Indestructible is an interesting choice for the green member of this cycle. Makes me wonder what they'll have up their sleeves for white now.
Thornling seems like an amazing card for midrange green decks. Sure it might not be unsummonable lile the original but the indestructable brings it close (will make path to exile a must answer now!)
Edit: -1+1 could prove useful against double infest
Thing is, what's the point of the -1/+1 ability, if you can just give him indestructibility?
seems like sloppy design to me...sloppy fake design that is.
Eh, it could potentially die to nameless inversion or you could just not have green mana available for whatever reason. It's not really sloppy design imo.
i think this card is Freakin' awesome just imagine zoo with this even on the draw u flex "Nutz" any mana drawing the extra card u can pitch and turning up the gas on tempo and it still taps for mana easily a 3 of most likely a 4 of
thornling gains haste? why haste? all the other 'lings have untap, and its not like green doesnt have creature untapping. but i like its a 4/4, that is very cool if its legit
Thornling feels like it belongs in Planar Chaos, which makes me wonder what the Morphlings for black and white will be (specifically, black's immunity ability. Torchling has Meddle, Morphling has shroud, Thornling has indestructible. White would definitely have protection of some sort).
I hope they maintain that it's a shapeshifter, although it would seem to make more sense that it's an elemental, from the name. And I can't wait to see the art on that one.
Wow Suicidal Charge is pretty damn ridiculous. If that is a common I am totally mystified here.
In limited that effect is pretty damn insane basically functioning as a easy stalemate breaker. Because your able to pick off 2-3 of his creatures minimum take some damage. Then proceed to win the game on your turn. The -1/-1 also helps this tremendously I have a hard time believing it is a common.
Maybe whites will be Gains protection from all colors.
If this is Thornling... I'm highly disappointed... I mean... I'm ok with the Indestructible... But HASTE?! what the !@@#$#%$^$^$%&%^&*^&(*()&*?

Take your monoblack deck, then set aside 14 swamps. Add 4 Creeping Tar Pits, 4 Darkslick Shores, 4 Drowned Catacombs, and 2 Jwar isle Refuge and add 4 Jace, the Mindsculptors. Your monoblack deck is instantly better. Better yet, drop those refuges, throw in some islands and some mana leaks, and lo and behold, you're now playing a real deck. Congratulations. Welcome to the world of competitive M:TG.
I suppose giving Thornling regeneration would be redundant. I do miss the point of replacing the untap ability with haste because green has a bigger share of the Untapping slice than red, and vice versa. :|

pseudo-vigilance and indestructability on the same creature must have been busted in R&D's eyes. aside from that, it would only cost 2 green to pull it off. redzone for 4, untap during declare blocks, indestructable before damage, and probably kill something because 4 power is nothing to scoff at.
letting them come in for 4 the same turn if they have 6 mana open seems more "balanced," because atleast then it can be picked off if you doubleblock it with first strikers or something.

That's unfortunate if true for Thornling. The whole idea behind Morphling being able to untap was that it could be an offensive powerhouse (+1/-1, flying), and then be a defensive powerhouse (shroud, -1/+1) all in the same consecutive turns by being able to untap. It loses that versatility and also some of the idea behind the original design. While it is still a fun card, I can't help but think being able to untap would make it a better card. Still, -lings are always fun if nothing else and I'm sure this will be no different.
Also, it really doesn't even make sense to give it haste. It only is relevant for a single turn.

Anyway, the biggest benefit of this version of Thornling is that it's a 4/4, making it effectively a 7/infinity given enough mana.
Interesting (if true).
Also, an Indestructable Thornling can still die to -x effects, so its plausible.
