Hunted Troll - 2GG
Creature - Troll Warrior (R)
When Hunted Troll comes into play, put four 1/1 blue faerie tokens with flying into play under the control of target opponent. G: Regenerate Hunted Troll.
8/4
Yeah actually the source forgot to mention the P/T the first time, and I had to ask... I was assuming it was a 4/4 as well, and then the message came back - 8/4! That's pretty fricking huge for 4 mana.
Note that they can attack with all but one flying 1/1 unless you give it trample, until they run out.
- you cast this
- they attack for 3 flying damage
- you attack, they chump
- they attack for 2 flying damage
- you attack, they chump
- they attack for 1 flying damage
- you attack, they chump
- they hold back
- you attack, they chump
- they do something else
- you attack and get through!
That's a lot of waiting... so obviously you need to give your guy trample, or remove their tokens.
The other hunted dudes we've seen couldn't be chumped by the varmits it creates. Conversely all the hunteds we've seen could block and kill the varmits they create (at least one at a time).
This one does neither. Sure it's got a sassy power/cost ratio, but assuming they attack with x-1 of their dudes each turn and keep one to chump it'll take 5 turns to get through, and you will take 6 damage in the process before you even start to see dividends.
Meh, if it had trample then it would be amazing, but as it stands you would have to invest extra cards and mana to take care of the bugs, reducing it's usefulness.
Lets see, best way to deal with it's drawback would be needle storm, or channel the sky dude, then this guy costs GGG4 (or GGGG3) and an extra card just to be a 8/5 trampling regenerator without a drawback.
Meh.
(EDIT, bah I'm too slow a typist! I think everything I had to say was covered)
Everyone was pointing out how many ways there were to get rid of the knight tokens the dragon creates. It's even easier to get rid of 1/1s...
True but the 1/1 create a much larger problem from a strategy standpoint then 2/2 First strikers.
First of all, they get to attack first, as opposed to dragon where you do. Second, Dragon can simply block the critters it makes to deal with em. Thirdly Dragon can't be blocked by the knights, making them of little worry when pressing the attack.
So basically The other hunteds can simply ignore their hunters, assuming they are on the offense. Troll, I'm afraid, cannot.
Man, this guy just screams throw me in r/g deck, pyroclasm and laugh while your opponent gets beaten. It comes down turn 3 with acceleration. I love it. And regen...thats just silly...
This and lightning helix are making way for a nice T2 zoo deck.

Don't mind my posts, they are probably just a product of gang violence
This is a cool card with interesting design. Sure it will take a while before you can start really dishing out damage, but with some other cards (like Yamabushi's storm to name one) you can get through really fast. It needs other cards to make it work, but once it does, it's a house.
That's true but when you add in these additional costs it seems like less of a good deal.
Big Troll
GGR3 (GGGG3)(GGG4) Depending on what you use.
8/4
G:Regen
When Big troll comes into play discard a card named Yamibushi's Storm, Needle storm or Arashi or Big Troll can't attack for 4 turns and you lose 6 life.
I think you've got the right idea here. That's better than waiting a turn and casting a removal spell to kill the faeries, and Night is a fine card anyways.

Karma doesn't exist. You can't depend on it. If you count on it for justice or catharsis, you will find that you have placed your emotions on very unstable ground; and you will either repeat your disappointment in society over and over, or you will engage in a persistent delusion to protect yourself from that feeling.
Oh how I want to throw an armadillo cloak on this guy.

Evil is boring. The universe is friendly. Life is on your side. Joy is your birthright. Cynicism is idiotic. Fear is a bad habit. Despair is lazy. In fact, all of creation wants you to succeed. Act as if the universe is a prodigious miracle created for your amusement and illumination. Assume that secret helpers are working behind the scenes to assist you in turning into the gorgeous masterpiece you were born to be. . . Life always gives you exactly what you need, exactly when you need it.
While i think the Dragon and Llama will be great in limited (sealed) i'm not sure if this guy is worth risking as flying is a really strong limited ability. What do others think?
i love this guy. G/B can use that spoiling land eater the turn after and whipe out those dang pixies. also, o-naginata seems to fit nicely on two awsome green trolls, ascetic and this dude. with any luck some insane troll deck might become viable in new extended!! (i know its unlikely though)
This guy is killer in limited. G: Regenerate is just awesome. He is definatly constructed canidate as well. With all the flying around as it is, Silklash spider could see some maindeck goodness.
I personally like the dragon the best though, hes the most threatening guy so far. "You got 3 turns to kill me or i win."
A little off the subject, but i noticed there are tons of token generating guys in this block so far. Is that maybe a subtle hint to what the next block could be about?? I mean Maro said that this block does some subtle nods to the next.

When Guildpact was handed over from design, it also had seven gold rares per guild,... and that the seventh gold rare in each guild was less important to the set than the Nephilim. So each guild is down a rare in this set.
Gruul, Izzet and Orzhov. Officially screwed by WOTC.
well, that settles it. i guess it's "hunted" llama and not "humped" in the spoiler... (unless of course this has already been pointed out and corrected, in which case :shoot self in nugget: )
i'm hoping there's a really really undercosted one with a super gi-normous counterpart, like a 1B 4/4 fear guy giving a 6/6 trample token to the opponent, so you can go nutso with gilded drake. 8^)

These hunted guys are very interesting

That'll do nicely.
Still 8/4 for 4 is pretty darn huge. And regeneration is gravy. But yes, he needs an o-naginata... or warhammer.

So what could be the last two? Black Hunted - giving green token, maybe with trample, and Blue Hunted - red tokens with haste? or 1st strike?
It is crazy with anything that gives trample...
Let this great clan rest in peace (2001-2011)

Post-rotation extend: Opposition is still here.
IMO this is the worst of the 3 hunted so far.
I do not sign 5yr+ old cards. Please do not pm me for this.
