The current storyline for Sorin is that he has to go retrieve Nahiri from wherever she is.
Next set is Innistrad, and I don't think they would have an Innistrad block without Sorin in it.
I also don't think they would have Sorin show up on Innistrad again without having something relevant to do for the story at large.
Nahiri isn't dead, she's missing.
Sorin's really guilty about it though.
It was never explained how Sorin was able to magically spawn an all-powerful Angel to watch over his entire homeworld. That was always outlandish.
Sorin somehow used Nahiri to create Avacyn, going along entirely with his apparently very selfish, yet lawful character. Sacrifice the friend to put a watchdog over your home plane. Boom.
Give me another $100 come April.
Brought to you by the guy who predicted BfZ happening.
No it doesn't. In the original Zendikar block, Sorin was surprised and concerned that neither Ugin nor Nahiri showed up on the plane. If he had previously turned Nahiri into a non-planeswalking angel, why would he be confused at her absence?
I also don't think they would have Sorin show up on Innistrad again without having something relevant to do for the story at large.
Like the last two times he showed up in story? He fought the biggest chump to ever have a spark in Innistrad block, and gave Ugin a status update in Tarkir block. His superpower is showing up late to the plot.
It was never explained how Sorin was able to magically spawn an all-powerful Angel to watch over his entire homeworld. That was always outlandish.
It was before the mending that he made Avacyn. 'Walkers were nigh-omnipotent back then. Making something like Avacyn is child's play compared to making entire worlds, which multiple oldwalkers did.
Sorin somehow used Nahiri to create Avacyn, going along entirely with his apparently very selfish, yet lawful character. Sacrifice the friend to put a watchdog over your home plane. Boom.
Nahiri was supposed to be the watchdog for the Eldrazis' prison. She can't do that if she's stuck on Innistrad.
Brought to you by the guy who predicted BfZ happening.
Everyone predicted BfZ. Rise of the Eldrazi ended on a cliffhanger. Obviously WotC wasn't just going to leave it at that, and 6-7 years after the original block seemed like a good time to return.
Sorin knows where Nahiri is, if he was "surprised" about her absence in the original Zendikar block it was due to bad or pre-revisionist writing. There was half an Uncharted Realms where he starts sweating when Ugin asked him to produce Nahiri.
rest of the counterpoints fail to be counterpoints
Sorin knows where Nahiri is, if he was "surprised" about her absence in the original Zendikar block it was due to bad or pre-revisionist writing.
This isn't some ancient piece of MtG lore written long ago under a completely different creative team. It was written six months before the story where Sorin dodged Ugin's questions regarding Nahiri's whereabouts.
Your Nahiri-is-Avacyn theory doesn't gel with the line "Nahiri was gone and her silence disturbed him," considering the fact that when he left Innistrad, Avacyn was fine.
rest of the counterpoints fail to be counterpoints
Just because you turn a blind eye to the holes in your theory, doesn't mean they go away.
Despite your denial:
We still have no guarantee that Sorin will show up or be relevant in Innistrad 2.
An oldwalker creating a powerful creature out of literally nothing is still wholly unremarkable. (Serra did that, too.)
Sorin sabotaging the protection of the Eldrazis' prison simply to prevent some ******** vampires, who don't like him anyway, from letting their own gluttony wipe out their food source still doesn't make sense.
Your prior prediction is still unimpressive, and it's still irrelevant to the accuracy of your current prediction.
Maybe Nahiri died so he used part of her to make something in Innistrad (not Avacyn since Eldrazxi thing happened like only 6000 years ago, right?) or to heal her there or something. He can also go along with the plot point of forcefully purging the memory from his mind until it became relevant.
Also, I'm sure he would want to go back, even if only for a moment, to see how his plane is doing after all the crap that has been going on in partially resolving the issue (at least, that is where the story stands so far, right?). Also possible that in doing so some traces of Nahiri who was in his plane popped up. Maybe she went there to try and meet him because she had other thigns to do first. Or maybe it is just coincidence. :/ At the moment nearly anything can happen but things super crazy are the least likely to happen since this is a tame story line that doesn't have too many absurd things happen.
At the very least maybe he just has another appointment there he has to take care of before going on with his mission.
Also, what if Nahiri is the Raven Man and Liliana goes back to Innistrad and that is where he/she meets her to offer their help, and Sorin just ends up there as well.
nahiri is actually volrath shapeshifted into avacyn. boom. mind blown.
anyway, thats about as plausible as nahiri being avacyn. it really just doesn't make any sense and theMarc explains why perfectly. they are all valid reasons that show the holes in the theory, like them or not.

I was tempted to give this theory a chance, but this arrogant response of yours shot it down by itself.
We do not know the precise timeline of Avacyn's creation and Nahiri's awakening. That would be able to disprove the theory by itself.
Also, you probably do not understand what "pre-revisionist" means.

I think there's every bit of chance that Nahiri and Avacyn are related/one and the same. What bugs me is that we're might see another iteration of BW Sorin again. He made almost no sense for KtK, shouldn't deserve a card IMO and now makes more sense in Innistrad.
But back to the point. Sorin has been reticent and coy about the issue, and based on the amateur writings of the Uncharted Realms you can't help but feel something's up.
The point against Nahiri being Avacyn was that she's a Kor. But we've got a Moonfolk in Innistrad, plus we've Tibalt turning half-devil, Ob Nixilis becoming a full-fledged demon. It's not impossible for Nahiri to "become" an angel. So long as Creative "justifies" it I suppose.
The Helvault too, looks eerily similar to a hedron, and that might make more people suspicious. I would wanna think that Nahiri had visited Innistrad before, and maybe had a hand in helping Sorin creating this balance (between good and evil). Or be part of the balance.
What makes sense so far is that we know Ob Nixilis hates Zendikar, especially Nahiri for entrapping him there. Nahiri may or may not hate demons, but it makes for a special tension/connection considering Griselbrand's feud with Avacyn. Perhaps this is how Wizards are gonna connect the dots.
Who created the Hellvault? All I have found so far is that it is assumed to have been part of the moon. While a rough giant block of silvery stone, maybe Nahiri had something to do with it? It would be a reason to go back to Innistrad if the creator of the hedrons also played a role in helping create the hellvault meant for trapping demons. They are both rocks meant for trapping evil.

No, it is quite impossible for them to be one and the same. Uncharted Realms outright stated that Sorin was surprised that neither Ugin nor "The Lithomancer" (a.k.a. Nahiri) didn't show up when the seal was damaged in the original Zendikar block by Jace, Sarkhan, and Chandra. That means that the last time Sorin saw Nahiri she was still a planeswalker, which would make it entirely impossible for her to by Avacyn, whom is a mana construct created by Sorin shortly after he ascended to prevent the vampires of Innistrad from eating everyone.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
We do not know the precise timeline of Avacyn's creation and Nahiri's awakening. That would be able to disprove the theory by itself.
During the UR where the trio seal the Eldrazi, one of Ugin's lines implies that Sorin had already created Avacyn. And Nahiri doesn't know about it.
[Ugin] peered at Sorin.
"And Sorin, you of all people understand the necessity of balance."
The remark struck [Nahiri] as pointed, but she didn't know enough of Sorin's past to say for sure.
Sorin said previouslly that he coudn't sense Nahiri's presence implying he din't know where she was.He only said to ugin he might now where she is and he was worried because Innistrad is quite dangerous so he feared for her. He's not stupid to do something to her because shes important in keeping the Eldrazi at bay.Hr's selfish but not stupid he knows that Nahiri is an important asset so he definitly would have kept her safe.
Nahiri helping to create the Hellvaut seems plausible tough.
Nahiri awoke at least a thousand years after she sealed the Eldrazi with Sorin and Ugin. Sorin had definitely created Avacyn by that time, so Nahiri and Avacyn are not the same.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.

Ugin who is literally the spirit of the plane of Tarkir

Nissa has a connection to Zendikar in the actual spirit of the plane
Demon Walker
Ob Nixilis
Possibly over the next few years Garruk
Devil Walker
Tibalt
Goblin Walker
Daretti
Vampire walker
Sorin Markov
Angel walker
Serra is dead.
Thus this leaves that since no demon has a soul to get a spark nor an angel can get one because they are created. This leaves that Sorin ascended while he was becoming a vampire. On Nixilis was a human walker that over time became a demon. Garruk is corrupting into a black/green demon. Whereas Sera was an angel and now dead. Dragons have souls so don't have issues becoming walkers. The real limit is Angel, which is a popular figure and something that has not be used yet.
Avacyn:
1. Rosewater hinted that Avacyn rhymes with "have a sin" and that may very well mean that Avacyn is a reconstructed Nahiri
2. Nahiri being "recycled" into Avacyn gives us a few problems:
A. Kor aren't immortal nor long lived, this creates the "Liliana and Nicol Bolas problem" for rapid aging. You have four choices
-be a dragon and "deal with being really ancient"
-be an ancient woman and sell your soul to get a new body "The Liliana Solution"
-become something that doesn't expire easily-> Sorin and Ob respectively
-not be something that doesn't age at all-> Karn not having the problem at all
So this basically leaves "Liliana Solution" for Nahiri getting a new body, but probably not. There is also the preservative method for having her inside of a hedron and just chilling there like Ugin did.
This leaves the most dramatic option for "the selfish being" did something stupid that he regrets, namely that:
1. Avacyn is a recycled Nahiri or somehow she fused Nahiri into Avacyn so we get Avacyn with the ability to awaken "Nahiri" inside.
2. Nahiri is a vampire chick with angst issues, and we're going to major angst and Twilight over Innistaad.
Personally I'm hoping that Avacyn is in part or fully is Nahiri. Rosewater said that Avacyn didn't really have a personality, whereas Nahiri did have a personality was very caring about people. So that Avacyn is the programmed personality, while the real personality is what we saw with Nahiri long ago. So whenever we see the awakening of the Nahiri personality, we have:
1. All parts of the trinity are now immortal under the Bradywalker system
2. We have an angel walker, finally
3. Sorin Markov finally has Bella or Beaufort depending on what Twilight novel you read.
-
Avacyn is seen as Sorin's creation, not daughter. Which is like Urza to a Metathran, and that it required a Rayne to push him to think of them as his children rather than machines. Sorin, though, isn't even hinting on that fact, which may lead to him seeing her as both his creation and equally a curse. He never interacted with Avacyn in any of the scenes. This is what creates a large portions of the problems to see the Sorin-Avacyn relationship. We simply do not know enough about how they interact with each other.

Or creative lives up to their name and comes up with a previously unseen method for Nahiri to have somehow survived this long. She'd more likely have crafted a body out of metal or stone and transferred her soul and spark to it than to be "recycled" into an Angel. Or perhaps she drinks Elixir of Immortality to stay young and fresh?

The whole "Nahiri is Avacyn" theory is flimsy and there exists much stronger evidence against it, namely that Avacyn existed well before the Eldrazi were sealed and she was created before Nahiri awoke a thousand years prior to ZEN block's events, pretty much confirming the entire theory as false.

Serra was an angel themed 'walker that never got turned into a card.
Nahiri is an equipment Kor based 'walker in her first iteration.
Flimsy, not generally as the theory is abstract enough to morphologically and chronically be correct.
So let us take your theory as fact.
What we do know:
1. Nahiri went looking for Sorin
2. Sorin did something block and headed
3. Ugin is trying to play janitorwalker right now on Zendikar
4. Jace is going to Inistad next. Why? To find Sorin to find Nahiri
A. We have been foreshadowed that Sorin is a very "selfish being" sans Ugin
5. Something "bad" is happening on Inistrad.
So we take that into place, not arguing you about the time stamps.
Now we get into my hypothesis:
First of fact that a planeswalker can become something "else" and lose their "planeswalkeriness." We have two such examples:
1. Karona, False God who was the fusion of Akroma, Phage, and Zagorka. When Karona died, Jeska went Super Sayain errr... Planeswalker
So we have two different times where one character a "pre'walker" that through a Captain Planet move became Karona and then eventually was split off from the other creatures and became Jeska again. Only PW Jeska. The second was that Xenagos became Xenagod and then apparently died (or did he?).
So as we can see here we make two presumptions about "magic" in "Magic:"
1. These people are like Digimon or Sayains, if you need more clarification I can explain but the above examples should show the fluidity of change according to story.
2. A planeswalker can become a non 'walker through special events while still maintaining a spark or a pre-ignited spark and at least in ONE occasion maintain the ability to Planeswalk
So now what do we know about Avacyn:
1. She's a construct without much of a personality, and was created pre-mending Sorin
2. Sorin created her
3. Her power fluctuates based on "needs of humanity" and has limits to where she can go around and curbstomp evil
4. She's about balance of the "Force" not making sure the "Light Side wins"
So what we know about post-mending 'walkers:
1. They're not not immortal
2. They need to become undead(ish), be a construct, get more life points (Liliana method), or just be a dragon that lives a really long time
What we know about Kors:
1. They have a limited lifespan
2. They can manipulate rocks very well
3. Nahiri is a Kor
4. They have white hair and white skin
What we know about Nahiri:
1. She is missing
2. She went looking for Sorin
3. Sorin thinks he knows where she is, and the next block is Inistaad
What we know about Avacyn:
1. She has an unlimited lifespan
2. She has white hair and white skin
3. She's on Inistaad
4. Something is foreshadowed in the trailer
Then we also have to contend with:
1. Tibalt isn't a "true devil," he's a tiefling that fused with devils, since devils can't be true planeswalkers
2. Nixilis is an old walker, but they can't make demons walkers. So he had to be mutated through a curse to become a demon
3. Karn is a construct, but has been given two sparks that allow him to planeswalk
4. Sorin is a vampire, but vampires can't become 'walkers except through his special form of vampirism that his Uncle made up that struck him and he was able to become a 'walker
With that said we have seen three different examples in order to get a specific 'walker type into the game following their own required four different methods:
So with that said, Tibalt was able to fuse with his devils to become Tibalt 2.0. We can have a pre-existing construct, say Karn or Avacyn, give them a spark and they will become a planeswalker. You can fuse beings together to make a different entity such as with Karona to become a different thing altogether, in this case an avatar. Or you can have an ascended 'walker become something else, in this case a god.
So right now, the theory stands to test. Right now we have the issue with a Kor lifespan, there are a few ways to solve this problem:
1. Go into rocks and hibernate
2. Become a vampire
3. Fuse with something else more powerful to become something else
4. Transfer your soul into a rock monster
The first is what Nahiri on record has done, and it takes to task that she will probably do that again. It's a safe venture. The second is that she becomes a vampire, because Sorin's "selfish."
The other stands to support my theory is that she is Avacyn for some particular reasons:
1. This gives us the angel 'walker for branding purposes
2. Solves the limited lifespan problem
3. Nahiri was the protector of Zendikar, with her the protector of ISD now this would open up room for Nissa to take over. With Navacyn remaining on ISD to "Balance the Force," and be with her BFF Sorin after they kiss and make up
It's rather obvious they're 'shipping Sorin and Nahiri at least as good friends, and he did something stupid. Stripping her of her old self in order to preserve her would add up rather quickly by fusing her with Avacyn would power up Avacyn while preserving Nahiri.
Based on looks, Avacyn is white skinned and white haired with eye shadow. Nahiri has short hair and a lithe build. So to save Nahiri he just fuses her with Avacyn. Avacyn has white sclera and other aspects that can move her "Nahiriness" away post fusion. Equally, a fused character is possible in Magic.
Occam's razor says she's in hibernation or a vamp chick with angst.
Creatively says she's Avacyn.
It's not a flimsy theory, it's grounded in lore and aesthetics and is certainly possible for a post-mending Nahiri to be fused with Avacyn.
I can adjust this a thousand different ways to sure up the theory based on previous rules working with established paradigms and time zones. Until we get the "Avacyn is not Nahiri" and we get the real explanation, the theory is valid as one possibility.
Another theory from Naruto that provided one of the major villains identities with Tobi:
Obito was Tobi, it was just that stupidly pointed out several times that people didn't believe it. Until after the final arc said that the Obito/Tobi theorists were correct. It was a plot twist in a plot twist since it was so obvious.
That's what other fodder in this theory. Keep debating, adjusting the theory to be less flimsy is good.

Life is a beautiful engineer, yet a brutal scientist.
Avacyn being Nahiri is a terrible Theory, on many different levels.
But again, as has been repeated here and in all the other threads created for this asinine theory, Avacyn is mentioned as being created centuries after Sorin became a planeswalker, which was over 6,000 years ago, and Nahiri only disappeared in the last few centuries. 1,000 years ago at most if they retcon when she implanted Ob Nixilis with the Hedron, which he states in Dreamed of the Damned was centuries before.
Further, almost all the angels on Innistrad are pale. Many have their hair covered, but this one amd this one pretty clearly show other pale angels with white hair. It appears that each flight of Angels has the same hair color as their leader, with Archangels having white hair (A lot of Archangels tend to have white hair). They're also pale. It doesn't make them Kor.
Creatively, Nahiri being Avacyn wouldn't follow on ANY of those 'fusion' or transformation theories. Every single transformation makes narrative sense for the character. Tibalt becomes a devil because he already is one inside. Sorin's specific brand of vampirism was an excuse to create a vampire planeswalker. Ob Nixilis, similarly, became a demon visually because he was a cruel and capricious characters. Karn doesn't really count, as his planeswalker-ness gets into some pre-mending mythos that gets complicated. Changing their only Kor, only equipment matters character into an angel makes no sense, for Nahiri or for Avacyn. It doesn't improve either character, and it would feel cheap - a reveal for a reveal's sake.
What about the possibility that Sorin used Nahiri to replace the original Avacyn?
Something happens to the original, Innistrad loses its protector while Sorin is gone, and when he comes back he sees a similar situation to the one when Avacyn was locked in the Helvault. He takes Nahiri from Zendikar (because the Eldrazi have been dormant for a long time at this point, and Sorin has been quoted as saying that he only cares about Innistrad) due to her resemblance to Avacyn. He casts an illusion spell on her, makes her look like Avacyn and makes her forget her former life, and that's the end of it.
Anyone familiar with Heroes will note that it is very similar to what Peter and Angela did with Sylar. Wiped his mind, and transformed him into a double for Nathan.
What about the possibility that Sorin used Nahiri to replace the original Avacyn?
Something happens to the original, Innistrad loses its protector while Sorin is gone, and when he comes back he sees a similar situation to the one when Avacyn was locked in the Helvault. Because that isn't what happens, for one thing. We know exactly how Avacyn got into and out of the Helvault, and this theory doesn't jive with that.
Also, because Sorin wouldn't be surprised that neither Nahiri or Ugin showed up when we first met him on Zendikar. If Sorin had done something to her that would have permanently prevented her from getting to Zendikar, he'd be reacting differently to quite a few events.
Flimsy, not generally as the theory is abstract enough to morphologically and chronically be correct.
Flimsy, yes, as the theory is founded on presumptions that are veritably false as can be proven by official story material. That right there should be the end of it.
1. Nahiri went looking for Sorin
2. Sorin did something block and headed
3. Ugin is trying to play janitorwalker right now on Zendikar
4. Jace is going to Inistad next. Why? To find Sorin to find Nahiri
A. We have been foreshadowed that Sorin is a very "selfish being" sans Ugin
5. Something "bad" is happening on Inistrad.
So we take that into place, not arguing you about the time stamps.
Oh, so we're going to conveniently ignore the single biggest piece of proof that this theory is false? Sorry, but that's not how theories work.
So we have two different times where one character a "pre'walker" that through a Captain Planet move became Karona and then eventually was split off from the other creatures and became Jeska again. Only PW Jeska. The second was that Xenagos became Xenagod and then apparently died (or did he?).

2. A planeswalker can become a non 'walker through special events while still maintaining a spark or a pre-ignited spark and at least in ONE occasion maintain the ability to Planeswalk
For starters, the Mirari saga is considered a nadir in Magic storytelling due to how inconistent it is with established canon, especially as it pertains to Karona. Per the Controversy section:
"Within the storyline fans, there are many questions regarding the exact nature of her experiences with Teferi, Serra, and Yawgmoth.
In Teferi's case, in the Time Spiral novel, he told Freyalise he had never met Karona, and when doing so, she saw him as a god of white mana, which isn't Teferi's main domain.
In Yawgmoth's case, in the Planar Chaos novel, Lord Windgrace told Karn he had made sure the Yawgmoth was truly dead after the Phyrexian Invasion, and therefore he couldn't be alive to meet Karona.
In the Homelands comic, Serra wasted away, having chosen death over life without her beloved Feroz.
Most fans agree that these contradictions are either explained by her precarious state of mind, that she actually created these hallucinations herself, or that Karona met with alternate reality versions of these various characters."
So citing anything from Onslaught's storyline, especially Karona-related, is not a good way to strengthen your argument.
As for Xenagos, he never stopped being a planeswalker, they just had to represent his god form as a nonplaneswalker legendary creature card to keep in line with the rest of the God cycle.
2. They need to become undead(ish), be a construct, get more life points (Liliana method), or just be a dragon that lives a really long time
Or there's an explanation we haven't heard yet. So far, the "body of stone or metal" sounds the most plausible to me.
1. They have a limited lifespan
2. They can manipulate rocks very well
3. Nahiri is a Kor
4. They have white hair and white skin
What we know about Nahiri:
1. She is missing
2. She went looking for Sorin
3. Sorin thinks he knows where she is, and the next block is Inistaad
Sorin thinks he knows where Nahiri is? Then she's not Avacyn because if she was Sorin would know where she is, he would remember that he had created Avacyn from Nahiri. He's not senile.
Stripping her of her old self in order to preserve her would add up rather quickly by fusing her with Avacyn would power up Avacyn while preserving Nahiri.[quote from="Frostdragon4 »" url="http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/magic-fundamentals/magic-storyline/storyline-speculation/645066-story-speculation-nahiri-is-avacyn?comment=20"]
No, actually, if there's a chance he could vampirize her without killing her per se then that's a more likely explanation of what happened, though still very flimsy.
[quote from="Frostdragon4 »" url="http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/magic-fundamentals/magic-storyline/storyline-speculation/645066-story-speculation-nahiri-is-avacyn?comment=20"]Based on looks, Avacyn is white skinned and white haired with eye shadow.
Except that the lore has outright disproven it. Avacyn certainly was not created from Nahiri as can be verified by Uncharted Realms and if Sorin had somehow fused Nahiri with Avacyn he wouldn't be confused as to why she didn't show up on Zendikar when the Eldrazi were breaking loose, he would know damn well that she was fused with Avacyn. This theory is veritably false.
Okay, so an anime completely unrelated to Magic had some kind of un-twist. That has zero impact on Magic itself.
The idea of Nahiri fusing with Avacyn makes no sense. She went looking for Sorin, somehow wound up on Innistrad at some point, and asked Avacyn if she could crash inside her for a while until he showed up? That kind of reveal wouldn't create one of those "AHA!" moments that reveals are supposed to, it would make most people go "WTF?" and kill any dramatic tension.
Nahiri remained a pre-mending planeswalker up until the Mending about 200 years prior to the present day, so she wasn't exactly in a rush to preserve herself when she first left Zendikar to look for Sorin. Evidence points to them having met someplace at sometime, leaving Sorin with an idea of where to look, and with something happening to Nahiri that caused her to disappear. In all likelihood that's going to be the basis of its own block with perhaps a reveal at the end of "Fears" as to what plane Nahiri is on.

PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Oh my God, why is this thread still going? Nothing that has been said in support of this theory has disproven the points I made in the second post in this thread. Seriously guys, if you can't even manage to address the very first counterpoints made in an argument, then that's a good sign your theory is indefensible crap.
Like the last two times he showed up in story? He fought the biggest chump to ever have a spark in Innistrad block, and gave Ugin a status update in Tarkir block. His superpower is showing up late to the plot.
It was before the mending that he made Avacyn. 'Walkers were nigh-omnipotent back then. Making something like Avacyn is child's play compared to making entire worlds, which multiple oldwalkers did.
Nahiri was supposed to be the watchdog for the Eldrazis' prison. She can't do that if she's stuck on Innistrad.
This isn't some ancient piece of MtG lore written long ago under a completely different creative team. It was written six months before the story where Sorin dodged Ugin's questions regarding Nahiri's whereabouts.
Your Nahiri-is-Avacyn theory doesn't gel with the line "Nahiri was gone and her silence disturbed him," considering the fact that when he left Innistrad, Avacyn was fine.
Holy crap. Sorin's acting suspicious. He's never done that before. This changes everything.
Also, what if Nahiri is the Raven Man and Liliana goes back to Innistrad and that is where he/she meets her to offer their help, and Sorin just ends up there as well.
also here is a timeline since i guess that has a lot to do with this issue. http://mtgsalvation.gamepedia.com/Timeline
anyway, thats about as plausible as nahiri being avacyn. it really just doesn't make any sense and theMarc explains why perfectly. they are all valid reasons that show the holes in the theory, like them or not.
Let this great clan rest in peace (2001-2011)

Nahiri helping to create the Hellvaut seems plausible tough.

Dragon Walkers:
Ugin who is literally the spirit of the plane of Tarkir
Nicol Bolas
World connect 'walkers

I was sceptical at first but this compelling and well thought out argument convinced me.
Nahiri is Avacyn, confirmed.
Serra is not an Angel. She created the Angels of her realm, but she herself was always human. Read her article so you have proper information.
How the flying feather does Avacyn rhyming with "have a sin" have anything to do with the flimsy theory that she's somehow a "recycled" Nahiri?
Or creative lives up to their name and comes up with a previously unseen method for Nahiri to have somehow survived this long. She'd more likely have crafted a body out of metal or stone and transferred her soul and spark to it than to be "recycled" into an Angel. Or perhaps she drinks Elixir of Immortality to stay young and fresh?
Dear gods, let's hope not. We don't need angsty Twilight vampire BS in a card game already riddled with fandom drama.
2. Xenagos, the Reveler through long standing plans became a god Xenagos, God of Revels
1. Fusion (DBZ method)
2. Curse (Werewolf method)
3. Thing gets cool upgrade (Data getting emotions method)
4. Something goes wrong prior to ascension (Sorin Method)

Also, because Sorin wouldn't be surprised that neither Nahiri or Ugin showed up when we first met him on Zendikar. If Sorin had done something to her that would have permanently prevented her from getting to Zendikar, he'd be reacting differently to quite a few events.
And, I can't stress this enough, Sorin thinks that Nahiri might have been the one to almost kill Ugin, which makes NO SENSE with this theory. This story is from earlier this year, which means they knew they would be revisiting Innistrad when it was written.

Not the same thing as an Angel Planeswalker.
Flimsy, yes, as the theory is founded on presumptions that are veritably false as can be proven by official story material. That right there should be the end of it.
Oh, so we're going to conveniently ignore the single biggest piece of proof that this theory is false? Sorry, but that's not how theories work.
Or there's an explanation we haven't heard yet. So far, the "body of stone or metal" sounds the most plausible to me.
Sorin thinks he knows where Nahiri is? Then she's not Avacyn because if she was Sorin would know where she is, he would remember that he had created Avacyn from Nahiri. He's not senile.
