FIrstly if you only have 4 mana untapped that means you dont know if you got a creature there either. The big problem is that there is too much of a setup that goes into this card. you need the top to make sure you actually have something worth using this card with, you need a creature wit ha good CiP effect or you need one with a good goes ot the yard effect but then you need a sacrifice engine. If you bring out a fattie early with it boo hoo Ill take one hit from it then likely never see it again. UW is not a creature based pairing and wizards should not be trying to railroad us into this
You can get a block and an attack. If the creature has a come into play ability you get double dibs if the creature is still alive. I think the real problem with the card is the amount of misses that can happen. I don't want to have to depend on a card from CoK to help me.
Very nifty...more combat tricks. Obviously very few Azorius creatures will have Haste, but will have nifty CIP effects like Sage Aven or Hussar of the Court.
I'm liking what I hear from Dissension so far, very much.

Haste would not help in any way, since it's end of YOUR turn.

Youre dead on. Ill take one attack from whatever "fattie" blue and white might have because I know that card will then sit in their hand probably until the end of the game. Blue and white do not have big creatures and you cant splash very well for big creatures because big creatures generally have more than 1 colored mana in their cc so your chance of getting to play it again is even slimmer. There is nothing in this block that makes this card even remotely playable

Every rarity gets good cards. That means that some mythic rares will be tournament quality as will some commons, some uncommons and some rares. My promise wasn't that mythic rares wouldn't get good cards but that we wouldn't limit the good cards to only being mythic rare.
Bear this in mind the next time a powerful mythic rare is spoiled
Thanks to chaostheory90 for finding this quiz for me
I think you guys are underestimating this card. It is incredibly versatile provided you have the tools to manipulate the top of your deck. Off the top of my head alone I would use this with Keiga and Miren. during your attack step, reveal keiga; block. My turn, swing with Keiga, smack you for 5, sacrifice Keiga and take your best creature and gain 5.
This card has the capability to completely nullify an opponent's attacks. I'm predicting this card wiil see play in a 4 color UWBG deck.
Cards for inclusion:
Telling Time Sensei's Top manipulate top of deck
Farseek or gift of estates & sakura-tribe elder provide the mana fixing and shuffle
the new black tutor searches for a card and shuffles
Wrath to reset the board
leak - having a counterspell that only requires :u: is critical.
Another counterspell - I'm waiting to see if anything good comes out of Azorius
I would possibly even include a copy of Debtor's Knell or two.

Evil is boring. The universe is friendly. Life is on your side. Joy is your birthright. Cynicism is idiotic. Fear is a bad habit. Despair is lazy. In fact, all of creation wants you to succeed. Act as if the universe is a prodigious miracle created for your amusement and illumination. Assume that secret helpers are working behind the scenes to assist you in turning into the gorgeous masterpiece you were born to be. . . Life always gives you exactly what you need, exactly when you need it.
I can't believe that Zvi messed up his article so much though, talking about getting a block and an attack out of the creature is rather on the newb side for a player of his calibre.

Pretty sure you can get a block and an attack out of the creature if you cast it in responce to your opponent's attack. RTFC: it says end of YOUR turn.
no. this is not that of a good card. unless in casual, u/w control decks are naturally not going to run maybe more than 4-6 six fatties for finshers late in the game. that said with 4-6 in your deck you have a very low chance of hitting that fatty and end up missing wasting a card. yes there are ways to manipulate your deck but why run it when its take more effort just to make this card work? i'd say this card is casual play.
Its nice, its a cool trick and well costed for what it does but the hit and miss aspect makes it unlikely to see major play.
To even think about using this a deck would want to be at least a 3rd creature based(a quarter statistically works but still isn't close enough to a certainty) and using 20 creatures all of which need to be good enough to be a benefit when hit by Aethermage's Touch especially in a UW/x deck is hard to do.

So thats Miren, AEthermage's Touch, Keiga and deck manipulation to set this up perfectly. Also if youre up against someone running aggro I would be willing to be that the jitte is in there you block with keiga and the jitte gets 2 counters you attack and youre swinging with a 3/3 how terrible you sac it to miren and youll steal a creature that Ill bulldoze over with the jitte next and you gain 3 life. Also to get all the tools you want you would essentially have to build a deck around this card in the hopes that you get everything you need out at once.

Out of flavour/colour pie? See Flash. True, the pie has changed a tad since then, but their is presidence. This is like a fixed Flash actually. This is actually really strong. The "At the end of YOUR turn" wording is the key thing here. Abuse come into play effects and swing with a revealed fatty. This actually might see more Extended play than Standard actually. Eternal Witness, Duplicant, The aformentioned Angel of Despair. With Tooth and Nail in Extended I would run this as well since it could resolve turn 3-4 reliably and is creature heavy...even if not all of them swing for game. Also, Stifle counters the ability.
Turn One: Land, Bird, go
Turn Two: Land, Tribe Elder/Wood Elves, go
Turn Three: Land, Go...Aethermage's Touch, Twincast
Turn Four: Possible swing for game if right cards revealed..if not...eot Stifle.
I like this card. It has a huge range of possibilities. Johny likes this card a lot. Timmy even likes this card, though intermediate as it may be. Could Spike love it too? I think he might. Spike hates it now. "Stupid card taking up space" Spike will say. Rogue Johny shall kicketh some Spike ass!
Amen, rogue spike will love this card as well. It's full of potential and I'm sure a lot of players will get pretty annoyed with it in the following months.

Now... THAT'S a Yugi-oh kind of mind... (notice the lack of Gifts Ungiven)
I say this and i'll say it again
WHITE/BLUE CONTROL WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN US!?!?
By the way... how much azorius cards do we have left??... lets hope for some 20.... (+5 good, hard counters )
Edit: according to the spoiler, we have 4 azorious rares... 3 of them are creatures... the other one is this... plus we'll have Augustin... that's 4 creature rares plus one search creatures. That leaves us with 1-2 (or 3??)... so, lets hope for control!
I like this card a lot, but that's just because I play green in my UW deck and it's creature based..
But it really isn't blue/white this card.. It could have fit for the Gruul though, with their killer instinct, or most likely the simic but now it is out of flavor, and nothing more then a non-guild related multicolor card (I hope).
Really people, the stuff you are talking about is letting me down... seriously
Is there nobody here who actually realises what kind of weapon this gem can be in the forthcoming Standard season?
Is it so difficult to understand that instant temporary reanimation (bc that's it what it is) for 4 mana is good? And why is everyone complaining about "UW control cards"? This IS UW control, in all it's glory.... Instant winning conditions + huge board advantage :o:o:o What else is control dying for if not for powerful instant spells? Shake yourselves a bit everybody and try to actually put the damn card in a deck.
Oh, and I'm gonna shoot the next person who says Windreaver is a bad card... * spiritual herder leaves in disgust...
There there... * Onderzeeboot pats Spiritual Herder on the back.
But he's right, this card combines some of the finest aspects of in one card. Think Ætherplasm + Surprise Deployment!
I do think people underrate this card. Seriously, the ability to pull a creature at instant speed is powerful. Note that the "return to hand at end of turn ability" can be gotten over by Voyager Staff, Ghostway or Otherworldly Journey. Other examples are Cytoshape and Voidslime.
It's not difficult to stick a creature card on top of your library. Take Congregation at Dawn (and if you really want to sink low, like me, Leashling. MWAHAHA!). So, in the right deck this is going to be a good finisher 70% of the time. Wheeeee!!!!!!!
I like the new black reainmation spell. It (snip) better than Zombify.

I would have liked this card a lot if it weren't rare, as it would be interesting in limited (it's probably not that great, just a fun trick). I also have to agree with everyone who said that this card doesn't make much sense in :symw::symu:, as its closest parallel in this block is actually Killer Instinct. Maybe this is why the YMTC card was delayed? There's a bit of overlap between them.
Oh, and that art is really sweet.

Karma doesn't exist. You can't depend on it. If you count on it for justice or catharsis, you will find that you have placed your emotions on very unstable ground; and you will either repeat your disappointment in society over and over, or you will engage in a persistent delusion to protect yourself from that feeling.

I mentioned 4 color control specifically BECAUSE of gifts. Pardon me for not mentioning it outright... I considered an obvious inclusion. Gifts decks were 4 colors also, and didn't have any of the amazing mana fixing available now. Gifts is a fantastic card... but I would imagine it to be better in a UBW reanimator deck.

Oh, another CRAP. It will be 0.5$ (0.33 ticket) rare.
The only use for it is in UWG(b) reanimator deck with GreaterGood, but even there it is not very good. Though I've seen a player with Through the Breach in GG reanimator, so it can be played instead of that.
Alright, there is far too much complaining about the lack of Azorious control. People are missing the obvious similarities between the cards we know.
Azorious control = Bounce
Look at the CitP effects, look at this card, look at the Aethermage...
Hell even Forecast can be seen as Bounce based, as you'd rather use the ability on a card that you had in play and bounced to your hand because your opponent ALREADY knows you have it, so that rather than give away information, you're just drawing that almost free card.
It's clear Zvi gets paid to sound over-enthousiastic. This is a card with a lot of possibilities, but most likely, no applications. I don't really like it overall, it doesn't feel UW to me.
You really just need to embrace the rage. I keep a small colony of hamsters next to my computer and every time I lose a match to mana screw I throw one against the wall.
I don't like it. And I certainly don't like it when columnists try to get you all worked up on cards like this:
"Every so often, a card should have enough potential that you want to run out, buy four copies and start breaking formats"
Breaking formats. Indeed. I hope tommorow's previews are way better than this.

Throw in Yosei, Meloku and Heirarch while you're at it.
Run-on sentence of DOOM(tm)
Whenever a U/W deck can't handle aggro, God kills a kitten.
Also to get all the tools you want you would essentially have to build a deck around this card in the hopes that you get everything you need out at once.
Considering that 'all the tools you want' consist of:
4 AEthermage's Touch
4 Sensei's Divining Top
2 Miren, the Moaning Well
that shoudn't be too hard. You can fill the rest of the deck with counters and Wraths and fat.

That said a UWG deck could possibly find a use for this, Loxodon Hierarch, Carven Caryatid, Civic Wayfinder and Wood Elves, Angel of Mercy, Clone, Sakashima, the Imposter, Kavu Climber, Haru-Onna and Kiri-Onna are all creatures with universally good 187 abilities which work well with Aethermage's touch. Going UWG also gives you access to Congregation at Dawn as a useful tutor effect. Vedalken Dismisser is also interesting but its cost to p/t ratio makes it much worse than the others when played from hand.

It is a nice card, but as frog master posted "I think it's off color though."
It should be GU not really WU. A suppose it can be used with those randomly tricky Congregation at Dawn decks.
Anyone know of a combo or a good deck with this?
Imagine a Azorius + Selesnya + Simic deck with Bioplasm, Congregation at Dawn, AEthermage's Touch, etc.
