According to the newest story, some kind of a matter transporter was invented on Kaladesh, presumably transporting the items through the blind eternities. That means just a tiny step to an interplanar portal. Not having such portals is by the way is literally the one single thing keeping the Phyrexians from infesting the Multiverse. So what do you think will be the consequences of this discovery? There will be consequences, that's beyond doubt...
My guess is that Return to Kaladesh will be the start of a multi-block New Phyrexia storyline. But they could just be stolen by a planeswalker this block though (Tezzeret perhaps?). I don't think that we are going to see New Phyrexia invade yet though because Bolas will be the villain of the next block.

An all-out invasion would probably be a bad idea, as it would lead to something very similar to the BFZ fiasco. Slow infiltration with Phyrexians adopting parts of Kaladesh aesthetics and such would probably be better way to execute it. They could even show the beginning on a few cards, giving them slightly altered look and maybe something like "you can pay X life instead of paying mana cost/activation" as a "disguised" phyrexian mana.
Bolas is probably interested if he doesn't have it yet because it gives his non walker agents on other planes more freedom. Some of those beings can live quite long and be useful elsewhere.
The phyrexian a would love inter planar portals again, although Karn mentions she traveled to several planes. I think a bread crumb trail for the gatewatch of backing into potentially infected planets would be interesting. Getting Melira on a interplanetary trip could be vitally important.
The gatewatch may be interested in them? Although I doubt it due to the inherent risks.
The ravnica guilds would really like something like this and it's a clever way of expanding a world with other feeling/areas of two worlds are linked at multiple points. Two sets per block is a very narrow venue for a narrative like this.
Maybe the eldrazi can sense things that travel through the blind eternities? Planeswalker a are small individuals...but when you start mass transferring armies and spaceships you may get other interested parties. Not sure if we know if there are other eldrazi yet or not.
Isn't there an interplanar phyrexian ship chilling in Venser's workshop?
Venser was working on an interplanar ship, but died before he could complete it. I don't believe it's ever been mentioned what happened to it, or even how far along he was with the design/construction.
If they actually finish the whole planar travel thing it has to be phyrexia. This leads me to believe aether revolt could be a lead up to a phyrexian invasion or another theory I have is that Nissa some how awakes the world and it goes crazy.

SonofaBith - Wizards was so excited about making the packaging for Modern Masters 2 recyclable, they decided to make most of the rares and all but 1 of the UC's recycle-bin ready too. Convenient!
If Phyrexia is going to invade Kaladesh (and it's a very big if, mind you) then it is definitely going to be something for the future. It won't happen in this block.

The weatherlight was able to travel between planes.
Apart from that I think Bolas could have sent Tezzeret to Kaladesh in order to get this technology because he could be building up an army on Amonkhet (the ranks of the Worthy) wich could be a interplanar threat with that technology.

Yes, there was the Weatherlight, also Parhelion (The Boros angel's skyship) was stated as being designed as an interplanar vessel (we have no confirmation that it ever worked). I was merely answering Ajduk's question.
Honestly I don't think Tezzeret/Bolas' involvement in Kaladesh has anything (originally) to do with the teleporter. Remember, Tezzeret has been on kaladesh for a long time and the teleporter only just got invented literally the day before/of the fair. There's no way they could have really known in advance that the device would even exist.
Yes I might have expressed my thoughts wrongly. Of course Tezzeret was already on Kaladesh before this invention but he could have informed Bolas anyway wich could lead to that mission.
