I made a flash review there. I basically stopped using them for 2 reasons a) they dull out the image quite a lot, b) foils are barely shining anymore, which annoys me for my casual decks, cube and such. However, I use them when I go to a sealed tournament, they make shuffle really easy and pleasant, and are adamant though.
Unfortunately there aren't very many vendors in North America that actually sell Japanese KMC Hyper Mat Premium unlike regular Japanese KMC Hyper Mat which are easily obtainable and are less expensive especially since they come with 80 sleeves with more colors to choose from instead of 50. Japanese KMC Hyper Mat Premium definitely has much better quality and durability than Ultra Pro PRO-MATTE (Non-Glare) which dings way too easily though I'm not sure about Dragon Shield MATTE since I haven't tested it yet.

In my experience KMC Hyper Mats with KMC perfect fit sleeve is the highest level. I have never tried to double sleeve with anything else. I use KMC for all my modern decks and feel very safe with the level of protection it offers. For cheap casual decks I use Channel Fireballs bulk sleeves that they sell on their website. I don't double sleeve those decks but I feel the sleeves are durable and strong they hardly ever split. Ultra Pro IMO are garbage. I would not use them for any reason. I see no reason to test anything else.
In my experience the most durable sleeves are the original Dragonshields, even more so than KMC Hyper Mat. I still use the KMC Hyper Mat Premium because they have the best shuffle-feel EVER, aren't glossy and don't attract dirt as easily as the Dragonshields.
The most expensive sleeves in the long-term are certainly Ultra Pro. They might have a low cost per unit but they need to be replaced so often that they end up being more expensive than high-quality sleeves.
I bought a pack of Fantasy Flight Games Game of Thrones sleeves (Stannis sigil) for my modern Jund deck. Did I make a bad decision in terms of sleeve quality?
I saw a guy or two playing with those for draft/sealed deck. They seem to hold up well for casual use. They were wavy at the top, not sure if that will bother you, or how long they were in use.
Report: Ultra*Pro Pro Matte. Black color, very thin, fairly easy to riffle shuffle, difficult to shuffle without causing dog-ears the way I normally shuffle*. Had 1 split, and then 1 tore, and a sleeve even put a small gash into another sleeve( sharp sleeve cut?).
Almost no durability, whatsoever. Take a worn out dragons hield and it doesn't pull apart, just deforms. These sleeves split super easy.
I have less than 48 now, so, draft decks only for them I guess. I do have a pack of white and another pack of black. I could mix the two black for a 60 card deck, but the white might only be trade fodder.
Final verdict: I will not purchase this specific line of sleeves for long term use. Acceptable for a weekend of sealed decks and draft but not much else.
I have a quick question. Has anyone used the dragon shield matte white? If you have could you see any of the card through the backside of it? thank you
I decided to use KMC Hyper Mattes double sleeved for my vintage deck. After the end of the tournament my hands were hurting and I actually had a papercut or two. Does anyone else find these sleeves a tad sharp?

One of my buddies has some sleeving his deck, and from what I've seen, you can't really see anything. His sleeves were pretty well-worn too, so I think that's a good sign.

Bushiroad has a lot of anime style sleeves. Unfortunately they cost a lot and are very poor quality. Probably not advisable to use without outer sleeves x-x

i must've bought an ugly pack of kmc hypermattes. the sides are a bit rough, a bit hard to mash and i ended up ripping the sides up of 4 sleeves over the last 2 tourneys. might switch back again to dragonshields...

No manufacturer is perfect - that is definitely an outlier. I have never had anything but perfect from them. I hope you give them another shot.
What's the word on the Dragonshield Matte sleeves? I've got a spicy modern Jund deck in need of some quality sleeves.
They're good. Pretty much stopped using anything else.

Thanks guys. It was between the Dragonshield mattes and KMC Hyper whatever the best KMC is. I leaned toward Dragonshields because there's a bit more room for the card at the top of the sleeve whereas that margin is very narrow in the KMCs.
Iam thinking about switching my 9 EDH decks all to one color of sleeves (dragonshield matte blue/black), do you guys think its worth the trouble?
Right now I use all the different colors of dragonshields...

I will say this, I have sleeved every playable (of course this is subjective) card I own in the same sleeves and I can say that it was time consuming, but it makes building decks down the line sooooo much easier and it makes moving cards between decks, especially if you only have single copies of pricier cards for EDH and have to move them around. For me, it was more than worth it, but ymmv.

I thought that the benefits would be just what Lyniss said.
Easy to swap, always have spare sleeves of the right type if one is dmg'd, always recognize what cards are mine (if I pick some odd color/type) after a game of edh, people dont pick the counter deck for mine when they see what Iam playing.
But I have no clue what to do with the old sleeves...
Lets see, maybe when there is some free time over the holidays
almost every deck i own has been sleeved in Dragonshield / KMC perfect fits, and i switched over to Dragonshield Mattes when they came out. i think KMC perfect fits are far and away the gold standard of inner sleeves, winn in both length, thickness, texture, and clarity.
i was back and forth between hyper mattes and dragonshields when i started playing, because i like the shuffle feel of matte sleeves but enjoyed the durability of Dragonshields (plus the fact you can sleeve four decks off of 3 boxes), but since dragonshield mattes have come out i feel like they are the best of both worlds. excellent shuffle feel and a durability that may not be as good as the originals, but is better the KMC hypers (although KMC mattes and DS mattes are comparable)
i recently tried hareruya sleeves after hearing the numerous raving reviews on them, and was rather disappointed. the packs i got were just to short for double sleeving. some inner sleeves popped out of the top, and in all cases the tops of the sleeves were not creating a seal because the inner sleeve was level with the opening. i honestly feel like the sleeves need to be a few millimeters taller. did i just get a bad batch or is this a common occurrence?

Almost as good as KMC Hypers.
Give me some reasons why I shouldn't.
Selling some cards I don't want.
Generally less than tcg mid.
Because they are low-quality and there are much better sleeves out there?

I plan on testing these sleeves on Friday with my new acquisitions. I'm glad that the feedback has been positive overall.
I never get art sleeves. If I want custom art on something, It'll be a mat. Much more durable and longer-lasting.
