Sphinx Summoner :3mana::symu::symb:
Artifact Creature - Sphinx (Rare)
Flying
When Sphinx Summoner comes into play, you may search your library for an artifact card, reveal it, and put it into your hand. If you do, shuffle your library.
3/3
If I could think of a terrifying artifact to grab with it, and it was a 4/4 flyer, I'd use it. But I can't think of any artifacts that are that much of a bomb in standard (Ethersworn Canonist is good but not so much in Type 2 right now).
I don't have any hard numbers on this, but I'm targeted more often than a black guy driving a beat-up sedan with a broken tail-light and no license plate, and Cy's well aware of that.
A Fabricate on wings. Yawn. Problem with this card though is its balanced as it is. 4/4 would make it a little too good and 2UB would make it a little too good as well.
No, I'm counting him. There should be ten mythics, and we only have nine:-
Mirror-Sigil Sergeant
Ethersworn Adjudicator
Thornling
Child of Alara
Conflux
Maelstrom Archangel
Malfegor
Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker
Progenitus
I count 36 rares, too, when there should be 35.
Apocalypse Hydra is the missing Mythic. If you look on the wizards site, you'll see he's a mythic, not a rare. I know salvation had him as a rare for a while, not sure if that's changed yet. But that's the mix-up.
I was looking more closely at the spoiler for this card and it reads:

Is that true? Searching for Artifact Creatures is a LOT worse than searching for any artifact. Do we have any confirmation on the wording on her?

Its on the FAQ. Confirmed.
In standard this isn't a big hindrance to the card IMO, but in other formats, for sure.

Oh how one word can make me so sad. I was hoping to throw this into my cube, but now it looks like it is going to be marginal at best since Fabricate deosn't even make the cut...

well, im depressed. I think this is a huge deal for standard, actually, as Summoner + Transmuter was a great engine for toolbox options and might have made a great new archetype. As is, its still somewhat possible, but not being able to get a Pithing Needle or Sculpting Steel or Thousand Year Elixir or Cauldron of Souls or whatever weird bullets you needed to Transmute into play to get an edge is gone. Running one sharrum and one Sculpting Steel in the deck could have created a searchable loop before, now not. Still pretty potent since it can fetch Sharuum and Transmuter and Grim Poppet etc, and doing that every turn with Transmuter would still be great card advantage, but the dip in versatility I think makes the deck idea much less potent, and thus likely much less viable... /cry
Why are all of you clamoring about Summoner + Transmutor anyways? A single Shock, and your plan fails, not to mention that's not the best you could do with 4 and 5 drops. I like him because of his Esperzoa and Sharuum interactions.
with transmuter hes a one drop, not a 5 drop. with flash. and lots of good critters die to shock. What if you had a canonist in play and some counter mana up? bounce away, and bury your opponent in card advantage. A few activations should be all it takes to pull FAR ahead...whats NOT to understand about the appeal, really? And that type of effect has been broken in the past...I don't get why people are so hostile to the idea that it might be good. Steven M even agreed on manadrain that its good enough for possible vintage play consideration in workshop even if it never actually finds its niche.
but the summoner not getting utility artifacts certainly dulls my excitement about the interaction of the two...

Who's Steven M? And what has been the highest-costed 2-toughness creature you've seen in standard? And of those, how about with a power less than 2, now? By my count, there's 2-drop for both, but you can prove me wrong if you know something I don't.
And about the Canonist... that's been out for months now, still doesn't have any applications. Unless, again, you know something proven that I don't.
How to you get the CIPT triger to resolve in between putting the first sharuum into the graveyard, and putting the second sharuum into graveyard?
He doesn't need to.
I don't know what CitP trigger you're referring to, though.
For the one that's added for "going infinite", he just stacks it above all Sharuum abilities each time any Sharuum comes into play. Then this trigger resolves first.

The last mythic should be Ethersworn Adjudicator.
Let this great clan rest in peace (2001-2011)
Tidehollow Sculler seems like a pretty good target for this, or maybe Executioner's Capsule. This card is also yet another artifact creature with a cip ability. Esperzoa and Master Transmuter are gonna be crazy good.
9th place Maryland 2009's
UUU Azami, Lady of Scrolls
RRR Diaochan, Artful Beauty
UR(U/R) Tibor, Lumia, & Melek (WIP)
Mafia Stats
Again, yawn.
