Check out the 7 minute special podcast of The Magic Sock. Wizards of the Coast sent me an exclusive preview card from Conflux to share with the Magic community.
Knight of the Reliquary1GW
Creature - Human Knight (Rare)
Knight of the Reliquary gets +1/+1 for each land card in your graveyard.
:symtap:, Sacrifice a Forest or Plains: Search your library for a land card, put it into play, then
shuffle your library.

That's a pretty neat design. Maybe she and Countryside Crusher could form a tag-team in some RGW deck.
Wait a minute. Sac a little old Forest or Plains, and get whatever land you want? Untapped? Daaaaamn. Gotta get me a playset.
And Michael Komarck is quickly becoming my favorite new artist.

Several years ago, WotC apparently surveyed Magic players across the globe. They found that people liked turning things sideways, and hated LD. This is the result:
This seems like a very good card for older formats. I will look for some stripmines or whatever broken land I want to, thank you very much. Notice how it doesnt say basic or comes into play tapped or the land needs to be untapped. You could sac a tapped forest and get another one and pump out that spell that needed just one more land. Or you could be tapped out and on their turn sac a plains, get another one then path to exile a creature. Ninja Land!
It's like Terravore only somewhere weaker, somewhere sicker. Sure, it counts only lands in your graveyard, not in all, but it searches for land! For any land, not just usual basic and it puts it into play untapped! Temple of False God spam? Sure. Treetop Village rush? Yessir. Total Rishadan Port lock? Yeah, baby. And with works with shocklands & original duals too. Once you've "stabilized" your mana-base it works as a beater perfectly. No trample, but still. Great card.
YAUS. I pumped the fist when I saw the img. If any of the three remaining unknown rares are any blatantly good for Standard, this will be the best set in... well, since Lorwyn, I guess. But I hold the Lorwyn bar really high!
As for the card itself, it turns Forests into Treetop Villages by tapping? And it GROWS? Terravore meets Crop Rotation? WIN.
Also this "spoiled card" is in no way related to the definition of the term "reliquary". Reliquary tower makes sense, but this ability? This combined with the render makes me doubt it.
-Corners are jagged
-Pixelation in the internal border-border
-Art is also pizelated
-Expansion Symbol is waay to gradiated and jagged
-Font isn't quite right
I posted the text of the card to help people out. As for the bad quality image, Wizards sends me PDFs of the cards and I took the largest snapshot of the PDF I could so that I could make it easier on people to see a .jpg rather than to download and open a PDF (which takes a heck of a lot longer). You can see the PDFs of some of the other Conflux cards I was given. Just look under the Knight of the Reliquary link and you'll see links for:
I really like this as a three drop alongside the wrox war monk in the bant decks. This creature turn 2 to power out a 5cmc card turn 3 is good if you didnt get the war monk in your first hand. Late game if you have burned through a few of them they will be big beefy creature that would probably be a 7/7 for 3 mana late game. And blocking with it you could be tech also. Declare as blocker, before damage, tap-sac land-play land, instant +1/+1.

I really like this card, not so great in standard but in older formats with fetch lands it comes out as a pretty huge creature and its search ability can fetch any broken land you want it to(and better still it doesn't come into play tapped). In standard only Terramorphic Expanse and Quicksand are easy to put in your graveyard and there's no land particularly worth searching for, but it still might be decent to help fix mana and make the domain. In limited it's a great card which is sure to help with mana fixing.
Considering what the Knights do in Bant, I would have guessed she gets +1/+1 for each land AND +1/+1 for each artifact... but as is she's pretty cool. I like that Elspeth actually has something to say!
She does have a crazy ability though... I'll sac this Plains to get a Reflecting Pool? Treetop Village?

That's a bit odd, I would have expected a domain type of ability. So it counts all basic land types in the graveyard. The way it's worded now it is very easy to abuse with Panorama's, Terramorphic Expanse and such. Not counting extended lands.
In today's MaRo column, he is hinting at a green/white domain spell, which is eating something. Could this be it?
I wanted Knight of the Reliquary to be good and it is, but no Exalted, No pro black. Not what i was hoping for. But still, awsome picture, Powerfull effect, possibly usable in my knight deck. Definately not the worst. At least it's no Jhessian Outrider
If i can get my hands on afew of these, I may want to see if i can get afew more Ruins of Trokair too. Hmm. 4th turn, play ruins of trokair, tap for mana, use the knights effect, sac ruins of trokair, get a plains from the sacked trokair and another land all untapped so that would be....6 possible mana floating. Interesting.
I hope I don't see too many people playing this card in nasty depressing combos. That would really be a downer to see a card representing a noble knight being used for ignoble combos.
PS: Another amazing artwork for Michael Komark! I love that he's doing so much Bant art. He is my favorite artist and does Knightly art so very perfectly.
Mana accel, self pumper, mana fixer, deck thinner and so on. It is quite good with Karoos.
[edit]OHH, another card for EDH with Thawing Glaciers (fetch a forest/plains (off glaciers), tap this, find a karoo land, return glaciers, replay glaciers=2 more lands each turn (efficently anyway))

Oh, you and your ideals and notions of nobility and honour. This card was made to be abused. I guess I'll build a huge deck out of it with, say, Zuran Orb, for instance. Bahahahaha.

[I was permabanned and all I got to show for it was .... well, nothing.]
This guy will be awesome in decks using small CMCs, once you get to like 5 mana or so you can start to pop lands to search for more. making him bigger and thinning deck. seems good. This guy could make Terramorphic Expanse look pretty good.

Amazing design, amazing art and flavor text. I really like this card. The fact that it can thin your deck, find you ANY land, not just basic, and pump itself permanently by a SINGLE tap is great. Thank you for sharing!

Self-pumping and deck thinning... as well as a potential mana producer that can search any kind of land you need? This card is absolutely nuts.
In Extended it can likely be a 4/4 by the time it hits the table from the use fetchlands and from then on it can grow itself while thinning your deck or get into the red zone for some solid damage.
In Standard, it'll be a bit slower unless you want to run Terramorphic Expanse but fetching out manlands seems pretty outstanding. If the Shocklands are reprinted in 11th the value of it just goes up.
And in Limited it is a 3 drop that continually grows while providing mana fixing, exceleration and deck thinning. In Shards Limited, you might as well call this card Link since it definately rocks the Triforce.
LIMITED BOMB.
deck thin to the max + excellent fixing for those 5color.dec that everyone will be drafting. if you're not doing the 5color, fine, this says "draw gas for rest of game."

Naw. What're they gonna do, attack with it? Ajani doesn't think so!
Sorry about that, then! And I do so hate calling fake...
Anyway, I really like the flavor text and art. Freaking awesome.

Wow. Combine this with Crucible of Worlds, Exploration/Fastbond, and Strip Mine and you have a near gurantee of killing off all your opponents land quickly! Nice card.
