I'm not convinced that you are actually playing real opponents in the quick battle section. My record is 111-8 with 3 of those losses due to the app crashing.

You're not. You play against the cpu but the decks are designed by other players
Still playing this game ever since the beginning, although with less vigor due to constant login crashes.
Anyway, I have to say that so far, the BfZ cards are mostly ok, though I have yet to play with the Eldrazis thanks to lacking cards. Oh, and the second round of planeswalker nerfing was mostly on the spot; Gideon still having Vigilance at later levels can still be an issue though, considering things like Consul's Liutenant. Jace got hit quite hard now that his -X/-0 ability costs a lot, but then again I somehow prefer playing him as, ironically, aggro, thanks to having access to more cost-efficient creatures (4/4 flying for 9 mana and fetch a card? Wow)
My main pet peeve right now is that we can no longer buy even the basic 3-card packs with mana runes, whereas before, 800 mana runes will net you, well, three commons, sometimes better, but that's better than nothing.
Looking forward to crafting also considering now we have disenchanting extras, but I somehow have my doubts on that.... On their side, that would ruin their economy (no one's gonna spend money on crystals anymore), on my side, some cards (like Harbinger Of The Tide) are still far too broken to be so easily available.
New MTG Puzzle Quest player here. I signed up for the D3 Go official forums for the game, but even though I'm logged in I can't find a button or link to post to the dang forums. Thus I'll ask my questions here.
1. When using Support cards, is there any way to chose which gem is affected or is it always random like it seems?
2. When using Spells or Abilities that target gems is there any way to chose which is targeted, or is always the opponent's oldest Support?
3. What causes a player to get to make an extra match?
4. What causes a player to draw a card (other than abilities that say so)?
5. What, if anything, happens when I max out my planeswalker's Loyalty bar during a game?
6. In general, should I only go for Planeswalker gems as a last resort, unless I'm trying to get the specific PW ability?
In general, I find the amount of thinking ahead for gem matching extremely challenging. Given possible matches A, B, and C for the same number of points, which will benefit my opponent least on the next play while also benefiting me the most on my next play? (No, I'm not a very good chess player either.)
1. When using Support cards, is there any way to chose which gem is affected or is it always random like it seems? No. The closest semblance of control is supports tend to appear on gems that match their color.
2. When using Spells or Abilities that target gems is there any way to chose which is targeted, or is always the opponent's oldest Support? No.
3. What causes a player to get to make an extra match? Whenever a player matches five or more gems of the same color, it trips an extra match.
4. What causes a player to draw a card (other than abilities that say so)? Unwritten phases are Upkeep, draw, Main, Attack, pass.
5. What, if anything, happens when I max out my planeswalker's Loyalty bar during a game? The more loyalty you accumulate for a planeswalker, the more times you can spend it. Unlike planeswalkers in the card game, in the app all loyalty is spent. The more you accumulate, the more better abilities you can use and/or the more you can use their minor abilities... as you unlock them.
6. In general, should I only go for Planeswalker gems as a last resort, unless I'm trying to get the specific PW ability? It depends on what you're trying to accomplish.

Given possible matches A, B, and C for the same number of points, which will benefit my opponent least on the next play while also benefiting me the most on my next play? (No, I'm not a very good chess player either.) That's something I'm only beginning to learn now. You just have to pick it up with experience. My rule of thumb is to go for the max amount of mana for me, then if I can't, go instead to ruin their matches.

4. What causes a player to draw a card (other than abilities that say so)?
Unwritten phases are Upkeep, draw, Main, Attack, pass.
So each player does draw a card every turn? It didn't seem like that was the case.
Right, but the Loyalty bar is shown as N/30. What happens if I reach 30/30? Do I simply lose any extra Loyalty I gain from gem matches or does something else happen?

To answer both questions, if you reach the limit, you can't add any more until you spend it. If you hit 30 loyalty, you either have to spend it or sit at 30. If your hand reaches six cards, you either have to cast a card, discard one during your main, or not draw cards.
Also another note about the card hand limit: you can still activate cards or effects that would draw or search cards, but if you have six in hand, the spell/ability with resolve without effect.

I've also been playing this since near the beginning and I'm still enjoying it. Before I was just going through the story for fun, repeating each encounter with all five walkers to try to max out my crystal acquisition. I've got Lil at 60 and the rest around 50. Just started getting into events now.
And the best part is I haven't paid a cent the whole time.
How am I supposed to beat BFZ chapter 3 and the heroic encounters now?
The weird part is that it wasn't THAT difficult to deal with. Any board sweeper would take care of it. You just couldn't target it directly. Oh well, I guess people complained enough.
Among the problems with the carriage is that it forces everyone to play True Faith's Censer at all times (with flier, given Gideon's ability), and that those so-called board sweepers that can handle it are not only symmetrical most of the time (Descend Upon The Sinful, Languish), but are of rare/mythic rarity, and such rare/mythic cards are hard to get. Plus, in case you miss out Saheeli's event, her problem is that she has NO way of tackling the carriage, much less a carriage powered up by Gideon.
Ok, there was one time I win against Gideon/Carriage using a Koth deck that has NO defender (and remember Koth doesn't have Languish of Engulf The Shore), but that was mostly because I already had very strong board control, and Koth's second ability allowed me to trample over the damage for the kill. Otherwise I'd have lost.
But your complaints are justified in some ways, if only because Gaea's Vengeance is a complete ***** for roughly the same reason...
Anyway, not impressed with the current PvE. Stupid AI with stupid overpowered ability and stupid RNG as per normal...

Well, okay, it's true that Crush of Tentacles and Chandra's Ignition are both rare/mythic, but I have both, so I guess I didn't think about it that much.
But – you can also kill it simply with Chandra's second ability. So if you're using her, then you don't have to worry about it at all.
So it's been a few nonths since I last played the game. I thought I'd play it yesterday and to my delight I foumd a few awesome updates. How great is it that we have something to do with duplicate cards now! I was wondering, when getting rid of duplicates how many should I hold on to?

Wow, it has been a while – they changed that like 6 months ago.

Runaway Carriage had Prevent Damage before the patch.

You don't have a choice. The game automatically converts all but 1 copy when you hit the button. You only ever need 1 copy of any single card anyway.

Oh right. But then it must have been nerfed before update 1.7 because I was killing it in this way like 2 weeks ago.
BTW – if anyone is looking for a coalition to join, choose Bonehunters9!
What's the 9 for? We don't know! But it's 9!
9! 9! 9!.
A few of us were in a dying coalition so we broke away and started our own. We're looking for anyone who will at least play some events and contribute (but we're not super hardcore or anything, don't worry).
Is it just me or is the Sigil of the Empty Throne match a real pain in the butt? The deck plays nothing but Flyers and cranks out a steady stream of 4/4 Angel tokens via the Loyalty ability.
