I'd download the program because I like facing the computer over actual players sometimes. I just wish it was updated for the current Standard Format. But the problem is I can't get it because I'm not an admin on my computer and my admin won't let me do it on his account. Do you think you can change it so that non-admins can install it, if possible?
Wow. That really sucks; somebody else making money off of your work. I'll bet knowledge of this would make WotC happy. Especially since it claims to be licensed. Hmm... Maybe somebody should write WotC about it?
You should have made a free distribution license. Y'know, one of those ones that requires that you transmit the license in its entirety to any parties who get the software from you, and that the program is open source?
It doesn't limit the other party's ability to sell it for money, however it does force that party to make buying parties aware of the license, which gives them the knowledge that they probably don't have to pay for it.

It seems wierd that somebody else can make money on my stuff, but I'm OK with it. Technically my program is Open Source meaning that you can sell it or give it away as long as you include the source code. (In real life most people don't need or want the source code.)
I'm just glad that people enjoy my project. There is a new version that you can download here. And in case you didn't read the whole thread, my program lets you play Magic against the computer for free.
MTG Forge is a program that lets you play Magic against the computer using all of the rules. It has more than 1,300 cards and also lets you play sealed and draft. Some of Magic's most powerful cards are included like Lighting Bolt, all the Moxes, Timetwister as well as newer cards like Child of Alara and Nicol Bolas Planeswalker. There is also a brand new quest mode which you start out with a few cards and then you have to win more. Unfortunately the questing is not like Shandalar and it is only menu based, but it is better than nothing.
Thanks for this program. Actually, in some ways I like this program over Shandalar. It's fun to play a different sort of quest mode. I enjoy the fact that, instead of obtaining gold and using that to buy singles, you're given random cards as prizes instead and use that to build onto your initial pile of random cards. Plus, the AI seems to be improved over Shandalar by a large margin.
Great job!

Great work so far! It's really well done for AI. There are some glitches such as kabuto moth giving my creature +3/+0 and my opponent not using his bottle gnomes when they have lethal damage stacked. But overall it's a great start.
I love this program... too bad im at work so I cant test it fully.
I have noticed that the AI used Elvish Piper to bring Akroma in, then did the same thing on another Akroma in his hand.
- Briarhorn - Gives my creature +6/+0 when brought into play, and at end of turn promptly kills my creature by removing the +3/+3 bonus that was never granted (resulting in -3/-3, killing my birds of paradise)
- Infernal Ki-rin - Shows up as a vanillia black 3/3 flying
- Baru, fist of Krosa - the +1/+1 bonus on it was permanent everytime he played a land
couple of glitches i have found the computer will -10 me with chandra when she doesnt have enough counters on here. also one i saltblasted her and the computer did here -10 agien with out her on the field.
Quest mode is when you start with a few cards and you have to build your deck using only those cards. After you built your deck you can play against one of the AI's decks. In easy mode, you will get new cards if you win or lose a game. The goal is to get to level 10 and become world champion.
I just posted a new version with better quest decks.
Looks cool, but I can't play it on my current computer; not because of any system requirements, but because I'm using a small laptop with a very low resolution. It would be cool if it could scale a little more. I'll definitely test this out on PC with a higher resolution though.

Juzam Djinn was a good creature when creatures sucked.
Otherwise, looks mighty fine.

Just download the zip file instead of the exe. Unzip the zip file into a directory and run "run-forge.exe" I hope that helps.
Yeah Juzam Djinn sucked, but I didn't know that untill I actuall programmed him and used him in a real game. At least know you know Juzam stinks, lol.
I hope people are still downloading and playing my game, I know I am --Forge
One more question: I'm able to add my own cards to the database right? And if I do, I'm guessing it doesn't know suspend?
The reason I ask is because I want to build my current T2/Standard deck on there.
Is this program still available?

You should implement a "if you paid for this then you're a moron" warning into the next version.
