Wow, so, Gwafa equals toiletpaper officially. Damn that card is bad, that's been said, move along.

hey i have managed to evolve my axolotls by feeding them thyroid glands the thyroxine contained in these gland is enough to change these water dwelling creatures into land based creatures

Tay, that's not evolution. It's metamorphosis. Evolution means descent with heritable modification – individuals cannot evolve, unless they're Pokemon.

I'm still holding out hope that the wording is just wrong, and it's an effect that works like Aquitect's Will.
The formatting might matter here... If it's formatted as:
Rather than:
Then the pacifism would be a permanent effect of the activated ability, rather than a static ability that Gwafa has in addition to the activated ability.
That wording would be better, but have memory issues when Hazid leaves play.
It should have been mythic, considering Wizards' stance on legendary stuff. Either it is indeed mythic, and we are misinformed; or... he isn't epic enough? Then again, how epic was Mayael?
Holy crap! Cliffrunner comes in with two of the best RW creatures of all tme: FoD and Wolly Thoctar. T2 Thoctar, T3 Cliffrunner is just wrong. Or playing him after spending time pumping the Figure just puts all that much more pressure on the opponent.
T1 Land, Figure of Destiny.
T2 Land, pump Figure, swing for 2.
T3 Land, pump Figure, swing for 4.
T4 Land, Cliffrunner Behemoth, swing for 9, gain five life.
T5 Land if needed, swing for 9, gain five life, burn opponent out.
In both of those situations, you play very little in the way of creatures to the board (Three in the Thoctar situation, two in the Figure situation) so there's no overextension to worry about. Also only playing two or three creatures out gives you a handful of spells to brun the opponent out with, or to rebuild after a Wrath.
Wow a turn 3-4 play to the Turn 4-5 Realmrazing decks... neat. =|
Gwafa is hella interesting though. Maralen anyone?
I'm liking it's flavor! I think i can run a pretty cheap field ctrl with this.

Skill is an ability that relates more so to the type of deck that's built and how said player pilots it. It also relates to the ability to assess the board and use the cards available to you in the most optimal way relative to each situation.
When a deck is filled with above par cards and every play is solid, there comes a diminishing need to "think" for the lack of wanting to use a better word.

I totally thought of Maralen of Moonsong when I saw Gwafa. It sucks that such a cool design is pidgeonholed into something like Maralen, but I don't see it being any use otherwise. It seems interesting that they would throw a one-of type of counter into a set like this. I remember reading a Wizards article a while ago how they love to keep all counters the same in a set (like -1/-1 or +1/+1, charge counters, etc.).
I think the Behemoth is quiet good with constructed potential for sure. 5/3 for 4 is already rather good (nothing special these days though) but if you can manage to give him the other abilities regularly its super efficient. Haste is one of those abilites that can make creatures playabble, cause that can dodge removal for at least a turn. It has 5 power which is also nice and lastly, 10 Point lifeswing...impressive.
The behemoth is obviously a monster in limited. It might also find a home in some constructed deck, mainly due to the 5/3 body. It was about time they got some green fatty an aggressive P/T.
The legend is laughable. So bad.

Gwafa Hazid does not impress me at all. There are so many other ways to solve an opponent's threat besides letting them draw a card. It could be useful in limited, but there is a good selection of removal that could deal with it.
Clifrunner Behemoth will be totally nuts in limited.... and then off to the trade binder it will go.
Cliffrunner Behemoth - 3G
Creature - Rhino Beast (R)
Cliffrunner Behemoth has haste as long as you control a red permanent.
Cliffrunner Behemoth has lifelink as long as you control a white permanent.
5/3
Gwafa Hazid, Profiteer - 1WU
Legendary Creature - Human Rogue (R) WU,T: Put a Bribery counter on target creature you don't control, then its controller draw a card.
Creature with Bribery counters on it cannot attack or block.
2/2.
controlled... aurification... i prefer aurification i think... if only for the reason that this "kills itself" when it allows the opponent to draw the answer to this card
Problem with Maralen is they'll just tutor up a kill spell. More than likely Firespout.
I LOVE Maralen, but she has only ever been cool in EDH. Especially when someone Wheel of Fortunes while she is out.
Drawing a card is too much of a draw back for a pacifism effect that goes away if Gwafa dies. This is definitely going to be a $0.50 rare. Cool card though and great flavor. Someone's going to play with it just for kicks.

Honestly, couldn't they have thrown us a bone and made this a little better? Imagine how much more playable it'd be if it was a 3/4, or even a 2/3.

I really hope your right. A new line makes all the difference with this one. if the ability was static the wayAquitect's Will. I would probably play it.
Though we are gona have to wait for the scan of that one to find out.

RIght now a I see it, the power and Toughness is not the issue. The fact that this thing is able to drop on Turn 3 and start shutting out Aggro. This is what U/W control needs as well as Mill. Just make sure you have a few U/W lieges on hand for the Burn players.

For the Love of God play Wrath already!!!...... What your playing green Well then Play.......
The wording on Gwafa seems really off...
It doesn't specifically state when your opponent draws a card and it doesn't state whether or not the Bribed creature(s) can attack or block when Gwafa leaves play.
When this is cleared up, I think people may change their mind on Hazid.

the behemoth is good with or without other permanants, without them its a juggernaught that exchanges 1 toughness for not having to attack every turn, which was banned for power at one point. with haste it is really good, but lifelink could make it incredible, and with volcanic fallout, i see less play of firespout.
btw, the rule sheet in Conflux pack states "Conflux is so amazing that it has a whooping number of 6 cards w/ WUBRG as casting cost/alt cost while there're only 23 ever printed in the MTG history."
Quite ironic, huh?.
Actually Conflux is my favorite set in a long time. Remember not everyone loves/hates every set.
I like the Naya dude... he's pretty effective for the casting cost, as there are good cheap early drops that can promise he'll hit hard. I actually like him better than the Ooze as far as this "cycle" goes.
The 3/1 token is 100% fine. Lorwyn's elemental token didn't have haste printed on it despite Hostility making them with haste. I tinnk they're trying to make common tokens like that more generic. Some 3/1 red elementals in Magic don't have haste.
That Behemoth is obviously very strong. Yes, it dies to practically everything, (in constructed) but just one swing with it should be worth it if that's all you get. 5/3, lifelink, haste is crazy for 4.
The source clearly stated that Rakka Mar is a rare - "WTF it's not a M but a R" is what he said. I'd assume that case also applies here .
