Helvault trap things in statis
Hedrons trap stuff in statis.
Nahiri made the Hedrons out of Zendikar.
Helvault is made of Silver.
Innistrad's moon is made of silver.
Nahiri disappears.
Tamiyo takes interest in Innistrad's moon and the fact it is made out of Silver.
Sorin wanted to help stop the Eldrazi out of wanting to perserve Innistrad.
Emrakul left Zendikar.
All of these are facts of varying importance...... it seems the logical conclusion is some form of Eldrazi are imprisoned on Innistrad, but we know wizards wont make 2 eldrazi centered blocks back to back..... so my theory is theres something dangerous trapped in Innistrad's moon.... ideas?
I... don't think that's a logical conclusion at all.
First of all, the methods for the Helvault and the Hedrons to 'trap' things are completely different. And there is no reason to believe the Helvault can trap anything but beings made of pure mana, like Demons and Angels.
Second, Innistrad's moon has been hinted at being part of the reason for how Innistrad functions, it affects people. I imagine this next set will focus on the secret of the Moon and/or the Veil.
Now, using Innistrad's moon to trap the Eldrazi would be kind of cool, but it seems like something they would have thought of millenia ago.
I certainly think it's fair to speculate that the moon has a secret and will be a major part of SOI's story. The trailer we've seen features it prominently in the background as the feather changes and the gravestone/monument of Avacyn's collar are warped. They also made it a point to specifically cover the moon and its relation to the plane in the Planeswalker's Guide last time we saw Innistrad, and generally creative doesn't spend that much time on something like a moon unless it is actually important. Also in the most recent art on the main page at Wizards of Jace and the ghostly face behind him, I can't help but wonder if that face is purposefully in the spot where the large, glowy moon would be. Not saying that face is the moon, but perhaps its supposed to be evocative of Innistrad's moon? If that choice was intentional, then maybe it does hint that there is something trapped on Innistrad's moon...
Of course, it's also possible I'm reading too much into it and the moon is only prominent in the trailer because it looks pretty and atmospheric and nothing more.
I am glad to see this thread, I think that the moon will play a very large part in SOI. I am wondering if Nahiri will be involved somehow, but the cast is quickly assembling and I'm not sure she will fit in quite yet. We have Jace, likely Liliana and Sorin, and possibly Garruk, Tibalt, and tamiyo all involved with this plane. I think the Nahiri plotlines might have to hold off for a bit, and I would love to see her as pharaoh-type figure in the Mezo-american or egyptian themed blocks on the short list. (with hedron pyramids)
I do not think that they would put Eldrazi on Innistrad, and hopefully it will be another force at work here. I am trying to look at the bigger picture and piece together what it could be, but I am not sure that we know enough at this point to put together major plot points or progression. I like the thought of the moon having an effect on the Veil and those who have been involved with it. Liliana and Garruk both could be around, too. Seems like a natural fit.
I really like this theory. Clearly there is A Thing with that moon, and "giant uber-Hellvault" is as good a guess as any.
Interestingly, if it is true, it might even get to stay shut. After all, we've got a bunch of villains released from their Evil Can on the loose now, and the last Innistrad block ended with an Evil Can opening. As opening another would be redundant, having one stay closed this time could be a change of pace.
