So after being trapped in stone and now that the Jacetus League has saved the day what is next for the vampire planswalker? Or is this going to be the last we see of him?
Most likely Ugin will free him, so that he returns the favor. By that time vengeance will have consumed Sorin as well, and we will get the BR Sorin we deserve. Though monoB is also an option.
He probably stays trapped until Emrakul is released from the moon. By that time, they will need someone with experience in fighting the Eldrazi, and Sorin will be freed. Or the same reason for fighting Eldrazi in another plane.

The secret to enjoyable Commander games is not winning first, but losing last.

Well, given how Planeswalkers aren't as powerful as they were. It's either going to be a painful experience, or because his prison is also magical which makes it harder for him to try and Planeswalk away.
Well, the only beings who actually know Sorin's location are Olivia, some of her bloodline, and Nahiri. None of them seem inclined to free him, and any remaining markov vampires (who might be interesting in reinhabiting the manor) have basically renounced Sorin. I don't think its likely Ugin will find him, particularly if he's still researching eldrazi bits on Zendikar. He had sent Jace to look for him, and that deal my or may not still be in effect with Ugin deciding to no longer work with Jace. Jace also may stop looking for Sorin now that Emrakul is bound. So for now, it seems our vampire friend is there to stay.
However, Sorin not being able to escape seems like bullcrap to me. If he really was in so much pain that he couldn't concentrate, how could he have coherent conversation with Olivia? Elspeth managed a planeswalk while being impaled by an obliterator, which should have been comparable in pain to the stones in Sorin's stomach. Planeswalkers in general make their first planeswalk without even thinking about it due to trauma. Because of those examples, I just don't see how Sorin could not manage to escape. If a moment of extreme emotion, like the rage and grief that Sorin must have felt then, can ingite a planewalker's spark and start their first planewalk, you would think that Sorin could simply leave on sheer force of will.
I assume the best excuse they can come up with is, yes, the impalement is magical. I mean, considering that Nahiri knows a lot about magical stone-crafting (not to mention how she stripped Nixilis of his planeswalkerhood with a stone restraint), it's possible they'll use that as an excuse. The most merciful they can give Sorin, thus, is that Nahiri uses whatever she learned from imprisoning Nixilis to destroy Sorin's spark or something. Dunno.
Given the latest treatments to Sorin by Wizards recently, I'm afraid the most merciful thing that may happen to him is to be driven mad by Emoonrakul (should I think of a better nickname? I think I should; that was stupidly cheesy ) and join forces with her to destroy Innistrad, I mean, after all, he has all but given up on Innistrad's prospect of salvation, right?

Well, Emrakul seems to need a replacement for Ulamog and Kozilek. So, how could we replace a devourer of worlds? Oh look, a vampire planeswalker, all helpless in a stone prison, already half mad, ready to be reshaped...
Personally I think that he is going to spend his time regaining his strength and learning the nature of his prison before breaking out on his own. Perhaps we'll see him regain some of his former strength as he learns to tap into the plains mana through the prison, or sum such. I could see him becoming a kind of replacement for Avacyn if that happens...

Given that back when he was all-powerful he got severely drained from making Avacyn, the amount of strength he would need to become Avacyn's replacement would be likely beyond his grasp now. Plus, given latest situation, I'm more worried that if he did break free, he'd end up attacking Zendikar. Either way, poor guy has astronomical chances of turning into an actual villain if he doesn't starve to death first.
This was the saddest result of our return to Innistrad.
It seems every PW I get attached to get carbon freezed. Bye Elspeth, Bye Sorin
He will return but not the same I fear. I just hope its not Bolas or Tibalt who find him before an ally does...

Quick note, during the novel Time Streams, Kerrick prevents Urza from planeswalking away by using his captured sparrow engines to continually tear Urza apart from the inside, as Urza must spend too much energy and concentration on staying alive that he has none leftover to planeswalk. He eventually is able to overcome it with assistance from Multani, who is able to energize Urza enough to planeswalk (and he planeswalks INTO Kerrick, exploding him. Time Streams was *****in'.). Urza, not just an old walker but the most powerful old walker, is stopped by the same sort of mechanism that Sorin is by Nahiri. I'd actually be surprised if Creative wasn't drawing on this when crafting Sorin's imprisonment.
Now, Nahiri left Sorin with a great view of Thraben so he could watch Emrakul destroy his plane. I imagine that the moment Emrakul was trapped in the moon was followed by deep, mad laughter ringing out in the shattered halls of Markov Manor.

Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!
Hopefully nothing. Sorin is a despicable character, the worst kind of BW in my opinion. I'm sure we'll see him again at some point, WotC hasn't 100% undisputedly killed off a planeswalker character since Venser (Unless you guys count Vronos?), and Sorin has some history, so while I think we'll be taking a good, long break from him, I do think he'll pop up again at some point.

I think we can just go ahead and discount Vronos from any and all future discussions of planeswalkers. He was essentially introduced just for Garruk to kill him (srs bsns), and I would honestly guess that the vast majority of MTG players don't even know he even existed.
I don't think we've seen the last of Sorin. I think they'll keep him around, even if just to drag out his plotline with Nahiri.
