This topic is for speculating on which PWs will join the Gatewatch in the future, as well as discussing recent additions.
Gatewatch has representatives for each of the game's five core colors, and as of AER will be adding Ajani to represent GW as a color pair. My theory is that the next long-term goal for Gatewatch is to add representatives for each color pair to round the roster out to 15, once for each color and one for each pair. In addition, I wouldn't be surprised if Karn eventually joined the team as a colorless representative, bringing that number up to 16. Tricolor is a little ways out, but Wizards could always throw a curveball at us.
I can just imagine Jace going nuts trying to find room for all those PWs (he'd probably encourage they at least headquarter on the same plane, if not necessarily in the same building *cough*Liliana*cough*). Somebody's gonna have to roomie. Ajani and Nissa seem like they'd get along well given their spiritual natures, I could see them meditating together and Ajani should be able to understand Nissa on a level she feels the others do not.
WUNarset Venser probably would have joined had he lived long enough to meet the Gatewatch. Dovin might have interest in protecting the Multiverse on a larger scale, but most likely he's been burned by the Gatewatch helping the Renegades rather than helping suppress them as he originally hoped they would.
Narset is confirmed to be friends with Ajani, which could help encourage her to join the team, and would probably love to use Gatewatch membership as an excuse to see other worlds and learn about them.
Domri may be of a more wild spirit, but he cares about nature much as Nissa and Ajani do, so I could see him being the RG representative of the team (not like Garruk's likely to join anytime soon, so the beastmaster niche needs someone else to fill it).
URDack Fayden Saheeli may have worked with Gatewatch before, but her artifact focus might make representing her regularly a bit tricky (not to mention working with the team doesn't necessarily guarantee that you'll join it). Ral Zarek may be a native of Ravnica, but he doesn't seem interested in dedicating himself to a larger cause and already disapproves of Jace running off to other planes when he has Guildpact duties to perform.
Dack's telemetry ability would make him a valuable asset to the team (not to mention keeping him close makes it easier to ensure he doesn't get up to real trouble). The biggest strike against this option is that Dack is already the focal character of his own series.
CKarn Ugin likely isn't on good terms with Gatewatch at the moment, considering the founding four destroyed two of the Eldrazi Titans which he explicitly did not want.
Karn is already dedicated to protecting the Multiverse, so it makes sense for him to join with those who share his goals.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Sorin is vastly too selfish and arrogant to entertain the idea of lowering himself to the state of relying on other neo-walkers. He thinks himself above everyone else, proven when Nahiri asked him to help her strengthen the Eldrazi seal. Liliana is only part of the team out of desperation to release her from her demon-pact and maybe fix her issues with the Chain Veil. I think he'll just be mega angsty and moody for a while, assuming he removes his body from a block of stone anytime soon - if he's successful at that he'll just chase Nahiri around to teach the kid a lesson.
If true, the interesting question comes in when you consider who could possibly fill the color pairs often (not always) left to those more villainous in nature, UB being the first that comes to my mind as none of the current UB walkers would have any interest in joining the Gatewatch. I believe the same can can said for BR and BG. WB is currently Sorin's spot to lose and will join if he feels it is the best thing for Innistrad.
Edit: I did miss Kaya as WB, but she doesn't seem like the type to join a team to protect things
For allied colors I could see,
UW- Narset.
RG- Domri or Sarkahn returned to RG. (Though I just have a feeling Sarkahns death could drive Narset to join.)
UB- It would have to be a new character, Ashiok would definitely not fit.
RB- Same problem as UB, honestly I can't see these two getting members.
For enemy colors I'd guess.
WB- most likely a returned Elspeth, but I'd much rather see Kaya, she may have left a man to die in her story, but she had a reason. Her sense of an eye for an eye justice would be an interesting addition to the team.
RW- I could see Koth getting this spot, or a new walker.
RU- I think Saheeli will encounter the gatewatch again, I'd definitely prefer her to Dak.
UG- I don't see Kiora joining now that the eldralzi conflict is resolved, and the only remaining Titan is sealed far away from Zendikar. Once again I feel like we'd get a new walker here.
GB- Vraskas definitely a no, but I could see us getting a GB "good guy."
I'd actually like seeing some new planeswalkers join, so far the only ones to join have been already established characters.
Also I feel that the more characters that join, the more likely it is that they're going to kill off one of the original members. Most likely one of the origin five for shock factor.
I don't think that we will be seeing Dack. Better let him fade away into nothingness along with those canceled comics.
I don't know if that will happen, he's been popular enough that they gave him a card when his comic was canceled and they featured him with the other walkers so I don't think he'll fade away.
Karn, Koth and Narset are the ones that I see joining.
Idk I see Narset as close to Tamiyo view point, more a scholar/explorer and not a warrior of peace.

"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
Domri may be of a more wild spirit, but he cares about nature much as Nissa and Ajani do, so I could see him being the RG representative of the team (not like Garruk's likely to join anytime soon, so the beastmaster niche needs someone else to fill it).
Arlinn actually wouldn't need DFC support off of Inistraad. It was mentioned in her first story one of her stories that she couldn't shift until she returned to the plane, so any off-world appearances for her she'll simply be locked into a whichever form she 'walked in just as she was locked into her wolf form the first time. (Wizards, it seems, thought about such possibilities ahead of time.)
Slightly silly alternate speculation: the Gatewatch doesn't top out at 16, but at 12: one for each of the "core" D&D classes. I mean, look at the team lineup so far:
Gideon: Paladin (or Fighter, I guess, but he seems more the Paladin archetype to me)
Jace: Wizard
Nissa: Druid
Chandra: Sorcerer
Liliana: Warlock
Ajani: Cleric
Which leaves...
Rogue: Dack or Kaya
Ranger: Arlinn or Domri
Monk: Narset
Barbarian: Garruk? (He's arguably more of a Ranger, but he's really the only existing PW that could fit this archetype)
Fighter (or Paladin): Elspeth?
Bard: ??? (someone new?)
...in all seriousness, I guess I just have trouble seeing the Gatewatch being pushed to having a character for every color pair - not when Liliana's such an odd fit already, and not when it's only been a couple of years since we got representatives for all 10 color pairs in general (and less than a year since we got up to 10 current reps, with Narset replacing the dead Venser, and Nahiri and Daretti replacing long-since-shifted Ajani and Sarkhan). More likely, further expansions would go toward filling a niche that the team was previously lacking, like how Ajani gives them a healer.
In that vein: Nissa covers the "nature mage" spot, which makes Koth unlikely, but any of Domri/Arlinn/Garruk could cover the "beastmaster" side of Green, which the Gatewatch doesn't really have represented. Beyond that, there's an obvious space for an artificer (Saheeli, Daretti, or maybe Karn) and a rogue-type (as mentioned, Dack or Kaya). After that, it starts getting tougher finding 'walkers that aren't too niche (fault-seer Dovin), but also don't overlap too much with existing members (elemental-magic-slinging Ral, martial combat specialists Elspeth* and Narset, life-draining Sorin)...and that's assuming they'd actually have interest in joining what's essentially a superhero team.
If Saheeli doesn't join in AER (and I kind of doubt she's going to join, given the lack of focus she's been given so far), I think the most likely next additions are Garruk (more of a recurring face than the other beastmaster-types, and the other Lorwyn 5 'walker left out of the Origins 5 has now joined) and, depending on whether we return to Theros or Ravnica first, either Dack or Kaya (who I have a strong hunch will be involved in RTRTR, given the set-up with the Orzhov's shenanigans). Or maybe someone entirely new, like a newly-sparked Amonkhet PW. (Personally, I'd love to see a RB character join because the people in the Gatewatch matter to them, even if their cause doesn't - the party member that sticks around solely because the party has become a family to them has always felt like a reasonable way to get an R/B character on the "good guy" team.)
*Elspeth's a bit tough, because she overlaps a lot with Gideon - who's recently been pushed into the "general"/leader-of-tokens role that she used to occupy - but she also makes perfect sense as a character who'd be willing to join the Gatewatch, especially given one of the few living people that she's close to has now joined as well. I guess it depends what kind of state she's in if/when she gets out of the Underworld. (Alternatively, she actually takes Gideon's place in the Gatewatch because something happened to him at some point in the story - maybe he tries to atone for his past history with the gods by offering himself in her place or something, I dunno.)
I sincerely doubt that. For starters we already have an allied color on Bolas' team, unless you're suggesting Tezzeret is going to die, making such a divide very unlikely. They also don't treat enemy colors as "bad/antagonistic" really anymore, I expect long run that they do plan to have all two color pairs.
Honestly I just can't see any way that Garruk would join the Gatewatch as long as Liliana is on the team.
I could potentially see it if maybe she reverses the curse on him, and has everyone convince him that she has "changed" and he would also help them find a way to destroy the Chain Veil so it can never curse anyone or anything ever again
or potentially after whatever "civil war" they have for the GateWatch, he could join the side that doesn't have Lili, or if Lili just plain leaves
his oath could go something like "to protect nature (or the creatures of nature) from those that would exploit and corrupt it (them)" or something like that
While they'll probably try to keep a general color balance in the Gatewatch, I think they'll add characters by personality types the group is missing rather than color pairs. Ajani fills the "compassionate, idealistic" slot, as well as adding a more mature influence to the group. 4/5 of the current members are in the mid-to-early 20s, after all, and Liliana certainly *acts* like she is. Ajani will be able to balance out and guide the others.

I think Ugin joining the Gatewatch may not be all that unlikely: if the Gatewatch is going after Nicol Bolas next, there is a real possibility of Ugin aligning himself with the Gatewatch for the greater good.
Nahiri imo is also a real possibility: she was the main antagonist of the SOI block all because of a misunderstanding. All that's needed to happen is for any one of the Gatewatch to pull her aside and tell her "Yo, Zendikar is safe." It's a such a simple solution that if WoTC wants to expand the Gatewatch roster, they'd be stupid to look past that possibility.
And given how simple it'd be to add Nahiri to the Gatewatch, it'd also be easy for her to go back to Innistrad and release Sorin. Emrakul is technically not finished yet, so there may be another return to Innistrad block, or Emmy escapes to terrorize another plane that would also involve Nahiri, and likely Sorin by association.
And right there, you've got your prime candidates for colorless, RW, and BW Planeswalkers to the Gatewatch.
Ugin would definitely not join the Gatewatch. Maybe use them for a bit, but he is very ancient and cunning. Just as cunning as Bolas perhaps. He definitely wouldn't join their organization.
I also don't think the Gatewatch will swell that big. 10 members seems about a right soft cap, with others leaving when others join.
For starters we already have an allied color on Bolas' team, unless you're suggesting Tezzeret is going to die, making such a divide very unlikely.
Tezzeret is literally Bolas's Starscream and will defect from the dragon any chance he gets.
Eh, but Starscream is still (typically) considered a Decepticon, or whatever they're calling themselves. Likewise I expect Tezzeret to be on Bolas' team until he dies, unless they're really going comic book and he actually does his own thing.
With Ajani joining the Gatewatch, I reckon he'll probably the only member who's also a member of another group, given that Tamiyo declined. With that said, I have doubts that Narset will join in, given that personality-wise, she's very knowledge-hungry, and not exactly someone who would swear a protective oath for the sake of learning (that by itself already sounds rather weird...). Then again to be fair, the Gatewatch, while seemingly duty-bound, aren't really that strictly-organized either, even if they are better-structured than Tamiyo's story circle, but still I don't see what kind of reason Narset may have to join.
Domri joining is possible, but I would like to discount that for now as he's a bit lacking in sense of duty. Being from a wild Guild doesn't help.
I actually would have loved to see Arlinn joining in; she fits the bill for the most part.
Kaya also is a cool addition, though given her mercenary-like situation, that may be a problem. Of course, Jace the Guildpact has his wages, so I guess keeping Kaya on a leash with income doesn't seem so weird.
Any of the three Eldrazi sealers will never join the Gatewatch, ever. Ugin has a personal... vendetta, I guess we can call it, against the Gatewatch for screwing his plans, Sorin is too haughty for that (I still can't believe he enlists Olivia's help at all), and Nahiri have probably gone on her merry ways with probably no interest in helping anybody now that her homeworld is dead (she never knows) and her business with Sorin concluded.
Anyone related to Bolas will never join or be accepted by the Gatewatch for obvious reasons.
Sarkhan's interest in joining the Gatewatch depends on whether Narset joins and also whether the Gatewatch can convince him they're ok with his dragon worship. Either of these two being a no means he's not gonna bother. In fact, merely due to his dragon worship mindset, it's very unlikely he will be interested in being a subordinate to an organization that is not dragon-centric.
Kiora is homebound, so no.
Koth is a good addition as well. If he ever manages to get over his problem with the Phyrexians (whatever that may be), he probably wouldn't mind joining.
Karn.... I don't think so, if only because his ancience makes it a bit unwieldly for him to become part of an organization led by younger folks.
I think that Nahiri has an additional reason to not join the Gatewatch. (Or anyleague of planeswalkers really.)
Think about it. She's already been a member of a Planeswalker club, and what did it get her? Millennia spent playing warden to eldritch beings while her home plane suffered their corrupting influence, the apparent disregard of those very planeswalkers who were supposed to be there for her, 1000 years locked in a hunk of magical silver by her supposed friend and ally, and her home plane destroyed by the very entities they were supposed to contain.
If anything I'd expect Nahiri as a Gatewatch antagonist just out of pure spite.

Our roster so far:
W Gideon
U Jace
G Nissa
R Chandra
B Liliana
GW Ajani
Other candidates I think are promising:
WU Narset
Venser probably would have joined had he lived long enough to meet the Gatewatch. Dovin might have interest in protecting the Multiverse on a larger scale, but most likely he's been burned by the Gatewatch helping the Renegades rather than helping suppress them as he originally hoped they would.

RG Domri Rade
Of the RG PWs we currently have, one was villainous and is currently dead, one may not be RG next time we see him, and one requires DFC presence so for mechanical reasons she probably won't be a regular presence in sets.
Domri may be of a more wild spirit, but he cares about nature much as Nissa and Ajani do, so I could see him being the RG representative of the team (not like Garruk's likely to join anytime soon, so the beastmaster niche needs someone else to fill it).
UR Dack Fayden
Saheeli may have worked with Gatewatch before, but her artifact focus might make representing her regularly a bit tricky (not to mention working with the team doesn't necessarily guarantee that you'll join it). Dack's telemetry ability would make him a valuable asset to the team (not to mention keeping him close makes it easier to ensure he doesn't get up to real trouble). The biggest strike against this option is that Dack is already the focal character of his own series.
