I would lean towards the first choice. The reason I support that is the same reason I believe they entered them as four separate items; collector number. They kept the same collector number on each of the decks as they were originally printed in. So that means there are four cards in Anthologies that are number one. Add onto the fact that they retained their original symbol as well and I think there's a strong argument for keeping them separate though they are sold as one.
I was slightly leaning toward #1 before reezel mentioned the collector numbers. Given what reezel said it's more than a lean for me. I think option 1 is the clear winner.

My MTG Site: Graceful Stats (deckbuilding website that actually works on mobile)
I'm trying to do a statistical regression analysis on all cards to figure out the intrinsic cmc of all abilities and properties of cards and I'm basing this on your data. Is there any chance that rarity and set will be added to each card?
In the 'AllSets.json' file, every card has a rarity and each card is part of a set, so you have all the information you need right there.
Would it be possible to add to this database which sets have been release online? I know that there is an "onlineOnly" property, but I don't see any way to identify sets that have never been release online vs sets that have been release on both.

It's something I could think about adding in the future. I have added it to my to-do list.
I'm going to have a Magic website up and running in about 2 months. I've been using your JSON and Image files and I'd like to thank you publicly on my website so I was wondering if I should put you up as Sembiance or if you wanted me to use another name?

Hello
You don't need to thank me by name, you can just say like 'thanks to mtgjson.com and mtgimage.com' Or if you don't want to put links, that's fine too, no need for thanks, your reply here is enough
Yeah sure! I'll definitely put up links for both mtgjson.com and mtgimage.com on my site in the Shout Out section. We can trade links if you'd like. Or if you don't want you don't have to. I don't have anything up at the moment since I'm building it on my local machine and my wife is the only person that has seen it other than myself.
I'll keep you posted though. Thank you for the awesome resource!
awkward issue with coldsnap snow basics: they are present in boosters, but the coldsnap booster field does not have a 'land' item. gatherer says they are commons, while mtgjson has them as 'basic land'. i'm not sure if this is even an issue, or if it's just confusing.
edit: the coldsnap booster field is correct if we accept that snow basics sometimes have the rarity 'basic land', and sometimes 'common'
Lastly,
What about over sized cards, and gold bordered cards?

Here's some data on the ugin's fate promos I gathered. Each card is in a json array. http://pastebin.com/F7t68bZw
The Set code appears to be FRF_UGIN from gatherer.
Also why does Nalathni Dragon have no multiverse ID? It's id is 97050.
Good luck, Sembiance. Yours is the best API out there for card data - it'd be a real shame if they shut it down
Do you know what the legal ramifications might be for sites making use of card images in general - i.e., is it the fact that the images could be downloaded without any copyright disclaimers displayed alongside the principal problem?

Sembiance, I just want to thank you for your services. MTG Image was incredibly useful to me and dozens of other website and app creators. It makes no sense to me why Wizards would want to deny the community tools to create content about the game we play.
Hopefully they won't demand that mtgjson.com be shutdown as well, but who knows.
It makes me wonder what the criteria is for displaying cards on a website. You can find all the images on www.mythicspoiler.com easily. And they have at the bottom of their website, "Magic: The Gathering is TM and copyright 2013 Wizards of the Coast | MythicSpoiler.com is unaffiliated with Wizards of the Coast". Based on what I know about copyright they have to enforce copyright universally. They can't just tell a particular website, "hey you can't use our images." I'd definitely look into it and get some more details.
TCGPlayer also has "Magic the Gathering and its respective properties are copyright Wizards of the Coast" at the bottom of their page and they display all the card images on their site. I would look into it since you weren't doing anything for commercial purposes. It could be that it wasn't clear to a naive user that the images you provide are just a developer resource.

They certainly can. They have no obligation to be fair in the licensing of their own content. Even if they had a general license that said "You can use our images" (which they don't), they are free to revoke that from whomever for whatever reason they want.
I'm pretty sure that attribution is the key point here - all the other sites mentioned clearly display a copyright message attributing ownership of the images and related trademarks to Wizards. The license for their fan kits states that anything of theirs that you display must be displayed with a legal disclaimer.
The fact that mtgimage.com allowed direct downloads of card images without any of the accompanying legal baggage is probably what sparked off their lawyers.
At least I hope that's it - otherwise we could all be in trouble.

Yea. I wonder if he can remedy the issues, and contact wizards.
The nice thing was that file was small, just had up to like 5 values s, m, r, u, c. I think that would be a nice addition to each set. Otherwise I have to query each card.

I think the best solution there, if you're not doing it already, is to download the individual set files once (unless they change, which for the purposes of rarity data is highly unlikely), and then store the relevant values in your app in a data structure of your own making, rather than parsing the entire JSON file each time you want to refer to the data

Just gonna quote this because I never had response.
MTGJSON doesn't currently support foreign language only cards. Thus MTGJSON only includes a set if an English version exists on Gatherer or MagicCards.info as this is where I get the data from. The set you mentioned does exist on magiccards.info but only in Japanese (http://magiccards.info/mps/jp.html) and mtgjson doesn't have support to parse this yet.

It's all about where I can get the data from. I don't want to be in the work of manually maintaining sets. So I only include data that I can automate to some degree by fetching the data programatically from an online source. Right now those two sources are gatherer and magiccards.info. I have a 'partial' parser for magiclibrarities but do not have support for exclusively using magiclibrarities as a source of card listings. I see that magiclibrarities does have info on the oversized cards so I could add support to MTGJSON for them. I've added it on the to-do list, but it's not a very high priority right now.
