As far as I know, they never (I think it's N.E.V.E.R.) discuss leaked/spoiled cards/names (what better way to keep the unwitting from gaining curiosity than just not mentioning something?). In an Arcana, they were showing people's reactions to Alara Reborn... why not Conflux? Because a lot of people already predict what's coming, in my opinion. So they thought, "well, that one's figured out, so let's use the last one. It creates more suspense, and it's not that far away from the next one..." or something like that.
It all makes sense to me.
No it's a timing issue. Conflux has been in the can for ages and is at the printers if not shipping back as we speak. Reborn is likely in the final edit stage or being shipped to print now. Why they showed the "staff preview" is likely wanted to push some hype for the block, as general buzz has been pretty low so far. Also, the sample pack was most likely there to give us an OMG over hybrids, which was a very popular mechanic, and was something we hadn't speculated.
Neh, they won't put it up ... It was a Lorwyn/Shadowmoor thing ...
We didn't get one in Shards and I doubt we'll see one now.
But I would be a nice surprise! ;-)
Well we did get a couple of previews at Worlds last year during the melee (remember this is how the colossus was revealed.) I wouldn't be surprised if they did the same thing again this year as well since it seemed to go over so well.

That would be cool. Considering worlds is somehow in the US again, it is more than possible.

Well no one said anything about destroying enchantments specifically. If you remember, there are quite a bit of red destroy/remove everything, and blue bounce anything, this isn't about specifics. To make him 'seem' powerful I think their needs to be worldly abilities with Nicol.
Blue needs to show his "brain render useless ability" unlike what I said previously.
Black has a good chance of some form of discard since that is what he did when we wasn't a planeswalker, and now that he technically isn't a real planeswalker anymore, hey why not. And maybe this is the "brain render useless ability" and blue can be something else.
Red needs to obliterate. everything. or be a kill player kinda ability. It just has to, so it makes noobs cry and the card appears good like they need it to. Besides they been talking about appealing to newbies.
I'm looking foward to what the Hellkite Hatchling and Voracious Dragon brings to the tables as well. Was there any hint of Drakes or Skeletons? My friend is happy at the cats.
So, as much as this seems to clearly be a legitimate cardlist and all that, there are a few things that struck me as odd (sorry if these have already been discussed):
1. In the cycle of Outlanders, why are 4 of 5 race/card types that already exist within Alara as representatives of each shard (Goblin, Zombie, Nactl, Valeron), but the 5th is Vedalken, discussed here as being distinctly not what they were going to use for Esper?
2. Syntactically, Skyward Eye Prophets neither flows well, nor does it fit with the construction already presented in Knight of the Skyward Eye? (i.e. Why not Prophets of the Skyward Eye?)
3. And what's up with all the clear-cut Legends that don't have a title/descriptor (Rakka Mar, Progenitus, Malfegor) yet Gwafa Hazid's got one?
4. Manaical Rage is just about the lamest reprint I could imagine.

Um, if you haven't noticed, Vedalken are Esper representatives in Alara. The article refers to the Mirrodin Vedalken, which were deemed not elegant enough visually to fit in Esper. The race itself was found to be OK for Esper (unfortunate for people who despise them as much as I do), but the look had to change.
2. Syntactically, Skyward Eye Prophets neither flows well, nor does it fit with the construction already presented in Knight of the Skyward Eye? (i.e. Why not Prophets of the Skyward Eye?)
If the alternative name isn't too long to fit on the card (which it isn't), they probably wanted to mix it up a little, so the names don't sound too samey.
3. And what's up with all the clear-cut Legends that don't have a title/descriptor (Rakka Mar, Progenitus, Malfegor) yet Gwafa Hazid's got one?
No idea.
4. Manaical Rage is just about the lamest reprint I could imagine.
Can't argue with that.

Thou shalt not have others of the same Legendary before me Thou shalt not frame images with the modern card face Thou shalt not change rules in vain Remember the Reserved List to keep it holy Honor thy Slivers and the symmetry of their abilities Thou shalt not kill mana burn Thou shalt not sacrifice depth for accessibility Thou shalt not steal combat damage from the stack Thou shalt tell a story through thy cards All must be one
Though there had been discussion from WotC about how there shouldn' be card and sets bearing the same name, even if I find it quite elegant.
I am quite sure some names from this list are not final, for the reason Pachuco Cadaver already said: what are these legends that don't have a title ? Weird.
Again,
-The information from that site also had a list of all the ALA cardnames, accurate, before it was fully spoiled.
-Cardname information, most notably names of legends one would assume, is finished well before the cards are sent out to print, and the cards were being printed well before this information hit the internet.
-What is the point of them having a list of incompete, inaccurate information? The list is accurate, all or none. The ALA list is accurate.

Quenchable fire maybe a broken ambitions type of burn spell. Deal x damage to target player unless a player pays x. Or deal x damage - y. any player may pay Y.
Oh how come? YOu have seen the prerelease card too?
Haha, yup, ok guys, Im disclosing the obvious: Malfegor is a mythic rare because its our prerelease card!
Huh.... really now? The prerelease card is Malfegor, a Mythic rare. Let's see some proof, perhaps?

Yes, you are correct. Thank you for explaining what I just explained to Shinjutsei.
Also, it's "neck", not "next".

Gaddock Teeg and Brion Stoutarm don't have titles either, yet Brigid, Hero of Kinsbaile and Doran, the Siege Tower do.
I think it's just a "best fit" between what sounds good and what will fit on the card.
Ah, yeah. Clearly I didn't investigate too hard.
