Play Moonhold after you snapped their creatures back with Aethertow. Crushing two of their turns, you don't really even need to play red for it.
Its circumstantial power, but in blue/white, EOT bounce creature, Next turn can't play /that/ creature can potentially be devastating. Its not terrible, as such, and in the right time and place, it can win you the game. If you can get a pair of Aethertows and a pair of moonholds in limited draft (and maybe a few consign to dreams or bounce effects), you can set
up the right time and place without much difficulty.
In constructed, playing this in response to Gargadon 'remove last time counter' is pretty funny, and wrecking a Revilark's turn 3 can be incrediably important. (No evoke for you!)
That makes it a lot less powerful than I thought then. Bummer.
Still a fantastic spell but wont have the monowhite applications I thought it would.
Indeed, it's good for prison type things, and it can likely see play as it is I imagine. Especially with blue as was mentioned above. The tempo swings this card can create is pretty awesome.

Monhold is an excellent card. In fact most of what I have seen is reasonably playable. It takes me back to the fallen empires and dark days where only about 1 out of 20 cards was even remotely playable. I still shudder at the memory of opening the first pack of my 3rd preordered box of Fallen Empires. I am sooooooo glad things have changed in 12 years. Damn those thallids!

The common species on this world is content with what they must do from one cycling day to the next. As for myself, I am proud to be not like them. Sure there are the difficulties of blending in, but having the ability to leave this place and travel to a new one is worth it. I have met others like me, unfortunately not many have survived that meeting. I am destined to be alone. Immortality has its drawbacks.

Yeah, except then you wouldn't actually spend any mana to play it, so it wouldn't have any effect.
