I dislike sideloading pages, mainly because I find them harder to take things in and out of. I guess if you are going to jam ~4 sleeved cards in to a pocket, the sideloaders might be better. The clear Ultra-Pro pages can handle 4 cards in perfect fits, but with "regular sleeves" you are going to fatigue the pockets out. The sideloaders might be better for that.
This is for storing my collection so I wouldn't be taking the cards in and out.
I really advise you against whole blocks in a single binder. For example, I have Shards of Alara block in a single 5" D-Ring binder. It does not fit. Also, it's huge and cumbersome. Mind you, Shards has 249 cards, Conflux 145, and Reborn is 145. Newer sets are even bigger, so they are going to be incredibly difficult to put in one binder.
Big-Small-Small too big for a 5" D-ring binder? That's not possible. Even if you double-sleeved every card that couldn't be. Back in the day I stored the Onslaught block in standard pages, sleeveless, in a 2.5" 3-ring binder(made for schoolwork, not card pages).
I am pretty sure it was a 5" but I am not home at the moment to check. I'll post a picture of the beast when I do get home. Perhaps it's only a 4", but either way there are far too many cards in that binder for it to be at-all reasonable to me to store them that way. Eventually I'll be swapping mine into separates.
EDIT: Here is a picture, I was incorrect, it was a 4.5 inch binder but it barely holds the block and I don't even have a full 4x set of everything.
If you really feel that you can fit everything in to a 3.5 inch, more power to you. I tried and it didn't work though.
...you want to store entire playsets of blocks in single binders? I just want to store single sets of blocks in binders.
I apologize, I misunderstood your intention then, I thought you were storing playsets. Even single card sets though, I feel like 3.5 inch binders are unwieldy, but it's personal preference.

switched from KMC's to Dragonshields. I prefer the DS, feels better when shuffling. but i only got the blue as the turquoise/copepr were out of stock from my lgs.
I'm just going to give another bump for KMC's here. My big issue that I have had with Ultra Pro was that there was so much inconsistency in the sizing. I could buy 2 packs and they would have different sizes. I picked up 2 packs of KMC a year ago and enjoyed them - just ordered 10 packs and they match the ones from a year ago perfectly. I'm quite pleased with the quality control on them.
Do any of you guys use the ultra pro 150 plastic holders for your sleeved commander decks? What do you do about the "last card suction-stick" that seems to happen all the time?
But I have found the first batch of Hypermats were the best, that is the Clear and Black sets. I have actually managed to break some of my green ones but my clear set has lasted a year without a single break and I think there was just one criple that was eniterly my fault.
So I have these old blue sleeves that like the recent loading ready run vid were my "lucky sleeves" and were as old and battered.
Except I had no idea what brand they were.. I had only broken 1 in 4 years but critically losing one brought me to 59 sleeves... since it came in packs of 60 it couldn't of been dragonshield or KMC. My friend used to buy them for me online when I asked for new ones.
finally after all these years at prerealse someone pointed out how battered my sleeves were that he had never seen sleeves so old and I pointed out that I have no idea what brand they were that they weren't dragonshields since I only had 60 of them. He said Player's choice, that you can't buy them here. I mentioned I think my friend got them from Japan and he said definately players choice.
Anyone have experience with Players choice? They aren't sold in stores here anyone know where to get them online?
That FOUR is indeed pretty nice. Given the price-tag though, not as hot I've gotten used to counting off cards in sets by 3's at this point, looks like I'll just have to stick with the regular binders unless I ever see a liquidation sale on these...
Do Hyper Mat reds split as easy as the blacks?
Also, I heard they're slightly tighter so perfect size-sleeved cards slightly peek out of the sleeve after shuffling, is this true?
And how's quality control? Can I expect to buy 2 packs and all 160+ sleeves to be exactly the same size or are they inconsistent like DS and Ultra Pro?

I've never had an issue with a Hyper Mat sleeve splitting. I only ever replace mine when the wear becomes too great. I also find the quality control excellent, and frequently interchange sleeves from different packs (all of my tournament decks are in Perfect Fits and black Hyper Mats) with no issues. I also have no issues with the card "peeking" out after shuffling...I've never even heard of that. There is admittedly less space at the top when compared to other sleeves, but I've never found it to be an issue.
Disclaimer: I've only ever used black Hyper Mats, and I exclusively mash shuffle, so YMMV.
My 900 card cube, legacy, EDH and more are all sleeves in KMC perfect fits + hyper mattes and they're nothing short of awesome. I haven't had any inconsistancies. I do find they split more than the regular KMC mattes, but I like the backs of the hypers more and don't mind replacing a few sleeves now and then.
I'm sure this has been covered earlier in the thread but really don't want to read 127 pages worth of sleeve discussion
What type of sleeves give the card a darker matte finish? I found some anti glare sleeves online and assume thats what I'm looking for but wanted to check before ordering. Thanks in advance guys!

Does anyone know of a place where I can get card sleeves for a good price. I have a bunch of decks that I would like to sleeve up (I don't like to take decks apart) but I can't find any sleeves that are unique for a good price.
Also, does anyone know of a place where I could get custom sleeves made?
If you want to get sleeves for a bulk price, I know Potomac Distribution is a great place to purchase bulk sleeves. They do charge quite a bit for shipping, but if you compare unit prices to what store/LGS prices would be, the sleeves from Potomac are definitely cheaper.
As for custom sleeves, maybe Inked Playmats? Not too sure on that one. Also, custom sleeves are expensive, usually, and the art has a tendency to not remain on the card for long.

Agree on Potomac Distribution, bought Ultra Pro 82801 Magic The Gathering Protector 80 Sleeves per pack (70 packs) for about 450$ in the past including shipping and all
I suggest Potomac Distribution as well. And once you hit $150, shipping is free. I have gotten plenty of sleeves from them and never had a problem.
You can also look into eBay. There are some decent prices for bulk sleeves. Below is one of the better bulk prices but you can get fewer sleeves for a decent price on eBay as well.
Most sleeves with art are a nightmare to shuffle without damaging cards. Cheapmagicsleevee.com has matte sleeves with a tapered edge. They slide shuffle like a dream, almost as good as penny sleeves. They sell the matte blacks in 600ct for $35... You can't beat that
I'm not going to tournaments, I mainly play with friends who are just chill with whatever goes. So I want to only sleeve my expensive cards. Question is will it be easy to distinguish double sleeved cards from say on top of the deck? on your hand? or just looking at the library stack? I'm good as long as it doesn't ruin gameplay. No one's gonna go inspect every card i draw close up.
I got four EDH and a four 60-card decks with Ultra-Pro sleeves (all none-matte except for one deck) , so throwing them away would be a waste. Most of the double sleeving articles/youtube say to use dragon/kmc (perf. fit) or kmc/kmc. None however have said UltraPro/KMC. I was wondering if I could just get the KMC perfect fit for the Ultra-Pro sleeves I currently have.
I have looked at some posts. I some say yes some say not so much and matte will have a problem. So does anybody have experienced using UltraPro/KMC perfec fit?

I've played casual decks with only some cards double-sleeved before, and I can't tell the difference.
That being said, you probably still want to double sleeve your entire deck if you plan to play it a lot. regardless of how expensive the cards are. The reason is, that double sleeving your cards actually makes the outer sleeve bend less, and your sleeves actually last longer.
This is for storing my collection so I wouldn't be taking the cards in and out.

if you go to real tournaments some people may be picky if they find out that you only double sleeved some cards..
