This seems like a really simple question, i had used OCTGN v1 and just came back for v3, but I'm having problem trying to figure out the proper format to have the search features work on the mana symbols. I tried some web searches but i'm just not finding it. i remember in v1 just {G} would be a green mana symbol but different variants don't seem to work anymore. This would really help with build with Chroma or the new devotion mechanic in mind.
You can play sealed. Once you start the game one person chooses "Start Limited Game" from the menu, picks the boosters (from any set) and then a window opens on all players screens with the cards in your pool. You put what you want in your deck and the rest in your sideboard then save your deck and play.

apparently you can rig it up to work on mac and linux via Wine, its not something I've had experience in and it's not 'officially' supported by the OCTGN dev team though. There's a link for info on setting Wine up here: https://github.com/kellyelton/OCTGN/wiki/OCTGN-on-non-Windows-systems
But wine is a pretty bad answer. You can run any PC software with wine. It's still goin. To have a ton of glitches, or just plain not really work. One of the reasons cockatrice is popular is because it works on Mac and PC with out having to worry about being computer savvy.
which is why it isn't officially supported by the dev team. OCTGN is heavily built off the .NET framework which is Windows-based, so the current codebase simply cannot be ported over to non-windows environments without a massive redesign (which is something they want to do, but not at this time).
One of the big problems, at least in my eyes, is that a lot of the perks and advantages OCTGN has over other programs, both visually and technically, is due to the offerings of the .NET framework. If that gets stripped away, it loses a lot of it's charm and uniqueness.
Hello, me and 2 family members are playing, recently we have been experiencing a bug.
The third(last) person to join the lobby before starting the game has card alignment issues. and it dont matter who the third person is, it can be me or it can be my girlfriend, or her sister, result is always the same, third person to join has the issue.
stuff is showing up on the board below "the stack" like normally if you play a land it goes with your other land cards and they snap together, this is not working for the third player.
Also we get the following message:
"Cannot set sideflip: Too many players on your side of the table."
EDIT: More information.... the third player to join, if the host has "use 2 sided table checked" then its showing "A" for all three players, but on the hosts and player two it shows correctly, for example:
there have been numerous enhancements to OCTGN's sealed deck editor, including the ability to import card pools. This is very useful for players wishing to Draft through external apps (such as www.tappedout.net). If you try to load a deck into OCTGN's sealed deck editor, it will load the cards as a sealed pool, allowing you to build a deck through the enhanced sealed editor. You can also build your deck via the external apps and load the deck directly into an OCTGN game, to bypass the sealed editor.
Finally, the sealed deck editor now allows you to add extra packs into your sealed pool. This is very handy in the event you forgot to add an unlimited basic lands pack to the sealed pool, or if you would prefer specific basic land arts (such as ZEN or UNH full-arts). It also lets you load one of the RTR or THS seeded pre-release boosters to replicate the pre-release experience. When adding additional boosters, you can choose to add the packs to everybody's pool, or just to your own.
I've been working on an online API that allows you to fetch OCTGN's GUIDs for cards, which can be useful for deck exporters (especially on draft sim sites). If anyone is interested in incorporating an OCTGN deck export feature into their site, let me know and I can provide the information.
This issue was solved in another location, if anyone else experiences this:
What you are seeing in the photo is the MTG plugin's "Proxy" template being used to generate a card image from the data available. You will see these cards when you do not have the actual card scan installed. A list of all available card packs (image packs) can be found at http://www.octgngames.com/mtg
Some of the card images for Battle for Zendikar are misplaced: Rush of Ice, Scatter to the Winds, and Tightening Coils. Also the Expedition don't have any card images. Plus, Kiora, Master of the Depths has a Japanese image rather than an English one. I have the latest card image pack for BFZ and the game definition is updated (both dated 09/25).

which I believe is directly related to the bug.
we have been playing manually moving the pieces for whoever is third player, so this is great to hear.
but nothing happens.
There is a handy OCTGN deck editor plugin (http://octgn.gamersjudgement.com/wordpress/deckconverter) that allows you to convert decks to OCTGN's format.

Thanks for any help.
Thanks in advance.
