Honestly, its like there are all these good cards that work with old mechanics and its like "Where were you when madness, drege or storm whas in". <(
keep in mind that designers sometimes get their inspiration from other cards, such as when they reflect on what card would rock interacting with old cards.
also, with so many cards in print already, its so hard for a card to NOT be able to interact with just one of 8000 other cards.
given how precedents are reflected on to see how fair a card is, and which characteristics a card should have based on a color, its quite impossible to come up with something truly original
Dreadwing of Malfegor 2RRBB
Creature - Dragon
Fying
When Dreadwing of Malfegor comes into play, discard your hand. Target opponent sacrifices a creature for each card discarded this way.
6/6
Nice.
Someone previously said "Dreadwing of Malfegor" but meant "Dreadwing OR Malfegor". Those are two separate, one word/name card names.
anyone else think this thing is a HOUSE if Phyrexian Arena comes back in 11th? anyone else think that Phyrexian Arena would be a house if it comes back in 11th? cuz i'm pretty sure it would be.
Chances are Phyrexian Arena only sat out 10th because of Bitterblossom. So that really could come back...
Wizards would probably be OK with both in Standard for a few months. It'd be good in some strategies, but I don't even know if it would be too good.
Am I really the first one to qualify this as largely unplayable? Maybe it will find a home in Ramp decks sideboards, but the drawback doesn't seem worth it to me. In topdeck mode it's just a 6/6 for 6, which is under the curve.
the "drawback" takes cards in your hand which you have yet to play (probably because they are irrelevant, such as lands when you already have 6 lands or terror when you're fighting a black deck and so on) and makes them all diabolic edict at 0cc. not bad tradoff to me
This is definately reanimator's new best friend. Sure it's a drawback, but if there is a way to set up your draw like Telling Time, you could Makeshift something next turn.
As a casual player, I like him. A good Timmy card. but thats about it, there are too many IFs for him to be good (i.e. if you have useless cards in hand - which is a bad thing anyway; if your opponent controls creatures that a 6/6 dragon wouldn't handle by himselt etc...).
I like him. But not as a T2-card. I think this card was designed for the casual-players and for that purpose, it's well done.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the generation. social experiment.
it'll be a very good card in Cruel Control, amongst other types. but it's easily going to be a very powerful card, with the right amount of reanimation, it could easily be a finisher once you've already got a creature advantage, dropping a Makeshift Mannequin and then attacking for the win, Or taking the defensive and dropping a Mannequin for the same purpose on thier turn, to make it a one sided Wrath, when they attack, making for some serious advantageous plays.

Could be pretty playable if faeries and kithkin lose popularity, but it just doesn't seem any effective against them.
From the look of things now, even if those decks lose popularity, Bitterblossom, Spectral Procession, and Reveillark will still see heavy play in Standard, and 5 color control doesn't want to discard its hand. Outside of Blightning Aggro mirrors this guy probably won't see Standard play.
Sounds like a nice card and yes Dreadwing of Malfegor does seem the most likely name. At as a part black 6/6 for 6 mana with flying it's really hard to deal with, to big to burn, part black so can't be terror'd/shriekmaw'd. There's not a huge amount of stuff in standard to help combat his drawback but retrace cards, unearth cards and my personal favorite Squee, Goblin Nabob can all help negate any disadvantages.
I would have liked this in extended when Oddessey block was still legal, because flashback and madness would have been brilliant(timespiral's versions are okay but not as good) and best of all Anger would have made it hasty as well.
Very well made dragon. I like how they're finally putting out good solid dragons. Shards gave us 3 highly playable dragons IMHO. If this guy sees print as is, I'll be getting a pset and foil of him as well.

"Dreadwing of Malfegor" is absolutely not the name.
We only know there's a card in the same named anything like Dreadwing because of the leaked card list, which has "Dreadwing" and "Malfegor" as separate cards.
Conflux has...a wall?
Apparently this flew in on the cold breeze...
? 3W
Creature - ? (U?)
Defender, flying
At the end of your turn, gain life equal to the power of a creature you control. 1/6
Huh...Wall of Reverence? Valiant Guard? Gleam of Resistance (seems more like a spell, though)? Interesting...
EDIT:
I'm assuming this is a Bant card? This is very strong with Exalted...pump your attacker way up, then gain life equal to it's new power? Sign me up!

Whoah doctor! That's a crazy good wall! Insane in limited, quite possibly a first pick. Completely out of burn range and blocks Demigod in standard, not to mention makes you *very* hard to kill when Figure of Destiny gains pseudo-lifelink.

Of course, there are 136 cards left. *shrug*
I play Jund Ramp and I wouldn't use this as is. The colors don't have a problem clearing the board as is.

Its a fun fatty for limited, certainly not suitable for constructed. Archdemon of Unx much?
