The slavedriver is cool.. a 4/4 body that's hard so deal with since he's black and you get a 2/2 when he leaves play. I guess I'll be having Turn to Mist in my deck.
I only felt that members of this forum would feel more inclined to find the post credible if it used proper grammar.

Work on your geography ("from: Adelaide") and common sense (the Australia flag). It'll make you look better and be more respected. I did not mean it as an insult, I merely meant that it will help you establish credibility. Sorry if I was inadvertently insulting.
If you think I'm so very terrible that I don't deserve your rumors then stop giving them.
I won't stop giving rumors to the community that I did this season and back to dis when I was remaining anony. But you are definitely not welcomed in my rumors from now on.
As for the cards, meh. I was hoping for a Threaten-variant on the Slavedriver, I guess this isn't bad either, but it's also a tad too expensive to be a really good card. The minotaur is... bland. But, yay for more minotaurs!
As for the Minotaur, it's unplayable even in casual. Not because Minotaurs themselves are unplayable (thanks Didgeridoo), but because Raging Minotaur, Talruum Minotaur, and Zerapa Minotaur are all better. The difference between 3R and 2RR is negligible, especially when Didgeridoo is involved. Even after those three, I'd still rather play Anaba Spirit Crafter, Karplusan Minotaur, and Minotaur Explorer in a Minotaur Tribal deck as other 4 mana and/or 3/3s.
I'd guess the minotaur is another core set plant to replace Hill Giant (for some reason). Thoroughly unnecessary, but at least it's only common.
I don't think it will replace Hill Giant. Since Core Sets are supposed to be more complex, powerful, and shy away from the idea that Core Sets are for new players first, I think this card will enable Wizards to drop Hill Giant from 11th and replacing it some other interesting Red card, while keeping a 3/3 for 3R in the format for the time being. I think that's what they're trying to do with a lot of other cards, too (Cylian Elf and Grizzly Bears). They look bad now, but it could pay off later.
Show me you have any understanding of biology and you'll figure out on which shard the Minotaur should belong.
Last time when I checked, rodentlike goblins and humans were not reptiles.
The Planeswalker's Guide to Alara mentions skeletons of other species found there, among them the minotaurs. And, frankly, minotaurs are a red-aligned race, and their physical prowess makes them better fit for Jund than for Naya.

What puzzles me about the Canyon Minotaur is why Wizards didn't just reprint Hill Giant. We have already seen Core Set reprints (Cancel, Unsummon, etc.), so Hill Giant wouldn't seem out of place.
I guess it could just be due to the setting of Alara. Is there any mention that Alara does not have Giants? Or were Minotaurs already placed in the setting by Creative, and Design/Development wanted a Hill Giant, but couldn't get one due to the setting? Heck, just based on the cards, you couldn't tell that Minotaurs existed in the cards; no Minotaurs were printed in Shards of Alara.
This quote from the Planeswalker's Guide to Alara has already been posted on MTG Salvation:
"Leonin, elves, and humans are the most common races in Naya - there are rumors of minotaurs in the caves in the mountains, but that could simply be campfire tales."
I'd love to see the artwork on that slave driver Zombie giant, nice.
On one of the parts of the conflux minisite, the conflux banner at the top has a zombie with a whip to the right. I'd assume thats the picture (though its not the whole thing of course) if you havent/want to check that out.

Canyons are typical for Jund, therefore probably Jund. After all, the minotaur nature would fit better there than on Naya.

Simple, there are a whole slew of casual players out there who are happy they have another Minotaur to add to their decks.

Anyway, I really like the slavedriver. I see potential with this card. As for the minotaur, no additional comments need to be made.
Goblins are reptiles?
