I think it should have been a gold card like 2BR or something so that gruul wouldn't be able to capitalize on rakdos keyword.. *cries*

Demon’s Horn has a reputation in multiplayer games, Lursen said.“Usually if somebody in multiplayer plays a Demon’s Horn, we all just immediately attack that person, because he’s going to win,” Lursen said.
But...
1) Since when did Red get the Jump ability?
2) Since when were Dragons in MTG smaller than 4/4 unless they were babies (Dragon Whelp & Furnace Whelp)?
3) Since when did Dragons in MTG not fly all the time?

There are some obvious off-flavor aspects to this card, as people have already posted, so I won't strictly reiterate. But really, for WOTC to produce a card like this and in flavor of a typical dragon (having 5+ power and flying from the start), and maintain it's firebreathing and hellbent mechanics, this card would probably cost 7 mana.
They took some acceptable liberties for the sake of making a logictically efficient creature. I think a lot of the debate would have been allayed if the creature simple wasn't a dragon (perhaps a whelp?), but let's face it. Dragons are awesome, no matter what they look like. This is actually sort of a Timmy-Spike card, if those exist. To WOTC's credit, they did try to "explain" the fact that this dragon doesn't fly by including "pit" in the name.
And in real-life situations, if your opponent breaks his back and casts Ghost Council, and you cast this no hassle in mono-red, I think he'd be in for a lot more pain than you on the swing.
this cant fly right off the bat because of two reasons. it has built-in firebreathing and it cost 2RR.
it has firebreathing and cmc=4.
if this thing had Flying, instead of "pump flying" it would easily have to cost 6. (MAYBE 5) in which case, you hold it in your hand longer, which is against the 'goal' of hellbent. This guy is cheap so that we can play him. his abilities are costed instead of already there so we can play him. i like this card, AWESOME design, and the art really really adds to the flavor.
yeah definitely like this card flavorwise.
it makes the dragon's ability (jump i/o fly) makes sense.
just imagine this dragon unbound and untame (if the guys
in the art do train this thing), it will have your prototypical
dragon specs(5/5 flyer). and with no help i.e. no cards
in hand, it will give you a hurt times 2(double strike)
now with this i definitely see the cc to be 7 or more.
3) Since when did Dragons in MTG not fly all the time?
Well, it's a Pit Dragon, he doesn't get to fly a lot in the pits... =))
I like the card, though it definitely requires you to play red as your primary color, so probably will see restricted use in 2 or 3-color decks. Red Deck Wins and Wins and Wins and Wins with this dragon =) Maybe the Gruul might want to use it instead of Giant Solifuge in 4 mana slot.
jitte on this thing would just be freaking unbelievable, pump 2 with jitte and no cih and you take 10? then 4 counters on the jitte? that's just sick.
Hmm... I think you mean 14, actually (unless you mean one counter for +2/+2 instead of 2 counters for +4/+4)... 18 if you use the counters from the first hit for the second hit. Don't even have to use the pump ability... that's evil.

You are right. But then again, most creatures are good if they carry a jitte. Perhaps that will be reason enough for some people to swap the dragons for solifuges, but I wouldn's bet on it.

I noticed some people where complaining about dragons not being able to fly. Well, we are living in a city now, at least for this block. most likely flying dragons would be somehow hunted down or shot. This one is a more ground pounder unless it needs to fly. Seems to fit the dragons and block to me just fine.

Dont Sac your creatures, it will kill your upkeep and clog your graveyard.
If you have a 7/7 flying trample, that means its really unstoppable right? so does that mean while it is in the graveyard, it can trample your creatures and into your hand?
SO GOING IN MY RED AGGRO DECK
i think it is a sweet card
flying
firebreathing
and double strike
it can kill some pretty strong creatures with enough mana:D
What a great example of hellbent. What other archetype would want to exhaust their card supply by turn 4. Imagine this after playing the 5/3 beater of death on T3 - the pressure your opponent is under is huge. Basically, if they don't take care of all your threats, they lose, plain and simple.
The toughness is annoying, but it's not horrible - and the 4cc makes up for that quite a bit in tempo. When you can hit for 6 and then pump to hit for 8 - or take out almost any blocking creature in the format without losing your guy - it's a good investment.
"Wall of Roots trades with Doran. Doran doesn't like Wall of Roots. You would think he might, as they are both trees. But Doran is a sociopathic tree. He and other trees don't get along – hell, he doesn't even get along with himself. Have you seen what happens when you cast two Dorans? Let me tell you, it isn't pretty." -Uri Peleg
welcome to the very definition of the guild. Because the question is not "What if they have Wrath of God turn 4?" The questoin Rakdos would ask is "What if they don't?"
And that is why Rakdos is the most fun guild in the world.

I was trying to describe Rakdos to a friend of mine, and I finally came up with the following description last night:
"There will be no such thing as a "close game" with Rakdos, either I win outright, or you do, it's that simple."

As much as I'm against the OTT view that this card is going to solo tournaments, cure cancer and make Susan Boyle attractive I'm not really a fan of the opposing camp who think it slaughters puppies and sired Justin Bieber.
I can only see this in a Mono-Red aggro deck. If this is in a burn deck it will bite the dust the second it comes into play. There is too much removal in standard right now. This is only playable if you get hellbent within a turn or have it already. A 3/3 for four, even with its abilities, is not aggresive enough for standard right now, nor is it a good control creature. I could see it played in some kind of deck, but it won't be spectacular.
A 4cc 3/3 with doublestrike and R: +1/+0 is absolutely insane.
I'm blown away.

Attack with 3/3 dragon, move to damage.
First strike damage resolves, three damage, +2 counters on Jitte.
Before normal damage, pump dragon to 7/7.
Normal damage resolves, seven damage, +2 counters on Jitte.
Thats a total of 10 damage, and you still end up with 2 counters more than you started with, without paying for any abilities.
What happens if you get a *** on turn 4?
I kill you with
it.
Not to mentionthat without it, the deck could be dominantly red, making mana a lot easier.
