This reminds me of building a wonder in civ and winning non-violently. YAY!
*laughs* I love the idea of a deck that you can win with by never doing anything negative to your opponent (or at least hurting your opponent, making them discard, or milling them.)
Stop claiming that this card is playable in extended. It's not.
In standard? You're trying to resolve an infinite mana combo w/ a fragile creature to play an otherwise worthless enchantment...in a format full of removal?
I hate to be the rain on your parade guys, but this thing is totally casual only. (Unless more enablers come along, then it will be playable.)
Thran Turbine would win you the game in 50 turns by itself.......
Cute. But I have a better idea. A little number I like to call braid of fire.

on its own it generates 45 mana after 9 activations. not bad, but it needs more.

Evil is boring. The universe is friendly. Life is on your side. Joy is your birthright. Cynicism is idiotic. Fear is a bad habit. Despair is lazy. In fact, all of creation wants you to succeed. Act as if the universe is a prodigious miracle created for your amusement and illumination. Assume that secret helpers are working behind the scenes to assist you in turning into the gorgeous masterpiece you were born to be. . . Life always gives you exactly what you need, exactly when you need it.

Yeah, but that one's already been mentioned like 7 or 8 times in this thread.
How about.......... Overbeing of Myth? Seedborn Muse and mana making artifacts and creatures? Could get the job done in a few turns, backed up with some discard or counters...
I think the deck you need involves rosheem, mana reflection, doubling season, braid of fire, and tons of elves/wall of roots. Fun casual, impossible for constructed.

Mana Reflection does nothing for Braid of Fire. Mana Reflection requires that you tap something to get the double mana (otherwise you'd have infinite mana with any mana filter creature, like Orochi Leafcaller.)
1) Forest, Llanowar Elves
2) Forest, Mind Stone, Rampant Growth
3) Forest, Harmonize, Llanowar Elves, suspend Search for Tomorrow
4) Forest, Harmonize, Hunting Wilds, Boreal Druid, Helix Pinnacle
5) Search for Tomorrow resolves for a Forest, Seedborn Muse, Prismatic Lens
On turn 5, you've already got a few counters on it when you say go, and you put another dozen on it during your opponent's untap step. Another dozen or more on your untap... which means you can win in 4 turns. Sadly, board clearers wreck you horribly.
I might slip this fella into my mana reflection pseudo-wake deck. It allows me to put idyllic tutor in as mega awesome: finding bitterblossom, oblivion ring, mana reflection, or helix is pretty cool. Reflection is the best way to use this in standard problably, since it makes the filterlands produce three mana with one out and SEVEN with two. Hello 100 mana over three turns.
T1. Helix
T2. Brains
T3. Bairn, 1 counter
T4. 7 counters on helix, 2 on braids
T5. 15 counters on helix 6 on braids
T6. 26 on helix, 14 on braids
T7. 61 on helix, 30 on braids
T8. 128 on helix, 62 on braids

I had an old card in my file that read (cleaned up to modern templating):
Energy Siphon
{2}
Artifact
Whenever you tap a land for mana, put a charge counter on Energy Siphon.
When there are 100 or more charge counters on Energy Siphon, you win the game.
Shroud certainly helps out a card like that; realistically even when the mana is still usable for something else you still get stuck with the problem of having to spend 100 mana on something. As such, I can't imagine it playing much different than that card did; i.e. comedy combos.
I really would like a card like this to be good...but cards like bitterblossom and cryptic command will always be legal at the same time as this card. So sad..
Another attempt by Wizards to wreck multiplayer chaos/EDH with stupid crap, a la Kokusho.
Cause Wizards was thinking about those formats when they designed this card. You actually think they do? Much less, that they were "sabotaging" casual formats?
The card is entirely underrated. "I win if I pay X mana" is solid in so many ways. Pick them up now, because it only gets better in older formats. Also, that little word Shroud is the only reason its competitive. So now we have to pack mass-enchantment removal, just to deal with this? Meh. It's certainly got potential.

It's an alternate win condition for pure control decks... you just tap mana into it at the end of opponent's turn over & over. Even if it doesn't win the game, it just costs G and a card.
It's a 1 mana, unremovable alternate win condition for stasis decks. It's an alternate win condition for any lifegain decks.
I proposed a card before that was functionally similar to this not long back.
Just Braid of Fire and the Helix. Then put storage lands to sink the extra mana from the Fire is you lack the Helix. And the rest a Big Mana skeleton with the works so it can have a chance against faeries. The SB should be able to deal with the rest of the meta quite easily.

Sower of Temptation kind of disagrees... Both cards are strictly unplayable in the average tournament environment.

This'll be a fun card to build around.
2nd turn swamp,
3rd turn swamp + Coalition Relic + Helix Pinnacle,
4th turn swamp + Magus of the Coffers,
5th turn swamp + Umbral Mantle = infinite mana.
The only parts actually required are Magus+ Mantle + 4 or more swamps to make infinite mana.
Machius proudly supports R_E's right to Rumour!
Replace helix pinnacle with Rite of Consumption AND you can gain infinite life too!!!

What is the fewest number of turns you can get to 100 mana using those two together?
T2. Brains
T3. Bairn, 1 counter
T4. 7 counters on helix, 2 on braids
T5. 15 counters on helix 6 on braids

T2. Braids
T3. Bairn, 1 counter Helix, 1 braid
T4. 5 helix, 4 braid
T5. 15 helix, 10 braids
T6. 37 Helix, 22 braids
T7. 83 Helix, 46 braids
T8. 177 Helix, 94 Braids
Just a question, with braids can you activate brians ability after the counter is added to braids, before you get mana?

I proposed a card before that was functionally similar to this not long back.
The calculation is a lot simpler, because Gilder Bairn targets, and Pinnacle has Shroud...
Turn 1 (after Braid): 1 counter on Pinnacle
Turn 2: 3 counters
Turn 3: 6 counters
Turn 4: 10 counters
Turn 5: 15 counters
Turn 6: 21 counters
Turn 7: 28 counters
Turn 8: 36 counters
Turn 9: 45 counters
Turn 10: 55 counters
Turn 11: 66 counters
Turn 12: 78 counters
Turn 13: 91 counters
Turn 14: 105 counters
All assuming you don't put some of the mana from your lands/creatures/artifacts into Pinnacle as well...
[edit]Whoops, you can still use the Bairn on Braids...
Assuming both Braids and Bairn go active at the same time:
Turn 1 (of both going active): 2 counters on Braids, 2 on Pinnacle
Turn 2: 6 Braids, 8 Pinnacle
Turn 3: 14 Braids, 22 Pinnacle
Turn 4: 30 Braids, 52 Pinnacle
Turn 5: 62 Braids, 114 Pinnacle
