So I have passing familiarity with the mirari but from what i do understand of the mirari its a very powerful artifact and that it seriously shifted the way mirrodin was through memnarch. Now that we've seen Powerful Artifacts shift through planes or make it possible to shift through planes is it possible that when glissa and the other guy turned and lost the mirari that it escaped onto ixalan and became the Immortal Sun to them after all it was described that "by a chance encounter the immortal sun was given to emperor Apatzec" could that have been a low level planeswalker stole it to prevent destruction on mirrodin he left it with them. It's a loose theory and i'll do my research to look into it but is it possible...we haven't heard about the mirari for sometime it absolutely could be but still just a theory....thoughts?
The Mirari was only created > ~360 years ago, and the Immortal Sun has been around for at least 800. So it seems unlikely. It's not a bad idea, and older lore timeframes aren't always the most clear.
It really does seem to be the Mirari. A consistent thing about it is that the Mirari is always sought after, wherever it is. And that's exactly what we're seeing with the Immortal Sun. Another is that whomever wields it is met with death. The conflicted nature of what exactly the Immortal Sun is and can do is in line with the Mirari mystery (it has the power to grant a heart's desire, but the user is met with death later) so its power suite being broad makes sense. Lastly, even Jace suspects it's not native to Ixalan.

Isn't that Mirari deactivated and lost on New Phyrexia?
Even if we're talking about the other probes Karn sent out, I doubt this is one of those, especially if we're hopping on the Ugin bandwagon.
Karn reshaped the Mirari as a sentient being, Memnarch. He named Memnarch as the protector of Argentum, and set off with his new planeswalker apprentice, Jeska, to explore planes unknown. Memnarch gradually became more self-aware, and eventually renamed the plane Mirrodin, also populating the hollow world with species from other planes.
After Memnarch's defeat, Karn returned to his plane and melted down Memnarch to his core, revealing the Mirari underneath. It was then left in Argentum in the care of Glissa, Slobad and Geth."
I doubt it is the mirari. It would be cool if it was a functional reprint though. I am having a hard time doing the timeline. I don't know what Slobad ended up. But glissa was last seen as a phyrexian. Geth was probably pro phyrexia at the time. The reason Memnarch went crazy was some droplets of phyrexian oil that leaker out of Karn. (Karns heart was pure phyrexian, stole back in Urza's day.) Glissa, Slobad and Geth, neither of them can planewalk. Kaladesh gate and old phyrexian portals are some of the few known way's to trave between planes for non planewalkers. None of those on Mirrodin. The Praetors would not get rid of it. That leaves Karn mostly, who could have gotten rid of itk, but it sounds dubius.

I have dyslexia, no I am not going to spell check for you, yes you have to live with the horrors of it.
Actually, Ghalta, Primal Hunger reveals exactly what the Immortal Sun is. See that type line "Elder Dinosaur"? Centuries ago, Bolas was wandering the planes and met a lady dinosaur. They spawned a few Elder Dinos before the relationship fell apart, and Bolas got kicked out of the plane. He wanted the ring back, but too afraid of his ex, he sent Vraska to repo it. That's right - the Immortal Sun is an engagement ring that Bolas got when "he went to Jared."

Actually, that's not quite right - it was an ethically sourced ring made out of 100% compressed recycled biomass from the Golgari's chain of jewelry stores. Vraska, being a representative thereof, was sent to repo it because Bolas went to Jarad.

I was hoping someone would spin off the Jared comment.

unless slobad has, since we last saw him ignited or handed it off to someone who could take it away from mirrodin because jesus we don't need the phyrexians to have the mirari, of course i could be totally wrong and the goblins destroyed it forever ago but i would definitely say that it's plausible

I mean. In 2011 we saw the Infinity Gauntlet in Odin's vault. Then Hela happened.

Like the time that Memnarch spent.."Eons and lifetimes." staring at the Blinkmoths at the start of Mirrodin?
I kinda hope The Immortal Sun has a potent but cheap activated ability, so that Mairsil can put it in a cage.
I am just like..so hoping it is like a cheap artifact that flips into..one of the absurd lands that they didn't make a flip version of in Ixalan, like cabal coffers that can be used with any basic land type.
i'm gonna be reaching a lot here so please just humor me a little
I've been doing some research into the mirari with this speculation and theres an interesting tidbit i noticed, the mirari was always described as powerful but it's forging is similar to other artifacts back on mirrodin namely cards like Caged Sun but wait suns are kind of important on ixalan, now what does the immortal sun look surprisingly like in terms of it's abilities 'nuff said....now i've heard a couple theories about the immortal sun and it's purpose on ixalan...One of the most interesting ones being that ugin forged it attempting to (and failing) to trap the eldrazi which is why it traps planeswalkers...so when we see the eldrazi there always on a plane with similar peoples....Vampires, stone shapers, and a group that makes one like itself (the Kor and vampires on zendikar, the vampires and werewolves on innistrad)....and sometimes these groups are introduced (nahiri on innistrad, ugin on zendikar) making me wonder if these are neccesary traits for the eldrazi to become interested in a plane after all these traits are shared with the three titans (Ulamog=sucking lif out i.e. vampire Kozilek Reshaping earth i.e. lithomancy emrakul=Progenitor creature)so heres where we're at right now
A long time ago on Ixalan Ugin/other progenitor species that has been killed of over time were on the plane which made it an interesting goal for the eldrazi....Ugin interested in the eldrazi is attempting to trap them on ixalan and steals a powerful artifact from mirrodin...the mirari, and with help from the merfolk on the plane and their ability to shape jade they shift the power of the artifact to a new purpose attempting to trap the eldrazi...the eldrazi escape and ugin attempting to follow them gets lead to zendikar leaving the mirari, now the immortal sun, behind there where it wreacked havoc until was locked away from the rest of the world

Could very well be one of those, with different effects than the Mirari.
But yeah, I think it being the OG is unlikely.

A nice flip land that would allow creatures to escape would be flippining into karakas.
ooh that would be fun, just alter the wording a little to "Legendary Permanent." make a planeswalker hosing card.

At the beginning of your draw step, draw an additional card.
Spells you cast cost 1 less to cast.
Creatures you control get +1/+1

Now we know why Planewalkers can't do their things in Ixalan.
Also, Bolas wants it
Also, Bolas has a Planar Bridge to circumvent the Artifact's Power.
Also, Bolas has an Army of Eternals
