In Vintage, even an artifact-heavy Fish deck won't have much use for this Master of Etherium; 3 mana is a LOT more than 2 mana in Vintage, and other than being a big chumpable guy, it doesn't have evasion or really do anything disruptive the way most of the Fish weenies do.
Perhaps it might find a place in one of the Workshop aggro decks?
- Jon Finkel Facts: (follow the link at left to see more Facts, or add more Facts!)
- Chuck Norris counted to infinity twice—because he was trying to count how much damage Jon Finkel deals in an average game.
- Jon Finkel believes in maintaining a healthy, balanced diet. He gets all his fiber from eating Magic cards for breakfast, and all his protein from eating Magic players for lunch.
Ouch, Affinity's going to love this baby. With three artifact lands, it's 3/3 right off the bat. That's not counting the pumping it will give other artifact creatures, nor the pumping it will further get from the artifact creatures.
It'd be 4/4 off the bat, as it itself is an artifact.
I like this card a lot. I don't know if affinity is the deck for it (although it's better than Moriok Rigger, since the rigger rewarded you for losing permanents, whereas this rewards you for obscene amounts of permants), but affinity with Atog/Fatal Frenzy seems to be coming into fashion (at least among budget players), and this is a much better choice for that deck than Atog as you can Fatal Frenzy him without having to sac all your pemanents first. Don't worry though, I played BGW rock Saturday in extended and wrecked affinity with SB Fracturing Gust. The thing is nuts.

I don't want to, but I'm actually starting to like Esper...not sure if it would check out in the orb, but there better be a guy that gives your artifacts shroud or makes them indestructible...still quite a bit of artifact hate in standard
EXCEPT IT HAS EVASION AND COUNTS YOUR OPPONENTS CREATURES AS WELL AS YOUR OWN AND CREATURE TOKENS WTF DEAR GOD! DO YOU NOT SEEEEEE THE SHENANIGANS THIS GUY IS ABOUT TO UNLOAD ON YOUR FACE? NANTUKO HUSK IS ALL LIKE "LOL MEET MY BFF JILL!" ALL THE DEVOUR CREATURES ARE LIKE "LOLOLOLOLOL"
Sweet, now all I gotta do is buy the Esper pack thingy and I can get a foil one, that should keep the cost down and make trading them impossible, but hey they are still nice.
Master of Etherium: I love the simple design of this card. Artifact-Scion of the Wild in Blue? Check. Artifact-creature lord? Check. Amazing synergy with the rest of its Shard? Check. This could have been an Uncommon but I have no problems with it as a rare. And yes, this probably deserves to be tested in Extended with Ravaffinity. Autoinclude? Maybe not- testing will tell. Oh, and he is a reason to go all in for Esper cards in Limited.
wow...this card is indeed interesting. An Artifact lord which actualy makes Tezzeret better...wow...Actually Tezzert just turns this card into a complete house making all artifacts into 6/6's and if you have more than one they get even better.
Master of Etherium- Cheap Broodstar style card which boosts all other artifact creatures, I might even consider trying him with affinity(seems fairly solid).
If Kresh had more than 3 toughness, I'd say he'd see play too. But 5 mana for a 3/3 makes him so vulnerable to basic removal that its really not a great investment. I know everything dies, but not everything dies equally
Heh, and you could either fetch this guy with Tezzy, or go fetch more cheap artifacts into play with him. AND being non-legendary, oh, this could be mighty fun, even in T2 possibly. Casually, I can see a lot of use for this guy.

Raffinity isn't really all that dominating in the current Extended, so I don't see this as a problem.
Define "all that dominating"? You mean, even though people SB 6+ cards for the MU, and still lose? Or the fact that it's going to be even better post rotation, to the point that they should probably just ban Ravager now?
Not entirely sure Affinity wants this guy (though I agree, that it's probably better than Atog...? More synergy at least), but he's certainly bomby, and everything a lord should be. Given enough accelerants, and playing out your hand via Capsules and whatnot, he will probably be pretty good 90% of the time. NOW I know why they reprinted Shatterstorm. *tear
God, blue and black always get the broken cards (GY and Artifacts..), and they always get hated into the ground because of it. And still continue to win via broken cards. Wizards... you need to give the other colors some broken mechanics, and give the other colors hate for them.

I love this card with cheap artifacts like ornithopther. Get your free artifacts the bonus so they can attack. Lovely. Play them for free and draw because you've got your vedalken archmage.

hey i have managed to evolve my axolotls by feeding them thyroid glands the thyroxine contained in these gland is enough to change these water dwelling creatures into land based creatures

Tay, that's not evolution. It's metamorphosis. Evolution means descent with heritable modification – individuals cannot evolve, unless they're Pokemon.

Uhm... no evasion and 3 mana... reminds me of a really jank rare that came out with fifth dawn, Moriok RIgger. I won't say that this card won't be played, but artifacts should be really, really overwhelming to let this card touch pro's hands.
Singularly, of course it's not amazing. But artifacts are known to work so well together. Too well.

2 main differences, first off, Master of Etherium is itself an artifact so it already fits in better into any affinity deck, and second instead of just getting itself bigger it boosts everything else as well.
Now, I'm not saying that its guaranteed going to be played because of those differences, its just that because of those differences its going to fit much better into the deck.

HUNDREDS OF THEM.
I like your style.
This card is "meh meh" to me but I bet I'll open a lot of them and crazy blue people will be eager to trade stuff I actually want for them.

This card is simply nuts. I'm soooo glad I chose not to break down the old Raffinity deck, merely set it aside. It's going to be...a good bit better?

Not sure how you meant that, but it was funny anyway.
If this guy's real, he's pretty good. I don't think I'd play him, but I know people who have decks already custom made for it.
