I'm still very happy with Raven Black (matt black) of Ultra Pro.
CON:
- When first sleeved, the library collapses like a Jenga tower.
- After that, they will increase in damage, and sometime a sleeve snaps from misery.
PRO:
- but hey, then I replace that sleeve with a new one. Fun thing is, that way my decks sometimes show a "generation". Some sleeves shiney, others a little dusty. At a tournament people would probably complain, but it's impossible to really see or feel a difference.
- Cards fit nicely
- I like the feel of an ultra-pro sleeve better than other sleeves.
- Easy to get, because different shops sell them.
I bought KMC's perfect size sleeves and a pack of its matte sleeves. I tried to sleeve my T1 deck last night, and it's ridiculously hard to put them together. Once I insert the card with perfect size about half way into the regular sleeve, it becomes ridiculously tight to the point where I have to push the card with the table in order to insert it any farther. Not only that, beyond the half way point, the perfect size sleeve will start to slip out as the card goes in, so when I finish sleeving, the perfect size does not cover the bottom of the card entirely.
Additionally, there seems to be a lot of air that accumulates in the sleeve, and even if I try to pump them out, the air will refill it after some time.
Can anyone enlighten me as to how to best put the perfect size sleeves into a regular size sleeve without extensive force? I'm afraid I might bend my card if I use too much force.
Does anyone have any experience with these Ultra Pro sleeves:
I am in the process of sleeving my cube(and the rest of my decks) and was wondering the quality of these. Due to prices, they look to me like they're UltraPro's "base model" sleeve, like below their standard sleeves(Raven Black etc.) but obviously better than penny sleeves. However, the zipper-bag frightens me, as UP's penny sleeves are sold in packages like that. They're probably not that good, but it's worth a try, seeing as I found them for around a dollar a pack. Are they "good enough?" I'm cheap.
Thank you.
Edit: These sleeves aren't penny sleeves. They are essentially an opaque solid color sleeve, similar to any of the $3 a pack(retail) UP sleeves. I can tell no difference between them and other UP sleeves, in regards to durability/rigidity. There is no hologram. And for $24 per 1000, this was a GREAT deal.
I'm fairly certain those are penny sleeves. If your cube has value to it, look for a distributor site and buy 1000 sleeves at a time for wholesale prices. You won't regret it when you have to transport your cube, shuffle your cube, and play with it.

I've read these (KMC in general) are some of the best sleeves around, but reading the description on the manufacturer's site above, it sounds like I should run these inside regular sleeves.
Has anyone used these 'Perfect Fit' ones before and are they as durable as the regular ones or are they prone to splitting like most other 'penny sleeves' I'm used to? Should I just get regular KMC sleeves and ignore these? (I think two sleeves on a card is a bit ridiculous for my stuff.)
I use these sleeves for all my expensive cards and foils that change decks often as sleeves inside sleeves. They work perfect for what they were designed to do. I put my cards in upside down so when i put them inside the other sleeve the top of the card is fully protected. I would recommend them for expensive cards and foils as they decrease the likelihood that the foil will warp also. Hope that helps.

Unless you have expensive cards to protect or a foiled/pimped out deck, you won't need these.

Does anyone or did anyone use Player's Choice sleeves?
I read that those are Japaneese and come in packs of 60 ... please respond )) thnx!
Player's Choice are also known as the KMC sleeves, made and owned by the same company, player's choice is just their re branded English packaging. They are excellent quality imo, best out of any sleeves i've ever used. The player's choice as I recall do come in packs of 60 (though I can't find nary a distributor that carries these), KMC sleeves used to come in packs of 100 and recently were repackaged in packs of 80 with new packaging design/art.
I think all the solid color Ultra-PROs have moved to satin/matte backs with the holo circle stamp towards the middle of the card, not in the corner, right?
I have bought a couple packs of these recently and they have been much better than than previous Ultra-PRO sleeves I have bought. I really like the new backing vs. the slick/glossy backing that tends to stick together, and it seems like they don't get too worn on the edges anymore.
Besides Ultra Pro, Max Pro, and the Ultra Pro Magic sleeves (Ajani, Bolas, etc.) does anyone know of any other sleeves with non-solid color backs (some kind of art on them)?

Not sure, but i love my dragon shields.
I was never really a fan. =/ I've never owned any myself, but a buddy of mine used exclusively Dragon Pros, which never lasted him for very long.
The biggest thing for me is that all the sleeves in a package are cut at the same length, and Dragon Shields seem pretty terrible in that sense. Does anyone else think that this is inaccurate? I really like that they have Brown colored sleeves.
I think that Ultra Pro is definitely better in that sense, though the one's with pictures on them tend to show wear a little more.
How do people feel about KMC? I have not checked them out at all but I think they may make good sleeves for EDH decks since they come in 100's.
You mean the originals? Yeah.
No one with scans of the Dark Blue KMC Matte Sleeves?
Ultra Pros are like the condoms of sleeves, one time use only.
I use Dragon Shields personally.

Cool that'd be great.
Yea I usually like black. But I like blue if it's on the darker side.

I can't seem to find any KMC sleeves locally, but found a store selling the above mentioned sleeves. Are they any good?
How are they compared to Dragon Sleeves or KMC?

not any more ... every KMC Sleeves pack that used to have 100 have only 80 from like 3 weeks ago ...
so the only good for EDH in terms of quantity are 100 Ultra Pro and Dragon Shields ..
