Way better than Scrabbling Claws? And as a common? Crypt is different since it only removes one graveyard, but this screaming either fake, or wrong rarity/wrong costs. It's too powerful at common, no matter how graveyard based a set is.
(Not that I'm saying that the source is lying, but maybe mixed something up. It doesn't make any sense why each shard should get a hoser (this being for the Black shard), none of the shards know that the other exists...)
Great to see such a powerful sideboard card being common! Beautiful card, love it already. I hate rare and expensive sideboard cards, this is how they should be.
Either that or Scrabbling Claws. Either way, both of those cards were uncommon, and Tormod's Crypt was rare/special. I'm totally shocked that this card would be a common and so powerful for such a low cost.
I'm guessing that if this card is real, then it is a Grixis artifact. Flavorwise, if the plane is based on the graveyard/the dead, then the survivors MUST have a way of protecting themselves. Ergo, this bordering-on-overpowered-hoser artifact is born.
That said, against any graveyard based strategy, this card is insane.

I would actually say that its a bad common. Do you want to play this in draft? Its not maindeck (if graveyards do not become to much of a problem I suppose). But yes its a good sb card. Btw. rarity != power level - look on eg. Sakura Tribe Elder and wizard are also saying that whenever the topic comes up. Btw. Scrabbling claws doesnt waste your own graveyard and its pretty rare that you need to hit more then a couple of cards except vs VERY graveyard specifik decks.

Well done, man! Keep 'em coming! Especially if it's blue and counters things!
As for the card, it's a nice little cantrip with a twist. I can see this as a common pseudo-cycler but I figure the decision of removing your graveyard from the game will not be one to take lightly in limited.

People hiss and grunt at Mark Rosewater for the state of the game. Few realize, though, that it is Aaron Forsythe who is directly responsible of the current state of affairs due to negligence as head of Magic R&D and a completely skewed view of the game as a whole.
So next time you want to make an avvy with Rosewater pissing on something, take a deep breath and consider pasting Forsythe's face there instead...
In flavour terms, though, which shard is this from?
Based on the name and the lack of color, I'd guess it's not particular to any shard - that it's a remnant (thus, "relic") of the days when the shard were joined as a single plane (thus, "progenitus", as in "progenitor").
Does WotC hate Reanimator or something? Why so much graveyard hate?
I am speculating here, but Future Sight had a lot of graveyard-themed stuff. which says we have a graveyard-theme coming sooner rather than later. Could it be the block after Alara? Could very well be. Sounds like a good reason to have some form of graveyard hate in this block, not to mention that this may have been a way for them to kill retrace if it became too good.

No, because Grixis is graveyard-themed.
We already have plenty of gy-hate in Lorwyn block, so...no biggie.
I like this card, it is randomly good in draft as a sb.

Relic of Progenitus- Wow nice card. It's Scrabbling Claws/Phyrexian Furnace but get's rid of the whole graveyard for the small drawback of getting rid of your graveyard too. Not to mention it's only a common.

No, it's a very good common for constructed. I feel that Thoughtsieze should have been uncommon and not rare, which would have saved wallets everywhere. Of course, besides Mythic Rares, Wizards have said that complicated cards/more game altering are for Rares (not just more powerful cards). Removing all graveyards from game tend to be rare (Save Crypt), not common (Haunting Echoes, Morningtide, Tombfire). It hoses an entire strategy, which doesn't happen as a common printing. That's like printing a card that says:
No More Countering - 1
Artifact
Spells can't be countered.
Common
If someone has two Demigod of Revenges in their graveyard and 5 B/R mana untapped on their upkeep, I don't mind removing my graveyard as well as theirs to keep from seeing 15 points of hasty flying damage my way. If you play this card, you know that it will remove yours (as wells as all other player's in multiplayer), so you know the consequences of it. While this is most likely a sideboard card for most people, you're playing it because of the very specific graveyard decks.
So it's like Scrabbling Claws, but more...different. It's nice to have an out against graveyard strategies, but I prefer cards that hit one, two or three of a card in a graveyard, or all copies of a single card rather than just wiping everything.
(U)
: Remove the bottom card of target player's graveyard from the game.
:, Sacrifice Phyrexian Furnace: Remove target card in a graveyard from the game. Draw a card.
(U)
: Target player removes a card in his or her graveyard from the game.
:1mana:, Sacrifice Scrabbling Claws: Remove target card in a graveyard from the game. Draw a card.
(C)
: Target player removes a card in his or her graveyard from the game.
:1mana:, Remove Relic of Progenitus from the game: Remove all graveyards from the game. Draw a card.
In short, Scrabling Claws copied Phyrexian Furnace exactly except the tap ability is slightly worse because it gives the opponent the choice. Now, Relic of Progenitus copies that inferior tap ability but revamps the ability - it removes itself from the game now, to prevent shenanigans. It also nukes YOUR graveyard as well as your opponents'. It's inferior in two ways, and slightly different in one way. That, to me, would justify moving it to common, but still ensure the card will see some play, especially as a strong hoser in case graveyard strategies get out of hand.
Personally, I think it's the best designed graveyard hoser I've seen. Cheap, cycles, and allows to deal with graveyards easily and quickly for the decks that sorely need it... the problem its: Which deck really needs it?

I am going to go out on a limb and say block decks, with unearth a really common ability wizards might have felt it necessary to have a decent sb againist it in block.
I also expect for there to be colorless artifacts that negatively impact each shard, because the colors aren't aware of thier enemies so don't have any reason to attack them directly.
I don't know much about extended, but how does this compare to leyline of the void in terms of hating on dredge? Most of the current dredge deck is rotating out with shards, of course, but I'm sure the deck will adapt. This is obviously more consistent, but the mana cost might make it too slow and after you've activated it they can start to build up their GY again. It's a possible trinket mage target, but next level blue just died. Which will be better?

Very good question. The reasoning behind colored artifacts is to keep them in Esper, but this could very well be in Grixis or Esper.

Yeah absolutely. Scrabbling Claws too. Here's a comparison.
