My biggest problem with the rumored Thornling is the lack of "G: Untap Thorning", since both Morphling and Torchling shared this ability. And untapping creatures is a part of green. Instill Energy anyone?
AND RDW now gets removal in the 3-spot? Sure, as posted, you would need Gouger in play (or Demigod for that matter), but whoa.

Magic is a battlefield now? I thought Love was a battlefield.... wait Mark Rosewater is Pat Benatar?
Cards from the ages of an ill-defined, if any colour pie aren't good things to base a precedent on now, since there is a current colour pie. As posted by requinox (post 49), haste is only meant to be used in green where the flavour fits. Maybe it makes sense with the art, but it doesn't currently.
I'm also not too sure if the cards are all true at this point, as the thornling should be a 3/3 to fit with the others. The other cards all seem plausible, but there's nothing worth getting excited about for me.
EDIT: I'm not convinced they're real yet, but that's just me. Making my stance clear.
Elspeth "we must fight to protect order and justice!"
Tezzeret "No! he will break all my artifacts and stomp my head!"
Vol "powerful dragon must be brought to heel!"
Ajani "**** this Im outta *planeswalks to lorwyn* wow what hell is this place?"
Little lorwyn goblin "this be the place of bad art and Tribes!!!"
All other Alara planeswalkers "hey where did ajani go???"
Well it seems to me that since the creature type is not known that there is a distinct possibility that this is a translation, and if so a mistranslation could easily turn an untap ability into haste. However we do not have many details on the procurement of this information and the true "reliability" of the source, I am forced to say "Pics or it didn't happen".

Just received coinfirmation from Zesty, these are ALL real. Kinda saddened by the fact that i didn't get to spoil the card i have bragging about since the discovery of the list, thornling. As for the typos, we all know what Thornling should be, just a miscomminicae.
Although I don't mind with the haste ability, my first impression was it should have a Vigilance ability instead. Vigilance has been bled into Green for a fair bit of time already, and I don't see why they can't do this for thornling.
Maybe it's because vigilance on thornling would make it insanely powerful? I guess WotC is afraid of a 7/1 vigi indestruct trampling green fatty running rampant around in 5C control decks. I mean, who wouldn't! (o_O!)

We got the Priceless Treasures (in Zendikar), now they give us the Deadly Perils!
It doesn't have vigilance and it is mythic because otherwise it would be OP in limited. None of the other cards have much consructed playability, but they all seem like middle picks in draft.
If it's real giving it haste makes sure the card impacts the game as soon as it hits play, and does some relatively important things in my opinion.
1) If you get it through against Faeries you can swing with it before they get a chance to Sower of Temptation it.
2) If it's bounced and you get it re-played under counters it attacks the same turn.
3) If they do steal it and you get it back on your own turn, you can give it haste and swing with it.
So well it not the most favor fitting or color pie fitting option, doesn't mean it's a bad one, so personally I'd rather have haste than an untap ability.
Thornling is going to be a good beater. Nothing extremely broken, but good. Haste will matter if you top deck turn 10. Drop it, haste it and beat away. Makes me glad I'm going to be playing a Condemn/Path to Exile suite with Unmake in the board. ;p
Here's what I'd like to see for black's version:
Mournling 1BB
Creature - Horror Rare
BB, Tap: Destroy target creature. That creature cannot be regenerated
this turn.
B: Whenever another creatures is placed into the graveyard this turn,
place a +1/+1 counter on ~this~.
B: If Mournling leaves play ~this~ turn, each opponent loses life equal to Mournling's
power.
1: +1/-1 until end of turn.
2: -1/+1 until end of turn. Any player may play this ability.
These socalled cards have "fake" written all over them.
Umm, a few posts above you, it was confirmed they were real. Youll have to deal with it. At least I hope the art will follow the pattern or Ill be hugely disappointed.

Although obviously incorrect, I'm imagining thornling to have tarmogoyf's artwork. Haha!

those creatures are fine with haste. its just thornling having haste didnt fit the ling cycle. not to mention its practically useless as an activated ability after turn 0. im not going to give thornling haste when it doesnt have summoning sickness. so it just randomly wastes an activated ability. i dont like being cheated of my 5th ability!
I like the green shapeshifter the way it is. 4/4 suits a green beater. Untap would have been nice but the indestructible ability is just sweet. As with most such cards, he would have been amazing a few blocks apart since the current white removal suite can take care of it easily, but that's the case for most cards.

- It's mythic. WHY? What's the POINT of making it mythic?
- Indestructability? WTF Wizards? Don't you realize that Oblivion Ring, Unmake, and the soon Path to Exile are going to be in standard laughing at the indestructability?
Wizards could have really made Thornling so much better... Conflux is just not looking to be good at all.
By that logic, any creature without shroud must suck in your eyes because it can be removed from game that way, and if it had shroud too you would probably just cite Resounding Silence or something.
It's a 5 mana 4/4 which for a cheap cost can trample and be indestructible. Haste may only matter for one turn (although, if it gets Oblivion Ringed and you destroy the ring, it will matter again, whoo!) but it's usually pretty good on that turn...
The reality is that an opponent who doesn't have the ability to remove this from game immediately is in trouble. The +1/-1 ability on an indestructible trampler is more useful than is usually the case. If it could also untap itself, it would be the best creature in standard by a wide margin. It's still pretty damn good.
With all things 'lings-related, I'm pretty hyped over Thornling I'm curious, though, if the art direction will continue with the homage to the original Morphling and bring in R.K. Post to do the art once again. If not a Jim Murray Thornling would be pretty insane, as well.
Mythic, though, gets me wondering how it'll play in the secondary market. I'd just assume everyone will be packing Path to Exile (was that the name? the new Swords to Plowshares) so indestructible isn't as epic as it could be on a beater. Still, though, I'm looking forward to working towards a playset of these babies
As I said before, indestructible + toughness pumping is kind of redundant. Not totally since Agnoy Warp sees play but for the most part it is. It likely doesn't have the untap ability but that is likely because combining that with indestructibility would be kind of pushing it on a creature that dominates the combat step like few creatures can already. Speaking of dominating the combat step, indestructible + trample means you can tear through blockers in a way Morphling and Torchling could never hope to do. This is one of the most powerful combat oriented green creatures ever. Haste I was not expecting but it is actually very powerful. Makes bounce less effective, produces out-of-nowhere wins, and makes sure the card can have an immediate effect on the board. Short of a good CITP ability, its hard to ask more from a creature. I can agree with the disappointment in a lack of some shroud ability but what we have here is very powerful. There are situations where the indestructibility is better than shroud and vice-versa. Also note that the presence of cards like O-Ring, Umake and PtE are the reason we are seeing more and better cards with indestructibility. It's all about checks and balances.
As for the other spoiled cards, they are pretty much all awesome limited cards. Nice batch. I wish they would stop putting Unearth on Ball-Lightning variants and put them more on creatures with good CITPs or cycling. An Unearthing Shriekmaw or Mulldrifter is clearly asking too much but a Twisted Abomination or a Gravedigger with Unearth would be so awesome.
People. Its a 'Ling. Haste could have been something else, but it didn't destroy the card. They weren't going to give it shroud AND indestructible, because thats an undestroyable, irremovable creature in most cases. Follow? People need to start appreciating cards for their worth, instead of cutting them down. Who ever started this whole hing about ripping on bad cards should've been shot. >_>
And is Limited the only play format anyone is familiar with? Not as an insult.
It's understandable blue control players would be shocked and in denial at the notion of this card, since their decks have been dominating multiple formats for an eternity yet they've curiously never once had to deal with any counter-hosers that weren't ineffectual, narrow CRAP.
G: shroud instead of haste...

If not for it, I would assume these are real. When looking at them, I see no problem with their flavor.
But the 'ling is: missing untap, the indestructible is quite lame (ascetic-shroud would be better), and it has haste, that is quite rare for green.
I can see the commons & uncommons being correct. Thornling, not so much. And as the rumor business goes, one rotten fish spoils the whole barrel...

This.
Basically, the card has to be Mythic in order to prevent total shenanigans in Limited.
