I like how all of the cards keep getting "THAT DOESN'T FEEL RARE LOL".
Well, just so you know, I think this is fine at rare. It could have been uncommon or even common, though, for general bombiness. Afterall, it isn't that backbreaking in limited. Green gets tons of 5/5 and almost all of them are, in general use, stronger. Even Shards' Cavern Thoctar is scarier. Really, it's only great as a combo engine or in a format that you'd actually play serveral huge monsters, so it's more rare for narrowness. In limited, I'd rate it as the worst 5+ power creature in the block so far since you really only need one massive fattie and all the others do something else without requring you to get more fat (yes, even the red/white Naya cycling fat is more useful). It's probably not going to do anything in standard either.
Now, that's an awesome idea. Of course, being that 5 power creatures are standard where I play EDH, it should be pretty good. I might even pop one into my Rosheen Meanderer deck. I have a lot of creatures than can trigger it including my XG (G) fatties.
I certainly dont agree that this will be one of the weaker green fatties in limited, in a naya deck you can often get your opponents into the position where they cant immediately remove him without you attacking or blocking with him, and you could start the recuring inevitability, he's better than cavern thoctar and the first striker dude, and the trampler having 4+ toughness gets around alot of the removal in the environment. As a rare for constructed hes awful sure but in limited he'll be quite splashy some games.

I think it has the possibility of seeing constructed play; it plays well with Demigod of Revenge, as you can simply return one Demigod, play it, and potentially get 2 or three cards. Plus, you can use it to return another Paleoloth to your hand to offer some protection. Plus, with two Creakwood Lieges, you'd get 2 creatures back each upkeep (not to mention 2 5/5 worms, a 7/7, and 2 4/4s). Yes, I understand that it probably won't make a huge splash on constructed because it will simply get destroyed, but I wouldn't count it out yet.

8 damage for every 2G spent.
Stupid combo #2: Paleoloth + (Spitebellows or Cloudthresher) + Walker of the Grove
Alternately produce 4/4's and nuke your opponents creatures
