Yeah!!!!! Gates of Hell bring it on! I really hope this means there will be at the very least a graveyard sub-theme. Great name, althought it is not the speculated Shadowfall, which i think sounds cooler, it is still awesome cuz shadow is in the name.
Delete my thread, I didn't see one up at the time and yours got in first.
do the same to mine.
i really like the name and the logo. i hope its the new torment. maybe bridge from below is in this set since it seems to have that graveyard name.
Yeah. "Shadowfall" sounded way better, but this is fine.
If the art and flavor text of Dolmen Gate are indeed linked to this block (is there any doubt, now?), then I expect some awesome graveyard-themed cards. I mean, c'mon, the logo looks like the gate of a cemetery.

More Zombie-love for those who miss them in Lorwyn!
And maybe we'll get other undead, too... I was thinking about it during Ravnica season: white gets ghosts, blue gets skeletons (maybe without regen), red gets demons and green gets zombies, while black could have necromancers Oo
I think we can now be 99% certain this block will carry a graveyard theme. That maintains the "redoing previous themes" concept that's present in Lorwyn, and fits well with the "flavor" of the name.
It also seems likely, based on the description of the Shadowfall novel, that Shadowmoor is in some way the distant future of the Lorwyn world, or otherwise related to it over a vast time span.
Cards in Future Sight that have a medium to high chance of being related to Shadowmoor:
the frame looks kind of like metal, another artifact set??

They used the color-imbalanced gimmick last time they had a graveyard block. (And it didn't work out that well overall.) I think the chances they'd repeat it now are ludicrously slim.
A dark world based on Victorian horror would be the perfect compliment to fairytale world of Lorwyn - Night and Urban vs. Sunny and Pastoral - all the while maintaining the vaguely British Isles theme.
The symmetry would work even better if Shadowmoor uses the Celtic Otherworld and Unseelie Court as part of the backdrop.
I think I like the actual name better than Shadowfall... feels more like the name of an actual place. A very creepy, very Tim-Burtony, black-oriented place. Very groovy.
I'm not sure if it's been mentioned anywhere, but do we know if there will be another batch of Planeswalkers released with this one? It's seven months from now, so we'll have had a chance to get used to the first five. Just a thought.

There's one at the door, at the gate to damnation...
Is it thief, thug or whore? There's one at the door...
And there's room for one more till the end of creation. Neil Gaiman, Sandman #4 - A Hope in Hell
Looks cool- something dark will add more contrast to Lorwyn and Morningtide, but like you guys said, it will still be a little lighthearted at it's core. Street Wraith was a good call- as evil as the card looks, it still has a cartoony overtone. The other cards listed look a little TOO dark- like Tombstalker and ilk, but then again, Dread is a badass looking creature...

You said it. Kind of like the original Rag Man picture... Although pictures like Shadow of Doubt and the guilds of Ravnica may be a little too close to that theme, and a little too soon to revisit. Still, I'm all for a very grounded expansion (Mirage-like sets are fun every now and then).
Also, is it confirmed that the cards in Future Sight will actually get reprinted? Or are they just pieces and themes from a future set (aka, goldmeadow- close but not any singular card).
Go go black ftw!
Looking at the logo, I'm kind of getting a Nightmare Before Christmas / evil woods from The Wizard of Oz (can't remember if they have a real name) feel. Definitely feels like a continuation of the fairy-tale environment, but with a dark spin, maybe even with a Dark Crystal vibe to it.

Torment was dark. This will likely be light fantasy-dark, based on that logo.

should resemble nightmare before christmas.
All those who called the light/dark block theme, stand tall.

EDIT: Anyone noticed that the banner on magicthegathering.com is notably "dead"? Another point for the "graveyard block" theory?
And in the list of cards from FUT that could be there, you missed Logic Knot
I'm tempted to sig this.
