I am going to miss Lorwyn when it rotates out. Cards like this, however, will make me shout "Good riddance" to Reflecting Pool, Vivid Lands, and Filter lands. A card this powerful needs to be worked for, not just hitting your 5th land.
"Destroy all" is a mixed blessing. It's a control creature rather than an aggro creature. Fusion Elemental is just there to swing and to elegantly demonstrate what WOTC considers is the base creature you get for WURBG.
this is made for mannequin, that way the mannequin counter will put it in the graveyard even if it ends up path to exiled. though with all the color fixing around, this may very well see play as a hard castable creature, i know it will in the block charms deck even if its nothing more than a wrathing beatstick. i just wish he had a sacrifice ability so it could kill itself and not let you be overrun by tokens. though mannequinning this would truly kill faeries. they cant deal with a 6/6 trampler, and if they somehow can, everything including bitterblossem goes bye bye

you mean how 5 colors isn't efficient when you need 5 mana to get 7 power when watchwolf's 2 netted you a 6 powertoughness combined?
Wow. Seriously like this one. It drops, 6/6 trampler. Bad enough. They destroy it, everything else gets nuked. May see play in 5cc, since I see it as more control than aggro. The 6/6 trample is just a bonus.

By that logic, 5 colors is netting you an 8/8, 16 combined, or 3.2 points of powerslashtoughness per color of mana... making Fusion Elemental more, not less, efficient than the 3 pointpermana Watchwolf.

Tarmogoyf has no evasion, yet it sees tonnes of play. What makes this any different?

You could always just disregard that when you realize that creatures with "prohibitive" cost (Watchwolf being 2 coloured mana), or Cloudthresher(GGGG!) are generally undercosted in the terms of straight CMC. And not dig into it for the .2 difference in efficiency.
Clear board, Return Child of Alara (if you have two return Fusion Elemental, cuz its in your deck right? RIGHT?!) and Pass the turn...
Next Turn, SWING FOR 14!
Nice combo there child of alara and graceful reprieve...I wonder how many people will figure that out cause it actually makes the reprieve an amazing card.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
Child of Alara actually looks decent. Lots of ways to break this card + using this in constructed may not be out of the question. Casual this is a wonderful addition.

I mean, hell, we're all on a forum for something that most people would describe as a "children's card game"...do what makes you happy. You are never too old to enjoy yourself.

t1. Mountain (figure?)
t2. Swamp/ Smokebraider
t3. Forest / Tap Braider - Fusion Elemental
t4. Fetid Heath / Husk / attack for 8
t5. Sunken Ruins / Child of Alara / Attack for 8
t6. Land (doesn't matter) / Graceful Reprieve Child of Alara (and Elemental if you have two reprieves / Declare attack (if they declare blockers, sack to husk) and bring CoA (and maybe elemental) back. You could also play PtE on any blockers and go for the kill... but if they have board control (unlikely since you have a third turn 8/8) its gg for them

Please note that finding ways to make a card playable is a far cry from "breaking" it.
it might just be a personal opinion, but 'beating up' someone usually doesn't involve your own death
well think about it, this card is as flavorful as it gets.
What did you expect from a 5cmc card named "CHILD" of Alara?
the card is probably meant to represent the effect CoA had in the Shards of Alara storyline. Looking at what has been leaked about the SoA storyline, and what this does it's almost safe to say that this "Child" is the one to save Alara from Bolas in an almost cliche turn of events.
Not much to complain about, what Zesty said wasn't invalid.

~Intelligence is Bliss; Ignorance is Denial.
Skill is an ability that relates more so to the type of deck that's built and how said player pilots it. It also relates to the ability to assess the board and use the cards available to you in the most optimal way relative to each situation.
When a deck is filled with above par cards and every play is solid, there comes a diminishing need to "think" for the lack of wanting to use a better word.

Combos that make you play bad cards are bad combos... Graceful Reprieve is a dead card with anything else.

I'm a big fan of Graceful Reprieve as a Blink replacement in my 'Lark deck...although I agree it gets a little clunky if the only reason you are playing it is for Child of Alara

A) Bigger
B) Does not destroy your board if it dies

5-color aggro? What is that?
It's a deck that's yet to be made but some people have been talking about building it.

EDIT: BTW you sacked to Nantuko Husk....
Also his ability won't trigger if you use Goryo's vengeance .
As already said, great EDH general. You can put a lot of good "goes to graveyard" triggers: Reveillark, Aven Riftwatcher, Mindslicer, etc.
Just a note: Thornling can become indestructible. Return of 5C-Green?
Cheers,

I'm already building a deck around that. turn 2 Smokebraider/ Turn 3 Nantuko Husk or Fusion Elemental /Turn 4 Sprouting Thrinax OR HUSK / Turn 5 Child of Alara

he says:
but in the absence of shround, haste, or some other method, how does this creature 'beat up bolas'?
it doesn't look like it'd even touch bolas if he had 2 or more loyalty
is bolas' second ability not control magic?
He bets up Bolas with his leaves play abilitie and even if you had to you could kill your own creature.

True, but that reminds me of a deck he would be amazing in... Greater Gifts anyone?
