The wall seems pretty B.A.- Not quite for every deck, but you guys seriously think this won't see play? I foresee this fitting well into draw-go decks (we all love draw-go right?) There's so many thing's it would be friggin' sweet with: Cradle of vitality, finks/rhox, sigil of distinction, Elspeth, an Ajani avatar!
Looks to me like the wall works with Bant in basically every possible way. It blocks like a champ, and lets you gain life of a huge exalted creature. Wow in limited. Constructed? Maybe not.
The dragon is again a limited bomb, turning lands into removal. I'm not completely sure on whether or not he's constructed worthy though, since discarding your hand is incredibly difficult for most decks to recover from...
It was said at worlds by Maro and Aaron that there are a "few" cards in Conflux meant to help control Fae a little better, but to jump on the first cards spoiled assuming that they are the said cards is a little silly.

Yipeeee! I have a black/red madness deck that the dragon will go great in.
And the Wall of Reverence, first wall in a while that looks like it can find a place in standard. This card can create quite a stall. I can see it definitely in a Bant deck.
I wanna put the Dragon in my UG Casual Trade Routes deck, time to dig up my Prismatic Omens. Other than that, it looks kinda weak...I hope I'm wrong though.
The wall on the other hand looks pretty cool all around, especially with the aforementioned Cradle of Vitality. I like the look of white from this block, much more than previous blocks.

Agree with you on Cradle of Vitality, having loads of fun with that card. It's almost like they're finally redefining white's role in life gain.
Kind of like how Eternal Witness made G cool again. Now W has Kitchen Finks and even Figure of Destiny (can't forget the whole Kithkin thing) to make it seem more exciting and a more "relevant" color.
Maybe I was wrong in my earlier comments about wotc, they do have some good stuff coming at us.
Hmm, so that's how they are going to represent the shards' conflux. Note that there's no rare two-colored cards in Alara (mythics don't count). This, on the other hand, is heavily two-colored, and also related to both Jund and Grixis (but more Grixis, yeah).
Ya know I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the dragon is neither Dreadwing or Malfegor but Voracious Dragon... it very well could be after all.
Malfegor is unlikely... by most accounts Malfegor is a demon with eight limbs, right? OP said this is a dragon...
I think Dreadwing fits better than Voracious Dragon. Dreadwing is almost certainly a legendary dragon or drake -- I don't see them using that name for an aven/kathari. The comes-into-play ability of this creature messes with you, the planeswalker, to the extent that you forget what you were thinking about doing next (you discard your hand), and it scares the @!@$#$% out of the other planeswalker and/or the other planeswalker's creatures, which die.
In some sets, we might call "voracious" something that eats your thoughts, but probably that wouldn't be a dragon, and especially not in this set, with a setting devoted to dragons that eat specific things to get stronger. Note that your opponent gets to choose which creatures will die... I would think the Voracious Dragon would choose, and/or you, the summoner of Voracious Dragon, would choose what to leave in the way of it.
So I'll eat crow (and put it in my sig and whatnot) if this isn't Dreadwing, and again if this is Voracious Dragon.
It is good but I don't think it will see play. At the end of the day you have a 6/6 flyer. Purity didn't see play.
But Purity was triple white?
A 6/6 dude that turns my topdecked lands into Edicts is tempting as a finisher or top-curve dude. Although the wall interests me more.
Alright, to clean up this thread, the wall is a Rare and the other card is Malfegor, the prerelease card, and a mythic rare. I am adding the wall to the spoiler but holding off on Malfegor, as I feel we might be missing something maybe.
Since those cards are nearly solved, I have another nugget to drop.
It seems as though the shards are going in 'defensive mode' as some suggested, as there is a r/b bear with pro white in the set.

Seds, are you sprouting wings like a little birdy?
I'm guessing it being RB 2/2 (<- definition of bear is 2/2 for CMC 2, ne?) pro white is mostly aimed at fun in the sun named, oh lesse, Figure of Destiny and Kithkin friends?
Now that we know that the discard dragon is indeed Malfegor, I'll go on record as saying that I'm very disappointed. I'm not even sure Mal will be playable. The drawback is just too situational to play around without basing much of the deck around him.

I really hope that the dragon is dreadwing, I'm hoping for better from Malfegor!

Both of these cards seem great for limited. I'm guessing the wall at uncommon?
I would at least wait to see what Scattershot Archer (from the card names thread) does before saying the Faeries hosers in this set are horrible.

too bad we dont have a lot of cards like wall of razors that has low cmc but good power on the power-toughness ratio
