One of my sources, who has been reluctant to speak up much lately, has been following the recent leaks in the Rumor Mill and decided to spill what he knows. I guess leaks breed leaks!
PART ONE
XXXX -
Instant
You gain 1 life for each creature in play. If any was spent to play XXXX, untap all creatures you control.
Another bleed spell! (If you didn't see the other, it was here.) I think this one's a little overcosted to see play, but I like it from a design standpoint. For 6 mana you want to swing the game in your favour - I don't see this card doing that. In limited, you could gain a bunch of life and untap your men to create some favourable blocks... but only in a deck running both G and W. I wouldn't bother with this in a deck that didn't have access to :symw:, that's for sure.
PART TWO
Saprolings!!!
PART THREE
There is a rare 3/3 Cleric for 1WWG that gains you 3 life when it comes into play. I might be remembering it wrong but I'll look into it!
So a Trained Armodon with Healing Salve slapped on. This vaguely reminds me of Mystic Snake in a way (green creature with another colour's spell slapped on.) A typical "Invasion style" gold spell. I like it! A nice midgame play for the "Candelabra Bush" guild decks.
That's all for now, but I notice he just popped onto AIM so I'm going to see if was able to get us anything else.
EDIT: The source made a mistake and he believes the creature is actually a 4/4 for 2WG, which would make it:
Something -
Creature - Cleric (R)
When Something comes into play, gain 3 life.
4/4
EDIT: The source found out he made another mistake, the creature is a loxodon (possibly legendary) and also sacrifices himself to regenerate a creature.
Incredible Changing Loxodon -
(Legendary?) Creature - Elephant Cleric (R)
When Incredible Changing Loxodon comes into play, gain 3 life.
:symg:, Sacrifice Incredible Changing Loxodon: Regenerate target creature.
4/4
EDIT: Apparently this is the final version of the card... we hope.
Loxodon _____ -
Creature - Elephant Cleric (R)
When Loxodon _____ comes into play, gain 4 life.
:symg:, Sacrifice Loxodon _____: Regenerate all creatures you control.
4/4
You guys are weird. It was ME comparing the cleric to Mystic Snake, not the source. It's not playable as an instant, it doesn't have Healing Salve's text on it, and it doesn't counter a spell. It's a 3/3 cleric and 3 life, according to what he said.
saprolings...how is that in flavor here? hmmm...:confused2:
as for the cleric, meh...3/3 lifegain is playable but not spectacular...where are our urza's power level cards?
EDIT: okay, that cleric is now officially bs...it would be total urza's power level if it was uncommon and easy to get but as it stands its only drawback is its rarity. still, that is just so...stupid. grrr...darn lifegain/beatsticks.
EDIT2: oh s---, this is getting more f---ed up by the minute...so, it has a ridiculous body for a low cost, gives you a quick life boost, and regenrates stuff? does it sing and tapdance too?
the one part that made me gasp was saprolings...
wait... what does that mean about phyrexia, didn't saprolings come from phyrexia?
anyways the bleed spell is okay, life gain can prevent you from dying, so in the late game this might actually allow G/W decks to stall for a turn or two and possibly get back on their feet? the cleric is nice, but i dunno if it should be a rare... i think it might work as a common... but then again i could be wrong on that one.
still, more Ravinca stuff... yay!
Come on people bust out your dusty Verdeloth the Ancient's and Nemata, Grove Guardian's. Yeah Go Saprolings. What is it that Hydro always says, GOGO Saprolings, um..., ... er... It doesn't quite feel the same when it's not a set. But go saprolings anyway
Saprolings!!!!! woot. Actually the life gain bleeder wouldn't be too bad in a mana acceleration deck with birds or the new dual lands/painlands

Ahhh yes, My influence is growing... GOGO Ravnica!!!!
These are some great tidbits Rancored, tell this source thanks form me, and keep on doing what you're doing brother, we love it!!!!
I'm really quite fond of that cleric for W/G decks, it'd be awesome at 1WG cc, but 1WWG is still pretty good. Yay for more Rav goodness!
saprolings are kinda MEH IMHO, I prefer squirells.
The cleric is playable and cool. I think I might have to play G/W lifegain beats when RAV rolls around. I mean, they have been pushing G/W to make it viable. The bleed spell is sort of meh though.

Okay I had a quick chat with the guy who gave us this info, via AIM. Here's the pertinent tidbits, and yes I asked him if I could post the conversation we had:
true, sorry, I got it second hand so there are some errors
it's actually a 4/4 not a 3/3
also the cc is 2WG not 1WWG, sorry
should be able to confirm this in a bit, will let you know
So that would make it:
Something -
Creature - Cleric (R)
When Something comes into play, gain 3 life.
4/4
Wow... it was good before, but that's more like it! Seems like quite a bang for your buck. Maybe he's got something wrong... that seems a bit too big...
I'll update the first post in the thread so people don't get confused.
With aluren, temporal adept, eternal witness, and nature's revolt in play, I can gain infinite life. Whee.
But yeah, that's overcosted just a tad. It probably cost 5 in development but then somebody made a combo deck with it and they toned it down. Cause they obviously hate combo decks. *cries*
Hurray, the cleric is a 4/4 for 4. Now it's actually good. If it really was the other version, i would have placed it in that whole 'bad rare that wizards likes to make'.
As for the cleric, are we now staring at the new Ravenous Baloth ??? It looks like it, and most likely it'll play just like ol' good Onslaught days. I'm beginning to like Ravnica more and more every day. Also, I don't think it is undercosted, it just fits green and white creature theme, joining the best of the two worlds (efficient critters and fatties in one convenient package)
Oh geez... maybe I should just wait until tomorrow to post this... every time I turn around, something changes!
okay back
sorry again but there's another ability, you pay 2WG and sacrifice him to regenerate target creature
also he's a loxodon not just a cleric, and maybe legendary
talking to my friend right now to confirm it
I must say it's getting a little silly. The guy has given plenty of good info and I don't doubt this, but... it keeps changing. And now he can trade himself to keep another guy alive? *sigh*... oh well, here goes:
Incredible Changing Loxodon -
(Legendary?) Creature - Elephant Cleric (R)
When Incredible Changing Loxodon comes into play, gain 3 life.
:symg:, Sacrifice Incredible Changing Loxodon: Regenerate target creature.
4/4

I'll edit the first post AGAIN.
I am personally thrilled that I will always know this guy as Incredible Changing Loxodon even though mechanically he doesn't change a darn thing . He's darn good though--I was wondering for a while how it was rare, with Ravenous Baloth and other more impressive but similar cards in existence. Now he feels rare, and cool. The most interesting card we've seen so far.

Saporlings!! WOOT!
I do like the "bleed mechanic though, it's nice.
EDIT: second
Nice cards, though I don't think the bigger Venerable Monk is worth it's rarity.
*Saproilings woohoo cool i guess! This solves then the littlecreature type that hadnt been in sets recently
Remember, kids: Never fight with Flashback, 'cause Flashback always wins.

no. saprolings are green creatures that are basically animated fungus. they are definitely not phyrexian.

The bullet of justice caps evil's a$$.
I now officially love Rav.
The cleric is going into my extended g/w slide deck. Thats just silly life gain. Being a 4/4 is good as well.
Wow, that version is excellent. I can easily see the card seeing play in Standard in that form.
