Any idea where I can find the registry key, in vista, for MWS? I want to copy over the key to "play" to test out the solo mode using different decks.

I admittedly haven't used it in a few years, but now there are 0 people in every chat forum. Have people moved on to a new program I'm unaware of? Where is everyone?

Not a single person uses MWS Chatroom Feature. The people who did fail at life to begin with. If you want to find a game do the following:

Open up MWSPlay 0.94f
Press F2
Load A Deck
Select: Connect via the Internet or LAN
Press Start Game
Where it says "Enter your opponent IP:" enter one of the following:
mwsplay.net
mwsgames.net
mws.magic-league.com
Then Press Call

You can also go to Magic-League and look for people to play in their chat room.

Ok, so I downloaded 7zip from the site Kburts recommended, and I've tried to unpack the slightlymagic.net masterbase, but my computer says I don't have the software to unpack it. Help?

double click on the 7Z gui in your 7z folder, it will be one of the 3 (i believe) executable files, and it will look like a white box, drag the .rar file into it

then it will go BEEEEEP (not really) then you will see files and folders, put them into your magic workstation folder, overwriting the old cards and VOALA you are good to go!

I am a little confused; I don't see anything marked as gui.

Okay, so i think I've unpacked it, but it's opened in a type of box i'm not familiar with, furthermore, what exactly do I need to copy over? Just the Masterbase?

I'm sorry if this question has already come up somewhere else, but I haven't yet been able to find it anywhere else.

When trying to create a sealed deck, Alara Reborn boosters come up as 10 card boosters. I assume there's just a simple text edit to this in some file, but I haven't figured out where it is. Some help please?


(Also, the mythic rarity is way off....I have gotten as many as 3 mythic rares in a single booster, though I suspect this is a different issue all together.)

yeah, don't make sealeds on it it was made in '04 i think, so it puts i think 1 mythic in every pack, but then again, sealed is not really needed

Here is my tale of woe. I have a Mac. I'm not a Windows guy. I use a program called Wine to run PC programs on my Mac. When MWS is up and running, it is through X11, which is in my Utilities folder. I managed to get MWS loaded and running a year or so ago. I even managed to load in a new Master Card Base, though there were no images for the new cards (back then it was Conflux). I can't seem to load any new images, or get any new Master Card Bases. There doesn't seem to be a MWS folder anywhere on my computer that I can put things in or out of. My "folder" is simply a Wine logo that reads Magic Workstation.
In order to use the "new" database I downloaded, I needed to go to Open Library in MWS. I've never had success trying to install any images.
Does anyone have any idea how I can download a current database, with images?
The last database that worked is a master.mwbase.

i downloaded mwspa and it doesn't have zendikar or m10 for that matter.

i've read you need to get them via torrent but i don't have a torrent program either.

i actually have everything i needed on my friend's computer but i can't for the life of me remember how i did it.

USB from your friend's computer will save you about a day...

www.utorrent.com is a trusted torrent downloader.

MWSPA is sloooooooow btw, it is mostly just for finishing your collection

I feel like such a n00b asking this, but here goes...haven't played for about a year, now I'm trying to update the newest cards. Got the latest Masterbase, and updated it and the Data/Sets file. Now when I open MWS the new cards still aren't there. I go to filter cards and Zendikar, etc shows in that filter window, but when I select the new cards the only things that show up are a bunch of tokens and junk.

I've done the File->Assign Default Master Base and Inventory Base to the new files too. I know I've updated before with no issues so I'm really perplexed here. Any help much appreciated.

Can somoene link me to a file or site that will get me all the pics for all the sets up to Zendikar? I'm having an annoyingly hard time trying to get my cards to have images.

MWS Picture Assistant

Having another issue. Ever since the reinstall, I can't run any themes. I have tried two different themes to get Modern frames and everytime I save it in the preferences MWS crashes. Can anyone help?

well it says it quite clearly in the theme installation instructions but...

1. Sometimes MWS just shuts down then trying to change the theme. Try to delete "Custom Sets" folder, then open the program and change theme under interface as directed.

hello all

i'm pretty new to MWS so maybe somebody can give me a hint here.
i try to play a online game and connect to mwsplay.net ... but i'm only getting the error message : Could not receive data(10054: Connection reset by peer). i just checked my internet connectivity and beside mws everything is just fine.
is this a general error from the server side? cause it was working perfectly fine a few hours ago.

I have the same exact problem. I think it may have to do with the servers.

are there any other servers to connect to beside mwsplay.net and mwsgames.net (which is also not working) ???
