Progentius falls into the amusing catagory, not the broken one. Big and amusing if you get him into play, but still a pain in the butt to get into play.
Except that you can play birds and elves and the exalted birds, bringing the count of that card to twelve. Depending on how consistant the mana is there are a number of counterspells to use. Manamorphose isn't nessecarry, it just let's you play with a 56 card deck. In a properly designed deck it's a 2 or three card combo.
I think it is possible there will be some sort of herald effect for Progenitus, like possibly sacrifice one creature of every color. They did it for the shard mythics in ALA, I could see ti happening for this guy in CON
Better hope no one has a Martial Coup waiting for ya in a draft.
Good stuff none the less. Ramp should definitely be coming back.
Ramp is here, doing quite well, and better after Conflux, and would never use this card.
I think you are talking about 'Optimus Prime', the deck that's sole aim is to cheat out fat quickly with Dramatic Entrance, then maybe that will become popular again. (For people that expect goldfish perfect world games to happen 100 percent of the time) Until hand disruption and counters ruins its day forever.

ProgenitusWWUUBBRRGG Legendary Creature - ??? (MR)
Protection from [how would this be worded]
When Progenitus is put into a graveyard from anywhere, shuffle it into its owner's library. (Would this be a Darksteel Colossus/Dread-style effect?)
10/10
Things in italics I am trying to garner. Anyway...
Is there a way we respond to the trigger? Like discard it with Wild Mongrel and then while it is still in the graveyard, play Makeshift Mannequin and target it.. will it still get shuffled into the library? Or will that ability fizzle since it isn't in the grave anymore?
This protection from everything. The card on the spoiler says protection from everything including damage.
So, if I play Starstorm, where x is 10, it will take no damage. But what about wrath of God?
More importantly, what about cards that have each creature getting -X/-X? Does Meishin, the Mind Cage have any effect on it? If it can take no damage from a Starstorm, why should it get -x/-x from any card? Does an expensive Bane of the Living have any effect?
What about cards that put counters on creatures? Does it have protection from counters? Will a Aku Djinn affect it? What about Ashling's Prerogative?
Ramp is here, doing quite well, and better after Conflux, and would never use this card.

I'm 13-1-1 in swiss with Jund Ramp at my fnm (40 players usually.) With Conflux allowing a better faeries matchup, it will be better and you are correct in asserting playing this in the deck is bat crap retarded.
Playablity: C (this might be the most prohibitive mana cost ever) Coolness A+ (One of a kind coolness; the timmy inside me is having a joygasm

Except that it is possible to have a permanent without a card type. "Protection from everything" is more elegant.
It would only be possible if Wizards created a card specifically to do that. "Protection from everything," is cheekier, and will only serve to confuse players like our poor friend, xevioso:

It depends on whether or not it is a replacement effect. Take these into consideration;
1) Replacement effect (never hits the graveyard): Progenitus :symw::symw::symu::symu::symb::symb::symr::symr::symg::symg: Legendary Creature - ??? (MR)
Protection from Everything If Progenitus would be put into a graveyard from anywhere, shuffle it into its owner's library instead.
10/10
2) Triggered effect (goes to grave, trigger goes on stack): Progenitus :symw::symw::symu::symu::symb::symb::symr::symr::symg::symg: Legendary Creature - ??? (MR)
Protection from Everything
When Progenitus is put into a graveyard from anywhere, shuffle it into its owner's library.
10/10
Definately casual.

It would only be possible if Wizards created a card specifically to do that. "Protection from everything," is cheekier, and will only serve to confuse players like our poor friend, xevioso:
If people don't understand how protection works, even with reminder text on the card, and it being explained many times on the thread, there is nothing WoTC can do for them.
Mass untargeted removal kills this. Why? Because it doesn't deal damage or target. If the card doesn't say target creature or deals on it, then stuff happens to the biggun.
The orb says everything = 1.
The only other card that has the word everything in it is I'm Rubber, You're Glue. The card says 'Protection from everything'.
The implications of the protection have been discussed more than enough on this thread already. If you have a question, posts have already answered it. Read the thread.
People posting who are still confused as to how this would work, will find their posts deleted or moderated.
It has protection from everything because if it didn't it could still be chumped by things like tokens which would really suck. Also, Wrath and Meishin still work on it since they're global effects. Protection is damage, enchantment, blocking, target. That's why things like star storm wouldn't kill it. Moonlacing an earthquake wouldn't either like someone said earlier.
Worst whiff ever:
<Insert name of the card that checks top five for 5+ power> goes searching top five for five power plus at opponent's eot. Untap. Upkeep. Draw. Progenitis. Play land nine. Pass turn.
Opponet: Realm Razor?
I think it's funny that once the orb came along it was a fair guess that the 10/10 and 10 CMC item were going to be the same card, and pretty clear it would likely be this big bad legend Hydra that is so important to the storyline. It's also fairly clear that the said creature was likely to be assumed far worse than it turned out to be (because lets face it, "Protection from Everything" is pretty over the top)... yet so much grumbling. It's a bit depressing. I think it's also funny that quite a few of the "high quality Spike cards" that have been lauded over the last few spoiler seasons have turned out being in very few decks (Susher, Tattermung Maniac) and cards only enjoyed by people "who don't know what they are talking about" end up played (Oona, Reagal Force).
My point is, "fun" cards sometimes can make a difference. Spoiler season does not seal graves.
Time to cheat this baby (progenitus) into casual play with Jhoira of the Ghitu. I also wonder if a Rosheen Meander deck could be built now with Apocalypse Hydra and that other XG creature.
This protection from everything. The card on the spoiler says protection from everything including damage.

All of those cards work on it because its not targeted. Protection from just means it can't be targeted by a specific color or can't be equiped with artifacts like I couldn't Terminate since it has pro-everything but I could do any *** affect to get rid of it since its not indestructible.
It would only be possible if Wizards created a card specifically to do that. "Protection from everything," is cheekier, and will only serve to confuse players like our poor friend, xevioso:
The problem is not in the word "everything" but in the word "protection"; noobs having been asking if "black knight will be killed by wrath of god" sense the game's inception. It's kind of annoying if you ask me. Before you ask about whether protection saves something from a perticular card ability, how about these people ****ing learn what protection actually does first. Here is a handy dandy little acronym to help them out:
If a source has protection from a given charcteristic it can't be DABTed or:
Damaged- Prevent all damgage to all creatures, players and planeswalkers that are protected from any source that has any characteristic that those objects are protected from. Attached- If an object with the given characteristic would equip or enchant the protected object and it gains protection in the mean time, it unattaches the next time state based effects are checked, problebly killing any unattached enchantment in the process unless the echanting or equipping object says otherwise. Blocked-things with protection cannot be blocked by creatures they that have any charicteristic they are protected from. Targeted- Players cannot choose protected objects as the target for any spells or ablilities that have any characteristic that that object is protected from. If a target of a spell or abilty gains protection from a characteristic that the spell or ability has before the spell or ability resolves, that spell or ablity is countered becuase it no longer has a legal target.
Nowhere in any of that does it metion effects that destroy or otherwise put an object in another zone of play without targeting the object (like wrath of god or final judgment or ghostway) or effects that reduce a creature's toughness to zero or less with out targeting (Like infest or mutilate or soul snuffers). Starstorm and similareffects however; deal damage, and unless damage cannot be prevented for some reason, protection will save your creatures from those effects. SHEESH!
