Trying to register, I went Cockatrice>Register to server> host: cockatrice.woogerworks.com port 4748 and it just says server timeout. Then it tries to connect to server and it says socket error: the remote host closed the connection. Are the servers down or am I doing it wrong?

I have been using 4747 consistently with no issue as long as I have known about Cockatrice, both on the woogerworks server and on the previous server. 4747 will work. 4747 is a port that is used by many applications though....you may have an internal issue of some sort with your system. Check your firewall and such if it comes down to you needed to. 4747 and 443 are the ports listed on the official woogerworks page, as I linked above. I do not recall 4748 ever having been in use by any relevant Cockatrice server.
Haven't connected to Cockatrice in a couple of months, but when I tried to now, I get an error message, as follows: "Your client does not support features that the server requires, please update your client and try again." (screenshot attached) I've been using cockatrice.woogerworks.com.

I decided to look into it some more, and here's what happened:
When I got the error message, I clicked on the option that said "show details", and looked at the problem - it told me I was missing some file (something about idle... ? sorry don't remember exactly). I then Googled for that file name and Cockatrice, and one of the hits brought me to the following link:
The newer version of Cockatrice, at least according to this site, is Cockatrice All Hallows Eve Version 2. I downloaded the appropriate version for my operating system, uninstalled the previous Cockatrice already resident on my computer (but do NOT remove your decks, settings, and that stuff), and installed the new version.
I need help with the card database, is missing most of the Kamigawa block flip cards. Do I add them manually in a custom set file or is there a place where I can download a full cards.xml file with all the cards in it (no cards missing)
Where would I find the 5 dci archenemy promos under in the sets? Thanks
~Lil Kalki
I never found them. So I ended up making them as a custom set.
Can I also ask about bugs or problems with Cockatrice in this thread? I have the most recent version installed but card images aren't downloading. However, it has me scratching my head because it's not a question of no card images being downloaded; most card images aren't downloading. Some cards download but others don't download at all. I leave them selected for a very long time or have the deck open in a game and they simply never download. Any help on how to solve this issue? Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone i started to play in cockatrice for testing new decks i create (forfun and not) and playing with other guys.I calculate, so, percentuals for looking what modification i can make. But there is a problem, everytime i play i can win aa match but, after, i draw only lands or cards not useful. Not sometimes, everytime. For example: testing a deck with 4 leyline of sanctity in maindeck, 20+ games, no one i started with one in my initial hand. Another example, everytime i am playing and i have an advantage and i need one of 15 cards in my deck for winning for sure, happened that i draw constantly lands and no creature, that could be useful, also if in this devk i have 7+ fetch. A lot of deck i play, also made from myself, won a lot of tournament, small and medium buti see a big difference between the real games and thei game in cockatrice, so i wanna ask you if someone know something, probably is a bug or there is a special algoritm... i don't know but i find no sense play if i know mathematically that i lose because i draw 7-8 times lands.
Cockatrice is an old software and bugs in drawing probabilities should have been long fixed. Also Cockatrice is open source so these bugs are easy to find and easy to fix. Gamers tend to blame random number generator for no reason. I mean sometimes they think probabilities are lower than proper ones but in reality they do this without statistical analysis and/or without calculating what proper probabilities should look like. This seems to be the case here.
How van i understand if my deck works inin this situation? Thanks
Tbh Id just check my decklist card numbers and believe Cockatrice is working well. If you want to test it, define what probability you want to test, lets say % of starting hands with Leyline given 4 Leylines maindeck. Then run big number of tests, say 100. Then google 'hypergeometric test' to know how to interpret results, because rolling three sixes in a row doesnt mean dice is unfair.

I get this error when trying to update the card list (Oracle):
"The program can't start because QtNetwork.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
I reinstalled it a couple of times already and no dice. It connects just fine to the server but I can't update the card database. Any ideas/suggestions?

the proper port is either 4747 or 443 as can be seen on this page on the woogerwoprks site: http://www.woogerworks.com/offered-services.html
additionally there actually was server maintenance recently. I just checked and the server is definitely up at the time of this post.
Any advice?

So far it's been working just fine!

I'm having problems with the aftermath cards appearing as two different cards instead of using the "//" format like other split cards.
