5 mana, I expect to progress the game.

Boy, if Naya Aggro becomes a top deck in Block and post-rotation Standard, I pity the people that build it. It's going to be more expensive than Planeswalkers.dec at this rate. This makes what, 3-4 playable 5-power rare+ so far this set?
Drop a Shield of the Oversoul on this and it's basically GG, you win the game unless they have a Platinum Angel you can't deal with or a sacrifice effect.
That alone makes it cool, but the ability to have a Shield of the Oversoul attached to it and become an indestructible 9/9 enemy-shrouded flier is just badass.
Of course, it can also mount Runes of the Deus and become a 9/9 trampling doublestriker O.o;; Hope they have a Wrath effect...
Oh, and yeah, I am definitely buying a box or two if I have the money. Damn.

I think people are seeing the triple mana and colorless symbol and just assuming it costs a lot. We're talking about 5 mana, people. This card is great, a game-ender in Standard for sure.
And the artwork reminds me of why I got into MTG to begin with.
