I personally like Bonesaw. While not as good as Shuko, it's still good limited common pick and there might be other ways to use it. From experience, spells that can be played for free often ends up being useful in some way.
For one thing, even the smallest power boost can go a long way with First Strikers.

It is always easy to be tolerant and understanding...Until someone presents an opinion completely opposite to your own.
Flash wouldn't make this any better, you can still only equip as a sorcery. its not terrible, zero cost spells are always interesting, I could definitely see playing this in an Erayo, Soratami Ascendant Deck. Yes its not good, but someone will use it, its not like its a card that noone should ever even consider playing see Banewasp Affliction, Scornful Egotist, Viashino Skelleton etc
I can't believe that in 5 pages, nobody mentioned Glaze Fiend.
Imagine this:
turn 2: Glaze fiend
turn 3: play 2 bone saws, glaze fiend is now 4/5 flyer, equip, and swing for 6.
I like it.

Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.
If that's real, I like it. I think I've designed something like it before. I also designed one that costs and to equip and grants +0/+1. Little equipments make me happy.
Bleh, I might only consider playing this card in limited if I had a ton of the (not so large pool) of 4-power guys and a decent amount of 5-power matters.

Glaze Fiend wasn't mentioned? lol. well, good call. i was thinking the same. and considering other cards in the Alara block, this card fits well. 5/3 Esperzoa for one mana upkeep? tyvm. and again, free pump for Glaze Fiend every turn.
One more thing, what's with the complaints about paying 1 mana to equip? Consider bringing Shuko into Standard w/ Etherium Sculptor around, that's what people want for Bone Saw? Nty, it's gonna cause enough trouble in affinity decks as is.
Skill is an ability that relates more so to the type of deck that's built and how said player pilots it. It also relates to the ability to assess the board and use the cards available to you in the most optimal way relative to each situation.
When a deck is filled with above par cards and every play is solid, there comes a diminishing need to "think" for the lack of wanting to use a better word.
