I hope they don't keep the tips and tricks. Tokens fine but the tips and tricks in Expert sets are useless.
I wouldn't be surprised if it's more like the stuff that was in tournament packs for the sets. It would probably have brief explanations about the block's mechanics and the like.

The only good thing about this post is the edible chocolate roaches they gave out! Mmm mmm!
*crawl crawl*
Wait a minute, edible roaches don't crawl! EDIBLE ROACHES DON'T CRAWL!
That's GREAT!!! More tokens, meaning hopefully there will be a token for goldmeadow lookout or harrier whichever one it is! I'M EXCITED!

With all, put the same thing except with / in front of what type of tags they are (like [/card]) to close them.
Card: [card]
Hybrid: :symub: = order doesn't matter
Aaron confirmed that tokens and tips & tricks cards will be staying through Lorwyn and beyond. Also, more tokens in the Expert Sets than were in 10th.
I didn't note anything else important.
I would love a link to this, but does this mean that Lorwyn will have rules cards explaining the new type not because it is complex enough to need a rules card to explain it, but rather because it is one of the most complex things in the set and as the set has rules cards it was put on one?
If so thats a pro-tribal titbit...

(U/B) is :symbu: or :symub: and the same is true for the other 9 hybrid symbols with their two colors in for the last 2 leters of the code. ((2/B) and co are :sym2b:)
Alternatively {UB} or {2B} in [mana] tags are (U/B) or (2/B) T is :symtap: and T will give T in [mana] tags

"If I do go to heaven, I'll smack god across the face and tell him to get me a grilled-cheeses sandwhich and then say 'Yea what now god!? Say some'in! I dare you!' "
Less tips and tricks, more tokens in expert sets.
SWEET.
The fact remains that some of the inserts will talk about the 'awesome' new card type, which apparently needs some explaining. (*cough* tribal doesn't *cough*)
Good interview.

Yeah, even though an expert level set is what implies, tips and tricks cards are needed for players that are still struggling to learn the game more and yet bought packs from the expert sets. Also more tokens are good. Only got 2 dragon tokens in 3 boxes and I need more

Ugh they are that rare?
I managed to get 4 saprolings from the release, and I hope to get at least 4 more from my 2 boxes.
I hope that interblock design comes in, and more thallids show up.
I won't hold my breath though.

bah i don't care for them either way.. the tokens are cool.. i actually enjoyed the tips and tricks cards.. i liked having the "parts of the turn" and "the stack" for reference to.. as many newer players struggle with "parts of the turn" and "the stack".. and "priority" that i'd rather have them be "common knowledge".. maybe if Dan Frazier, Christopher Rush, or Rebecca Guay did some full on art on the back of them maybe they'd be "more popular".. either way it doesn't matter to me and they are neat to have.

I just want people who redraft to admit this:
"I can't draft objectively unless I am able to guarantee that I receive at least 3 rares. I am also better than most average/new players so I want to make sure that I get the best rares and they end up with worse ones. I care more about the monetary value of cards than actually playing the game for decent prizes."
I personally think it would be better if they just combined the two types of cards into one. Have a token on one side of the card and the tips/tricks on the other side. I seriously doubt those ads they have on the back of both types of cards get looked at much anyways except for perhaps the one previewing Lorwyn.
I am not too sure I am too hot about the tips and tricks, I noticed the first card of the pack in some boxes get scratched (the side of the pack that is sealed) and its the whole box I suspect it is because of squeezing in a 16th card... not all boxes are like that but when it happens its the whole box... granted it is only a common card that gets scratched but I hope they fix this problem.
The ads are probably intended to get new players to get involved in competitive and/or local Magic scenes. I know I would have done that much quicker if I'd had a Tips & Tricks card back when I first started. (Of course at that point there was no MTGO and I didn't need to play at the store, because I had time during lunch at school.)
I like how people are complaining about the tips and tricks cards, even though they don't replace commons in the pack, and half the time they are awesome tokens .
BTW, does anyone else find it funny that there will be a card that says "Play Big" on one side, listing stuff like pro tour and JSS, then on the other side there is the almighty PT-breaking horseshoe crab + arcane teachings combo XD.
Edit: <Caldera42> Why were many older cards that have been in the core set since alpha removed from 10th, especially Stone Rain?
<Aaron_Forsythe> Stone Rain has a nice, clean text box, which is nice, and it shows off the color pie well, which is also nice. But the problem is that it is quite good at what it does, so much so that it cuts off design space by existing. It is hard to make another 3-mana red LD spell with Stone Rain around in perpetuity, as that suddenly makes LD a decently strong deck. We'd like to be able to make those cards without making the deck tournament-worthy, so Stone Rain gets to sit this one out. As for other cards (Verduaran Enchantress, Flight, etc.) we just like changing some stuff for the sake of change, so that the set doesn't feel stale.
^
What new 3-mana cost LD spell do you think we can expect in Lorwyn? I know there is rain of tears, but Forsythe's response really seems to imply that there will be another LD spell in lorwyn to replace stone rain.
In a box of 10th edition, you should average 2 of each token per box.
In another thread the tokens are actually brought to a rarity of distribution with dragons being the rare and zombies/wasps being uncommon and goblin/saprolings being common. Many people had similar outcomes with their boxes

Heh, that's really weird. Although there sisn't nearly as much use for Dragon/Wasp tokens.

Sadly, I think the Thallids were part of interblock design with Ravinca's return to saprolings. So I doubt it.

Well, there isn't a "token" for Llanowar Mentor either -- Llanowar Elves doesn't need to be a token because it's a card.
Rather than make a Goldmeadow Harrier token to help out Goldmeadow Lookout, we expect them to make Goldmeadow Harrier a card.
