I highly doubt this is the last card spoiled it might be the last one zesty has access to.
I think I can only remember 1-2 occasions where we only had 95% or so of the set when the pre-release happened. I've been watching rumor mill season since like Urzas Destiny that was back on MTGnews though.
really? haven't we gone 100% in the past few sets just hours before prerel?
i even remember that english dude who cracked a box and got into trouble. psybite?
anyway, i most truly doubt they lack access to all the cards.
what i do secretly hope for is that more PMs come along our member's way for spoilers
So you sacrifice this for I don't know, floot some mana, reanimate your most beloved creature from your graveyard and kick you opponent to death. Nice.

hey i have managed to evolve my axolotls by feeding them thyroid glands the thyroxine contained in these gland is enough to change these water dwelling creatures into land based creatures

Tay, that's not evolution. It's metamorphosis. Evolution means descent with heritable modification – individuals cannot evolve, unless they're Pokemon.

That's to say nothing of spoilers we get from people all over the world opening boxes/packs early and giving us info, previews given by Wizards to other sites, etc. For as long as I have known about this site, we have never failed to have 100% of the set spoiled by pre-release. It may come down to like the day or two before, but we have the whole thing.

the trouble with these articles is how many duplicates we'll end up having. i'll bet that progenitus, one of the 5 or more X spells, nicol and child of alara will be previewed officially, not to mentioned thornling
Take your monoblack deck, then set aside 14 swamps. Add 4 Creeping Tar Pits, 4 Darkslick Shores, 4 Drowned Catacombs, and 2 Jwar isle Refuge and add 4 Jace, the Mindsculptors. Your monoblack deck is instantly better. Better yet, drop those refuges, throw in some islands and some mana leaks, and lo and behold, you're now playing a real deck. Congratulations. Welcome to the world of competitive M:TG.
The more I've thought about it, the more I don't like this card. This could be the over-hyped card of SoA really.
No deck should be based around reanimating this card. Faeries and 5CC don't care that this thing is on the board. B/W Tokens is going to fly over it, and can probably out-race it with Ajani Goldmane and Glorious Anthems. Something like RDW has probably already killed you, or will soon with Demigod of Revenge flying over it. Boat Brew makes sure it dies while Reveillark is out, and you probably just lost board position.
Many decks in Standard have possible SB-hate for the Child already (Burrenton Forge-Tender), which doesn't target, meaning that it won't sac if it was brought back with Makeshift Mannequin. Even if that's not enough and this DID become popular, its not difficult to switch out a couple sideboard slots for some Relic of Progentis.
Otherwise, the only deck this could fit into would be 5CC. But this isn't a tap-out control worthy card. Cruel Ultimatum is an 11:1. Broodmate Dragon is 2 creatures, and therefore Path to Exile/Condemn/etc. resistant, while Child isn't.
I honestly don't think it'll see any sort of long-term play.

Yeah it was mostly in olden times when it happened on MTGnews and it was rare but over the course of 20+ sets it happens. Usually it would be complete 12 hours before the pre-release though it would just be 3 cards or something.
This was back when Magic was really a niche hobby. Anyways these days with the game more popular then ever it never seems to happen.

the child can be a 3 for 12. if you play it right?
Blech. Another horridly-designed five-color mashup card. Seriously, where's the blue in this card?
Do you want every blue creature to have flying or flash? Does every green creature have to have trample? Does every 3 colored creature have to have 3 abilities? That would make the game retarded. Every color has some grey ogre type of card. Why don't you go and complain about how poorly designed those are too?
As someone said, it's more of a flavor thing. 5 colors = omnipotence = can blow everything up. It's more rewarding to appreciate design then to complain that something doesn't fit your personal view. I vote that this is an awesome, well designed card.

"Wizards could put $100 bills in packs and people would complain about how they were folded." - from Dr Jeebus's Sig
Child of Alara- a 6/6 trampler for 5 is good(even for WUBRG thanks to the insane fixing available) and with a go to the graveyard Oblivion Stone effect it's becomes truly great. Limited bomb worth going into 5 color for, Constructed will probably see play in QnT and the like since it's a sort of uber Archon of Justice and that was seeing play at one time.
Well, I think we have a new best 5-color EDH general. How can you not love resuable board-clearing effects? Eat your heart out Progenitus:p
Under regular EDH rules, returning your General to the RFG is a replacement effect, so if you want him to be replayed from RFG, you won't get his triggered ability. You could always choose to let him hit the graveyard and return him another way though.
Oh snap! What a delightfully silly aggro card. All I have to say is that EDH is getting alot more interesting with Conflux. This guy and Progenitus are going to be amazing generals.

Actually it is a known bug online that you WILL get the effect even if you remove him. So he IS very strong online

Wow, interesting card. The cost is high, but the payoff could be amazing, especially for a 5cc deck that runs mostly land permanents & instants/sorceries.

Technically 11:1 > 12:3. I'd rather play Cruel Ultimatum every time.

Actually it is a known bug online that you WILL get the effect even if you remove him. So he IS very strong online
And if you build a deck around that fact that you can exploit a bug, then you're not only a scrub, but screw you you're a dick.
Note, that isn't necessarily directed at you, but at anyone who intends to accumulate wins by exploiting a bug.
This card is really what mythic should be.
P.S- I mean real life EDH tables, not online ones.
