*brainmelt*
I mean my scalp popping like a skillet, and molten gray matter sizzling across my face. Then writhing like a temporal lobe epileptic in pure, delirious ecstasy.
So. . . were you thinking a Blue-Red or a White-Red deck?
Blue would probably be the best and most obvious route. Also I'm a big fan of RU decks anyway and there hasn't been a good one I like in awhile. I mean, it'd be a hard splash but you could run Godhead of Awe too, which would just totally spell GG for your opponent if they don't have anything to solve it then and there.
RW just leads into the combos of Pariah and Outrider En-vec, which I'm unsure of whether they're worth it or not.
So.. I'm sitting here goldfishing a combo deck based around the Swan that goes off regularly on turns 5 or 6, allowing me to draw my entire deck and burn my opponent for about 22-25..
The only thing is, I think turn 5 might be too slow in current standard. Rogues and Kithkin can really get in there for alot of damage fast. The good thing is that the pieces of the deck also double as spot removal. I think I am going to peruse gatherer and see if there is any way for me to speed it up. I will report back soon.
Maybe try three colors run Green for wall of roots, birds of paradise, plus primal command to find the swan/ plus shuffle your graveyard back into your library to reload (im assuming your playing W/ or U/). This would also allow you to use burn like shard volley easier because you have more mana.
something like G//
4 birds - fix mana
4 fanatics - ??? maybe replace with white life gain/prevention, but they are amazing againist rogues
4 wall of roots - slow down aggro plus accelerate
4 shard volley - good burn
4 Pryoclasm - board clearer
4 incinerate - see shard volley
2 Aven riftwatcher - gain life
2 titan's revenge - reusable burn early, if you don't see the swan
2 ***
4 Swan
4 primal command - life gain to extend game againist aggro, puts burn back in library from graveyard, finds swan.
Wow. Order of the Whiteclay is gonna be awesome. Whats with all the White reanimation as of late?
Am I the only one that is antsy for the goofy stories of how cards got spoiled? I really can't wait to hear about the random girl on a subway dropping hints to someone. **hint hint...
Rageater Witch is definetly going into my R/G Shaman Sligh list over Bosk Banneret or whatever. A few more playable Shaman one and two-drops and the archetype will even survive Time Spiral moving out come fall without breaking a sweat. Good stuff.
Yeah all the classes seem to be getting fairly decent support right now, knights got a mid size beater, rouges got an unblockable merfolk, clerics got resusable reanimation, and druids also appears like it is going to get a decent amount of support with 5 hits on the orb.
Hah! That would be pretty awesome. Each land you draw = two more cards drawn... and then once you have a grip of 10 lands, you can just burn their face for 20 gg

I like it too. I don't know exactly ho good are 50+ land decks, if they can find Seismic Assault quick enough, but the interaction is amazing. Just draw your entire library em throw it against your opponent. Very nice =p

I have a pretty solid combo deck proxied up that fetches him using summoner's pact.
Summoners Pact can't fetch the card dude "Green Creature". The flavor text on the card is great "Any being that harms them quickly learns its lesson." funny stuff.
Scary **** in limited Swans on defense is going to mill for a lot of cards, against 40 card decks..... could be devastating given there's some mill support
No, I think a limited player would keep the swans swinging. He's unkillable by any burn or any blockers, and the card advantage the opponent would get if he were on defense would totally eclipse the milling.
That being said, Swans is a great, great card. I can tell this is going to be played quite a bit.

More games are decided by tight technical play than all other factors combined.

seems really fun...
You can use it in your blue-white blue-red, or white-red deck against anything but red (against burn, you side it out), as a finisher card...
And in blue-red, you just put it up there... swing with it, and shoot it every time you want to draw cards... fireblast... draw 4 cards...
In white-black or blue-black, pestilence and Swans of Bryn Argoll... COMBO for group night. Swans prevent the pestilence from ever going away... Plus people like to draw cards, so they might not kill you either... they just love to throw fireball at your bird and draw cards.
If you're holding back with the Swans on defense in Limited, you're going to end up handing your opponent a win long before he gets milled to death. They're not even that great on offense in Limited. A high pick, yeah, but the potential for getting screwed is massive.
Okay you have finally put me past the edge... Kithkin, Boros, White Weenie, Doran, Solar Flare, Project X, Turbo Fog, Blink, Reveilark, Martyr Decks.
All Standard Decks. All played within the last year.
It always struck me as odd that it would be White the colour to be chosen by these emo fellaz.
Listen, people, White has really hot cards right now. No, it doesn't have Armaggeddon and that is a good thing.
TSP wasn't exactly great for white, although it provided them with Crovax... still not the best set.
But CS and Lor have been nothing short of peachy for the colour.
Tell me exactly what cards as powerful as Doran, Reveillark or Martyr of Sands does Red have? Wizenned Cenn is a Glorious Anthem with legs that boosts the strongest Wheenie tribe White has ever had. Soldiers got nothing at all on them.

I think the problem is that there's nothing white can do that other colors can't. Elves/Warriors > Kithkin, Boros, White Weenie. Dralnu > Solar Flare (IMO), Dragonstorm > Project X, Everything > Turbo Fog, Doran is pretty much the only white card in his deck. Blink, Reveillark and Martyr just happen to be the best cards white have by now. And even there, white is not that big of a part in the decks (Rev Combo has a lot of blue, Blink has/had a lot of blue/red (iirc)).
But that's just my opinion, I don't know. Actually, I don't really care about white =p

Elves/Warriors have no real defense versus Wrath of God/Damnation. Kithkin have Borderguard.
Dralnu and Solar Flare are completely different.
Dragonstorm is much less reliable than Rev Combo by far, and Rev can pull out a win out of beatdown... I have been beat to death many times by a Body Double copying a fattie in my own yard.
And nope, Rev has Reveillark, Mirror Entity, Aven Riftwatcher, Teferi's Moat and sometimes Tivadar of Thorn (I've seen it once! It ate a Colossus!)
Sometimes Rev also packs ***.

Sounds like a fun deck. Need some way to tutor up the Swan though.
[Edit]
It only fetches green creatures.
Glittering Wish could work, three colors shouldn't be difficult with all that land.
