I can understand cards like Imperiosaur needing only basic mana to fuel their rage, but to push 5-color decks? Didn't we learn our lesson that it is a waste of design space when sunburst burst on the scene like an outdated New Kid on the Block... paging Joey McIntyre, Mr. McIntyre please pick up the white courtesy phone and tell WotC that 5 color decks are dinosaurs that went extinct for a reason.
Hey, there was Bringers.dec. It was awesome. A Timmy player's dream come true.
This card seems really, really good. Not only is it a bomb in Limited, but it's also fantastic in 5-color control. Like, super good. Sign me up for this guy.

He is pretty susceptible to low cost removal if he is hardcast into play originally...magma spray in particular is this guy's worst nightmare.
However, it will definitely be a fun card to play with in limited and it may just be solid enough to run in constructed, never know. One question though, if something is put into the graveyard with counters on it, does it retain them or no?

No, it doesn't.

Recurring 4/4 fliers sound good to me. I don't know why people are complaining about the low p/t. How long have you been playing magic? Red doesn't get cost-effective fliers. This phoenix is on par when you compare "power/toughness:mana cost" in past phoenixes.

The ONLY way this card doesn't see Constructed play is if cards like Path to Exile really take off. Magma Spray is hardly a big deal, and Unmake isn't played in BW Tokens...

Exactly. Hell, you can even recur it at instant speed if the text is worded like it currently is.
edit: oops, serves me right for not reading the thread! apparently you can't
I don't have any hard numbers on this, but I'm targeted more often than a black guy driving a beat-up sedan with a broken tail-light and no license plate, and Cy's well aware of that.
Exactly. Hell, you can even recur it at instant speed if the text is worded like it currently is.
No, you can't, you can play it normally but for the fact that it is in your graveyard and you are playing wubrg for it. Play, rather than return it from your graveyard to play.
And this card, I don't really know. It's obviously good, but the only deck that's top tier and doesn't have removal for it is fae, but they look more likely to splash white with this guy and path to exile running around. But a 4 mana 2/2 flier hat HAS to see a white removal spell or a magma spray is still pretty good, although with a sac outlet it becomes much better (although you don't see 5cc running that too often.)

I think it will, but I do think this would be another decent reason to run Magma Spray in sideboards, as it also takes care of Kitchen Finks and any unearth guys that might take off. It remains to be seen, but the color restrictions shouldn't matter and flying only makes it more viable.
Wah, crap. It requires 5 colored mana to get a 4/4. To do so, you need to have it in your graveyard though. Which deck can get WURBG ? 5 cc contro. Why would 5 cc control play this thing over emyprial archangel - which is far easier to cast, bigger and has shroud ?
2 $, max.
Because the Angel cost's like a gazillion mana more to cast and isn't self recurrable?

It's cute. I'm apparently one of the few who like playing 5C in casual. For that deck, sets like these are its best friend. I'm not sure this would fit in there, but it's worth a look.
Worldheart Pheonix- I've always been a fan of pheonix style cards and this one seems pretty nice. The original 2/2 flyer for 4 is pretty meh but if you have access to WUBRG a ever returning 4/4 flyer is very nice. That said unfortunately with the amount of remove from game removal floating around it's not as good as it could have been.
I don't like the domain mana requirement. That said, the card is not bad. Recurring win conditions with evasion always deserve looking into. I think it would have been better to make it a 3/3 no matter how it gets into play, but that's just nitpicking.
If domain becomes a valid archetype, this critter will definitely be on those lists and other decks will have to pack sideboard hate to make it go away.

Worldheart Phoenix
Creature - Phoenix (R)
Flying
You may play Worldheart Phoenix from your graveyard by paying rather than paying it's mana cost. If you do, it comes into play with two +1/+1 counters on it.
2/2
I kinda like it because it's a 4/4 flier you can play repeatedly if you have the mana. I guess the constructed usefulness will mostly be determined by the prevalence of domain decks.

I find this card amazing, the only thing I see holding it back from constructed play are things like Unmake and Path to Exile which just straight up remove it from the game.
It's usefulness will depend on how much graveyard hate / "remove from game" effects are played in your area.

seems pretty solid to me the other creatures in magic history like this have been way more expensive to recur and not as good when you do, decent critter always liked recurrers

this card sucks as a rare...
No way this could be anything besides a rare, if you understand the reasoning behind what is rare.
This will find a home if domain is competitive.
