Okay, so according to the Mothership, Magic: Origins will be taking place across ten different worlds, one of which (zendikar) we already know about.
I want to jumpstart the speculation on what the other nine worlds are. We were told a bunch of them will be brand new, but I'm wondering which planes we'll be revisiting.
based on the PWs we'll be spotlighting (Jace, Gideon, Nissa, Chandra and Liliana), what are your guesses as to where we'll be going?
Zendikar (they've told us, also Nissa's homeworld)
Ravnica (Jace is currently there, Gideon as well probably)
Shandalar (Liliana got the Veil there, it's been in several plot points)
Regatha (it's one of Gideon's earliest planes and has been visited by Jace and Chandra as well)
Unnamed home planes of one or more of the walkers (specifically Chandra and Liliana's wiki articles mention unnamed home planes)
It's also likely that we'll see other recent popular planes, including Mirrodin/New Phyrexia, Tarkir, Theros, and Innistrad. Lorwyn is also a possibility given that three of the five were first seen there.

The planeswalkers were a part of the Lorwyn SET. Not of the lore, in the slightest. No planeswalker was part of Lorwyn/Shadowmoor story.
On the other hand, the only planeswalker confirmed to visit Lorwyn is Nissa Revane, who is said to spend some time with the Gilt-Leaf. So Lorwyn is possible as part of *her* story.

I thought they had all traveled there for various reasons involving the Aurora. Kind of weird that they'd show up in the set if they were never on the plane.

They weren't supposed to debut in Lorwyn, but in Future Sight but didn't make the cut at the time.
So they ended up getting put into that set to accentuate how different they were.
I'm... not certain about leaving this open. I don't think we're going to see many worlds we already know aside from Zendikar. The second world is going to be the FIRST plane they planeswalked to, which eliminates a lot of potentials of where they've been. Regatha, Shandalar, and Ravnica are all much later in the walker's travels. There is absolutely NO way we're going to do Mirrodin or any of those. Lorwyn is possible for Nissa but...
There is simply nothing to work with to give us a good handle on what we'll see, but only what we aren't likely to see.
They said that "most" of the planes in Origins are planes we've already seen and that "some" will be new or planes that have only been mentioned before.

If that's so, probably Jace, Gideon or Liliana is native of some plane we already know. (The article confirmed Chandra's home plane is an 'entirely new' one).
It would still fit if the four remaining home planes were new ones, and all five 'first visited' planes were established ones (so 6 old and 4 new), but that doesn't look like a good mix.
Shandalar is a good guess. Technically a known plane, but not explored much so more flexible. I could see Jace or Gideon being from there. Fiora would be similar in that aspect.
IIRC, the only places we know Nissa visited are Lorwyn and Mirroden. Do we know which one she visited first?
She also visited Ravnica for a few seconds.
From the wiki we know Nissa was very young when she became a planeswalker and her Lorwyn adventure was when she was older and was going on a journey to see other places before she became the leader of her tribe.

Actually, considering since it's 1/10th of the set, Kamigawa actually stands a reasonable chance of returning here as someone's first plane traveled to (Since none of the 5 are clearly from Kamigawa). There's no way Origins will sell badly because it's 1/10th Kamigawa and MaRo is very aware of the small community that wants Return to Kamigawa.
I'm inclined to believe if Kamigawa does return, it will be for Liliana since she's the only oldwalker of the 5 and it's probably safer to reference Kamigawa from 600/700 years ago in a main set. On top of that, Kamigawa has Oni and being a more unique type of demon would probably make for a better background for Liliana's story. I know she didn't make her pacts until the mending, but I think her history would involve the knowledge of demons and their pacts. Kamigawa's strongest Oni managed to Oath-outwit the ancestor of the person who sealed Bolas. I like the links between Liliana and Kamigawa in terms of Demons/Oni, Pacts/Oaths and Breaking/Outwitting them.
I don't think Shandalar is related to early-Liliana, she took long enough post-mending to find out about the Veil from there, so I don't think she's that familiar with the plane as a whole.
Surprised no one mentioned Dominaria, a post-mending walker travelling there would tell us more about post-mending Dominaria, considering we haven't returned there since the Mending itself.
Dominaria would definately be a possibility, but honestly, I think due to the massive scope of the plane it would be better suited to its own return block, in my opinion.
However, there are some planes that would greatly benefit from the framework set by Origins. Since each plane will have only a 10th of the spotlight, you can even do weird and quirky planes, or even unpopular settings without dragging down the whole set. This is why I think it would be the perfect opportunity to bring back Kamigawa and Lorwyn. Kamigawa, because there's a considerable niche group of players who want to see it back and Lorwyn, because we still haven't seen it in its merged Shadowyn form, so that'd certainly be something interesting to show. Will Wizards seize this opportunity? We'll see.
Also, would Mercadia still be on the table or has it been throuroughly corrupted by the Phyrexians in the meantime?

We saw a glimpse, albeit a very tiny one, of Mercadia in Future Sight. It looked fine.
The only real reason we have to think Mercadia was corrupted in any fashion was from Scourge and that has become increasingly dubious if not outright contradicted as time goes on.

I'm curious, what was the glimpse we got? I can't think of a card from the top of my head.
As for the corruption, I was thinking of that because wasn't there a phyrexian hangar inside the mountain?

Well, in terms of cards we had Ramosian Revivalist, but I was actually talking about the fact that Bolas and Leshrac battled in the skies of Mercadia above the oceans.
As for the corruption, I was thinking of that because wasn't there a phyrexian hangar inside the mountain?
I'm honestly not sure if the Phyrexians built the hangar or if that was something the Mercadians already had, in which case they were just renting space to the Phyrexians. I'm inclined to say that was the case, but I don't have any actual proof.

The idea of Phyrexians bargaining for rental prices amuses me to no end.
If Jace, Chandra or Liliana got Lorwyn I'd be happy with that.

Also, the flavortext for Desperate Stand from Journey Into Nyx: Gideon Jura looks a lot like an Anglicized version of Kytheon Iora.
There were multiple cards featured in the trailer from Zendikar (already confimed), Ravnica, and Innistrad, plus one from Alara, possibly one from Fiora (not all of the Conspiracy cards were set on Fiora, but it was the Conspiracy art for Breakthrough, one unknown (Spirit Bonds), and one I didn't recognize (the one with the plant growing in the person's hands). So Ravnica and Innistrad feel like they could both be fairly likely destinations (especially since they're already fairly popular planes).
Gonna bet on Gideon being a Theros native, Chandra 'walking to Ravnica, and...do we know who the first demon Liliana made a deal with was? Because she could 'walk to Innistrad and make her deal with Griselbrand then, potentially.

Spirit Bonds is supposed to be from Shandalar, I think, but it could easily be used in the trailer even without portraying one of the actual planes featured in Origins.
Lil' Gideon's spear and clothing make him pretty obviously Theran. But it's weird that he doesn't have the darker skin tone they used for his Funko figure.
