I don't think this will be particularly useful until after Mirrodin rotates out. It's simply too slow to deal with ravager reliably, and doesn't have the advantage of cycling that AV did (as well as destroying everything, but I digress). After Mirrodin, there will likely be some kind of recurring soulshift deck that emerges, and this will be an excellent foil for it - but most of the time, removing the creatures from the game is chrome and you'd just as soon have a ***.
Block, of course, it'll be a house, but all board sweepers are houses in block.
If they costed this at 5, there would be no reason to have soulshift in the block; it would be effectively neutered. It's the same reason that AV cost so much in the creature block, or why mirrodin didn't have global artifact removal.
This begs the question: If I had a Soulshift 3 creature in play and a 2cc spirit in play, and a Wrath of God is put through, can the Soulshift 3 bring back the 2cc creature?
preety solid, not as much as akromas vengence but it will change white control decks in standard. Too bad isnt enough to revive UW control, counters just arent viable in the current metagame
That's to be seen though, isn't it? There sure are enough solid counterspell variants out there, and with this, white has a very solid removal base.

No more Colossus!! >:) Haha, but anyways, this card is pretty good. For the extra 2 mana, I would rather remove them from the game than to the graveyard. That way theres no way for them to come back. Keep em coming R_E!
hmm. i like it. Buts whats all this fus over it not costing 2WW. If it was costed the same, it would be directly superior, and wizards usually doesnt kill their iconic staple cards. I mean come on, think of white, you get soldiers, serra angel (akroma if youre newer..) and ***, WotC doesnt want this to be 500% better than wrath! Anyway, its basically a better Solar tide, with no drawback. The only thing that made solar tide SOMEWHAT good was the power thing, if you were playin all low power creatures, clean up your opponents side, or vice a versa... stops the weenie rush.. I believe this will be a very good white support card in CBS block, as well as a nice 2nd pack support bomb in draft.
On a side note, has anyone noticed there are ALOT of limited draft bombs in this set (nothing like OLS tho). Meloku, Hikari, Konda, Takeno, "draw card snake", "basilisk power snake", and many many more.. basically, if you open one of these, and are a decent player, you win.. <pm me with comments on this side note.>

I'd say it's about as likely as a cat surviving 10 min in a microwave.
Neat. This card definitely has its place in dealing with your more persistent creatures - it gets around indestructible, which is nice, and deals with other annoyances. I wouldn't be unhappy to have a couple of these (litotes).
I recently made a card (I have to much spare time) with the same effect and almost same cost, but i had a major drawback in my card (you had to skip a turn). I would never have thought they would really make a mass remove from the game spell.
This card is powerful...(I think i can forget about the Kokushu reanimator deck (Althow it does win in turn 5, when opponent doesn't have 6 lands.))

i had made a card with the same effect , and no, no drawback but an adventage... draw a card 3 months ago.
Seems good to me, 6 mana my be alot but hey its doable. I mean comeon everyone uses Pristine Angel in T2 so why not use this awsome spell? Thanks again R_E keep it coming!!
being a big fan of white (i came to realise that all 5 of my decks run it :wierd4:), i REALLY like what this card can do. i think we could easily see some white/green decks that will RULE. with a little mana accell you could run both this AND wrath. what a pain! i'm wishing it was instant, but then it would be WAY too overpowered. can't do much against a Kiki'd DS with it unless you ran Etherial Haze or Holy Day to keep yourself alive long enough to use it.
this is definately the best wrath varient in a long while. (im not coundting akromas vengeance)
for sure useful in block, and good for other constructed ppl who maybe cant get ahold of a playset of wraths. but something on a bit more power level with akromas vengeance would have been real nice.
Sweet. Gotta love the (Plyable) wrath varients. At least in block, anyway (Which is ok since I don't really plan on getting into standard until mirrodin rotates out)
However, I doubt that this was the "White instant that got changed into a sorcery to balance cost", mainly because sweepers don't usually start as instants (Heck, anything's possible; it might have started out as an instant RFG wrath for 5WW, then R&D decided that making a wrath that cost seven mana would make it unplayable...) Personally, I'm hoping that there is going to be a decent StP Varient in this block, and that's what I hope that statement was referring to.

I have to say, i'm happy that the Myojin wasn't this block's wrath variant. white-based control may come back now. i doubt it, but there's still a chance
Thanks for the great info, R_E!
Very, very nice. It's the new "Akroma's Vengeance" for U/W control. Not only is it most likely wraths 5-7 (who'd run 4, just who?) but dramatically increases matchups for B/G, and T&N. Plus with Hinder and this card, U/W can put a stranglehold on a little card known as Eternal Witness. Graveyard where? I thought so. 6 mana is alot nowadays, but it is a SECONDARY wrath. Good old wrath of god will always be in the deck x4 first (well, hopefully anyway...).
very nice, Thank You!!!!

Wow...this card is unbelievably good, so much so that i cannot understand why WoTC would print it...but then again, i say that about a lot of cards that they print...do they test these cards at all before printing? That being said, control decks are gonna rule the day again...I HATE W/x control...grrrr

hmmmm...
the CC being 2 more than *** makes it less appealing, but the effect is nice. i like that it handles the indestructible creature and the collosus in particular. this could be a huge game swinger in limited. look for this spell at the prerelease. it'll make a difference.
6 mana to remove all the creatures from the game. Not very good against Affinity, but pretty strong against everthing else, especially all the dragons, Collosus's and Titans. It will only get better in T2 when Mirrodin rotates out.

I don't know if it will see much play in Standard, but it's definitely gold in block.

It is well known that emphasis is placed on creatures these days.
R&D have said Wrath is overpowered for its effect (in type 2 these days)
This is a logical replacement.
