I hate any combo that has to do with Phage. I think when sombody pulls out a phage related combo it's a slap in the face to anybody who plays against them. Dishonorable. What a waste of time.

This is a pretty good card. *lol* It sets itself apart from Clone by having a 3/3 body and apart from Zombify by being able to designated a card in any graveyard. Its 5cc is really just to justify reanimation in Blue. Anyone playing Tron in their deck probably won't have a problem with Body Double's casting cost. Let's see what new targets for this guy PC will give us before saying he's bad out of hand.
Don't know about constructed, but it will be pretty nifty in limited, especially with all the discards running around and kicking all your hellkites/akromas (doesn't matter which one) into the grave.

How fun is it to be an evil cousin?!?:evillol::evillol:
This card isn't flashy at all and I don't know why it is a preview card to begin with. Even if it's better than Evangelize, it remains quite unimpressive.
However, this card would be truly good in a blue/black deck running cards like stupor, damnation, compulsive research and such. This card alone would even be a reason to run Chill to the Bone as it takes out large creatures.
But personnally, I don't like black at all so I'll trade this card whenever I can.
You know honestly, when I first saw this card I felt like it was just sort of a Johnny/Timmy thing that was a pretty logical progression from Clone. I started thinking about combo possibilities for Type 2 and Extended, and I could think of some; but I am just not sure when this guy would be better than Zombify or Stitch Together or any of those cards. Really, I think this will be relegated to Johnny/Timmy territory for good...it basically plays like a blue Hymn of Rebirth, and it can get Phage. Building your deck around Phaging someone for 5 mana instead of 7...just isn't that spectacular to me I guess.
Interesting sideboard material in case Reanimator or Solar Flare becomes somewhat big. This thing is at its best copying an Akroma or Angel of Despair and denying your opponent his chance of reanimating.
Then again, it doesn't remove the copied creature from its owner's graveyard, which is potentially dangerous against Reanimator. Creatures that go to graveyards are not THAT much over the 5-mana barrier, so you're not getting too much of a discount either...
I just dunno. Seems like an awful lot of work for a win condition. Then again it's a blue Zombify, which means U/W Reanimator is at least a possibility...

People hiss and grunt at Mark Rosewater for the state of the game. Few realize, though, that it is Aaron Forsythe who is directly responsible of the current state of affairs due to negligence as head of Magic R&D and a completely skewed view of the game as a whole.
So next time you want to make an avvy with Rosewater pissing on something, take a deep breath and consider pasting Forsythe's face there instead...
Always crappy day 2 previews. but it's not terrible actually...works well in reanimation, but not much else. like a walking debtors knell, and you can change what creature it is with momentary blink.
If this is what is defined as "Jank" in Planar Chaos, then I will take it. A set in which even the jank rares have sideboard uses versus decks such as Solar Flare definitely has my favor.
You can copy a corpse with Body Double, then reanimate the corpse with Zombify! Yeah
i think this is an important thing people aren't seeing. yes of course we won't see Body Double in T2 play... and when i first saw it i thought "i another copying dude?" but after thinking about it he's actually quite powerful in that the corpse is not RFG'd. had this guy been around in Kami block, we would have seen him used as a one off in Greater Gifts for sure. i'll play him in a casual mill deck, definately in 5-color... but yeah, not a huge bomb in T2 or even limmited by any means.
I don't see what all the fuss about it being bad is. It is an interesting take on reanimation shifted into blue and very cleverly done IMHO.
Could be powerful in MUC reanimating the opponents win condition while leaving mana open for counters. Probably won't see much constructed play though, maybe as a one of or a sideboard option in Dralnu du Louvre?
Yes, it's a great finisher for monoblue decks, nothing like playing it vs decks that don't play creatures, another control deck that takes forever to play its critters, or even better, pay the fire-sale price of 4U to Clone a Soltari Priest or Icatian Javelineers fresh from a Boros graveyard:)
..........I just couldn't resist being sarcastic. This will see the same amount of play Dimir Doppleganger is seeing (and Doppleganger is better if ya ask me)
So...a reusable Zombify is jank? It costs 1 mana more.
I think that this card is pretty decent, but I don't see it ruling anything at the same time.
If I was playing blue I wouldn't pass it.
i think it says "ANY" graveyard so you can steal their Akroma so it is strictly better than zombify.

It can't be strictly better if it costs 1 more and finds itself in another color.

Oooh. What happens if you play this and choose the Body Double in your graveyard? Do you get to choose again? And if you keep choosing the body double, can you stall out a game?

i do not think so because the ability is when it comes into play i thin you just get another 0/0 dead creature in your grave

Probably. Its too damned early here.

No! You cannot have either of your two copies of Adarkar Valkyrie....
But I can!

As far as comparisons:
Fool's Demise requires a targetable creature in play, that must then die. (2 of your cards for one of theirs in most situations)
Dimir Doppelganger essentially costs six mana and is fragile.
The biggest concern is really splash damage from people running Crypt or eating their own yards via Tog.
