I like both of the cards very much...I always liked chimeric staff, and this is definitely an, ahem, perverted (read: different) twist on the card.

Lies! -I'm Buffy Summers, town tracker. I used my ability on you and saw that you didn't use any abilities before the game started. My flavor is I was sucked through a mysterious space-time portal and I'm here to kill all the vampires, and my tracking ability is a combination of my Slayer and Native American skills.
I like playing my WW deck and Verdict will be a nice card to have around. I can see it being used to slap some sneaky creatures around. Think you are going to slip out your fav Ninja on me? Hah! Take that!

Terashi's Verdict is very powerful. White is going to be a force in block constructed A FORCE I TELL YOU! The artifact (whose name i do not remember) interests me from a design standpoint. First the shoals, now this. SOme kind of block super fast Blazing discard reanimator deck might have potential. Artifact, discard fatty, reanimate fatty w/ the gains haste sac at end of turn spell not the sucky one. that the fatty's converted cost+the fatty's power in damage.
I have a question can I turn the Tora into a creature by discarding a 1 mana cost creature and when hes unblocked can I activate his ability again and discard I don't know a Myjion ao hes a 10/10 unblocked?
By the way it reads, yes you can "In response to blockers being declared, I will pay 2 and discard this 7cc spirit, making Tora a 7/7". You could even do it to kill someones fatty. Tricky.

first turn workshop/dark ritual, tora
second turn, [swamp, dark ritual]/black lotus/grim monolith,
drop Dragon Tyrant to make Tora 10/10 Shallow Grave Dragon Tyrant, attack for 22, gg!
Verdict- Pretty good, but probably not useful enough to be played outside of limited and block constructed. (Why couldn't it have been creatures with power 3 or greater? sigh.)
Slumbering Tora- Ignoring the costs, this is a good card. Definitely limited material and may see some play in some kind of spiritcraft deck in block (the B/G most likely...).
"It is just that we should be grateful, not only to those with whose views we may agree, but also to those who have expressed more superficial views; for these also contributed something, by developing before us the powers of thought." ~Aristotle
Tora is a handy way to get rid of duplicate copies of Kodama South in the Spirit deck. I don't think it'll get used much there becase it doesn't become a Spirit, only an artifact creature.
tora can be a good card, but there isnt much reanimate stuff in t2. other types will have more so yes there is a big use for it. verdict is a good card for removal, but its only good when they have no hand and/or just little crappy guys that just run around. recouperate is a better card.
I must say Cube Drafting is Fun. Since its mostly the only drafting i do.
Attack step ok, oh wait i would like to cryptic command. im sorry its too late to do that.
Anyway, I don't like Slumbering Tora very much, but Terashi's Verdict is just more cheap removal for white *grumbles* so it's good but I hate it. Stupid white. (No, I don't mean you guys)
Hm... what about a sort of "Hidden Strike" deck? With the Jade Idol and Slumbering Tora plus some Genju, then mass removal spells like Final Judgement, Hideous Laughter, etc. I'm talking block mind you. In T2 you have Guardian Idol as well, and better mass removal like ***.

terahsis verdict is cool. quite situational but definately useable. and slumbering tora.... wow. now theres something to look at. fragile being an artifact of course but it has a lot of potential. finally a good artifact out of this block.
The Tora is interesting. Capable of big things, but overall it's a big beater than make you run out of gas.
Verdict in interesting, as stated it is a nice cheap (if marginally conditional) creature removal for withe. Something that might finally see constructed play.
Why do people like the Tora so much? You have to have an expensive card in your hand every time you want to use it! How many big expensive creatures do you want in your deck in the first place?
It's only good with reanimation, but the reanimation that's availible so far isn't that good.

Terashi’s Verdict - :1mana::symw:
Instant - Arcane (U)
Destroy target attacking creature with power 3 or less.
It's a surprise, it's Arcane, and it's cheap white creature kill. I think it kills about half the creatures out there, on average. Decent!
This card isn't all it appears to be cracked up to be in limited. Sure, it kills Throat Cutters and Ninjas and a good amount of Samurai, but it doesn't kill the bombs. The limited bombs in this set are hard to deal with as it is because all of the removal that takes care of them is limited to Cage of Hands, the Rends, and now Hirobi's Whisper. In most cases, it takes a very great amount of burn to bring down Dragon Spirits and whatnot (although the burn removes them from the game, so their graveyard triggers don't go off =p). I'm sure this will probably go in before the 20-23rd card in many cases, but it doesn't deal with the biggest threats you'd need to take care of w/ removal.

Slumbering Tora -
Artifact (R)
:2mana:, Discard a Spirit or Arcane card: Slumbering Tora becomes an X/X artifact creature until end of turn, where X is the discarded card's perverted mana cost. Chimeric Staff? This is a little cheaper, but requires you to empty your hand... although it has the potential to be nice and meaty if you discard a Myojin. I don't like it, but I bet some people will. You perverts.
Buh... no? In limited, you keep Myojin and whatnot in your hand so you can win the second you play them- not so you can play a one shot 10/10 that your opponent can block with a Deadelf. The fact that you're limited to spirits and arcane spells... most of the playable arcane/spirits are the ones you're going to want to cast while the smaller ones don't have a high enough cost to make this card useful. I think this card is better suited for comparison with that card from 5d... yano, the terrible one because it was in with the likes of Fireball. At least you had a good deal of control over how big it was without overcomitting resources to it for a potentially fatal short burst.
Terashi’s Verdict - :1mana::symw:
Instant - Arcane (U)
Destroy target attacking creature with power 3 or less.
meh... at least it doesn't say 'destroy target creature that dealt damage to you this turn with power 3 or less.' it's another removal spell for white, but not a very stellar one. still... removal is removal (i'm talking, of course, limited here...).

meh.
chances are i'd rather cast the spell i'm discarding unless i'm going to win with the damage, or i need to block to prevent a loss. i think i'd rather play river kaijin...
