In some sense. The only good fnord is a dead fnord.
PLEASE give us some NEW stuff and not crap we know! Giving us Sunscour got on my nerves once, so why'd you do it again?!
Actually, Sunscour wasn't "previewed" a second time, just featured in an article. Aside from Mondays we only get one "new" card per day. Some of us don't have cable to see the AS ads, so this is still new to many. Besides, today's focus should be on the 10th edition voting - a card that has already been leaked gives it equal footing, rather than being overshadowed.
That being said, this card is very playable with snow lands in the deck, but I'm not really a fan of it.

Well its probabily playable with just snow covered lands.
Um, just a random thought: will you be able to use snow-covered basics in limited? Also, if you are not supplied with them, then will boosters have them like 9th edition has basics? Will tournament packs have them? If the answers to these questions are no, then heidar will most likely be unplayable in limited, as snow lands will probably be essential to have consistent use of cards like him.
I could see playing him with some kind of snow land based magnivore LD theme. With a decent opening hand he could lock the opponent out of the game if they can't remove him immediately.
T2. Boomerang
T3. Stone Rain
T4. Eye of Nowhere
T5. Boomerang on a 3/3 body
Basically if they don't gasp or helix him when they have the chance (admittedly, most likely they will), he can lock them out of developing mana at all, while leaving enough mana open to keep the stone rains falling until Magnivore shows up to finish the job.
Not to mention what a nice ally he is to all the CIP creatures running rampant.
He is definitely narrow and high priced, but repeatable bounce is a good (and dangerous) thing for blue to have access to, so he's probably a fair card even though he's not stellar.

yes, snow lands are legal in limited.
No they will not be supplied on demand and yes there will be 1 snow land per booster.
There arent any tournament packs for the coldsnap set so no.
as the card refers to snow permanents and no just lands he may be more playable depending on the amount of 'snowys' you get.
anyway in sealed you are guarenteed to get 5 snow lands anyway and possibly more depending on the number of other non-basic snow lands you get in your packs.
I for 1 plan to do a CCC draft and draft as many snow lands as possible (well other than money rares of course )
im still not sold on this card. I love U/x and this 5cc slot is up against windweaver.(not that im trying to compair the two) but I just dont see this in any U deck out side of limited and fun casual decks. At 5cc you got a lot a utility to choose from in blue thats a lot better.

Thanks for the Sig and Avatar Fogatog @EPIC GRAPHICS
so a temporal adept for 5 mana. I agree with RE's analysis of the playablity. Even adept sees little play, something that's pretty much just as fragile but costs 5 will see 0 play.
Bah. Useless cardboard. 3/3 for 5 is unplayable in standard as it is and the ability is useless unless you have 4 snow permanents... Not very exciting.

I can see this guy getting played in MUC decks that use Dark Depths as a win condition... he's damn good at making sure the game just gets drawn out for goddamn ever... with the 2 mana Temporal Adept ability, but not coming down till turn 5 is a big downer on this card. He's still worth playing, especially if some goofy CIP effects start showing up (yes, he can bouce your permanents too... like Crystal Shard except way, way, way worse).

It's a comedian's duty to find out exactly where people draw the line, and then cross it deliberately,
i think this guy is better than dark depths. heck,... he defeats dark depths, he can assist you in board control, essentially turning any fatty creature drop into a timewalk for you, and so what if he can be lightning helixed... TARGET HIMSELF.omfghax. and if they spend a second helix on him? YAY they spent TWO HELIXES for 1 guy. and the fact that it's not as U intensive as the adept is, you can actually run him in some multicolor decks alot easier... and possibly without duals (we aint all rich ya know) and as suggested earlier, in decks w/ Eye of nowhere, boomerang, and LD spells like Stone Rain, he can do what the temporal adept once did, and lock down the board. (especially if you bust out the magewright's stone)
ok, so for all the rambling and what not, it's not an ABYSMAL card, i happen to like it, the snow drawback? is rather negligible when you think about it, especially for constructed, especially w/ snowcovered basics, and the scrying strata, the strata is awsome for card advantage.

Oh I think the card is fine power wise. It seems a bit weak for five mana. I don't really like 3/3s for five, but the ability is nice. I thing the general opinion is that the card is dull. I think it was a poor preview, because it is a boring card and doesn't really make me excited for CS like one would think a preview should.
Hes got the problem that in most blue decks, your only one turn away from playing your win-condition (even assuming Counter Backup, which you would want for this guy aswell) and really, a 3/3 is going to get eaten by everything. A 3/4 would have been perfectly ok and actually quite a bit better since he could block quite a few creatures in addition to the ability (which is good, but not so much on a 3/3 for 5.) Should be fun in limited at least.

he's not SO terrible. let's face it, there are some great CITP abilities out there. i don't think anyone would mind bouncing thier own Faith's Fetters or Hierarch. 5 mana is costly, but his ability is neat, esp with that artifact in DIS that uptaps things with T in thier activation cost. two boomerangs without losing your hand.
terrible. just terrible. he should have costed 4 mana and been a 2/4. then he would have been moderately more playable. still unplayable...probably.

Fun is a drafting situation. Maybe practical in a Wizard deck(yes they really do exist!!). Mah in any other situation. Repel and Boomerang are this guy's enemies.
unless you are allowed to play basic snow covered islands outside of this t2/ block he seems limited to this block t2 only and won;t ever see play again. with tradewinder every block had creatures so he was playable

I normally don't insult cards much but this card makes me plain angry. It has a terrible body for it's cost and you need snow stuff to activate it. Besides the valkarie I have not seen a single card that is realy worth playing. Wizards better make it all better tomorrow.

Out of confirmed rarities we have...
17/40 Rares - Not even half of them.
7/50 (maybe 10/50 but we don't have rarity confirmation on some cards) Uncommons - 1/5 at best
12/65 Commons (INCLUDING the five snow lands)
Shh..
We don't have enough to judge the set as a whole. Prere is almost here, and I personally like what I am seeing, but alot has yet to be seen.
