I didn't know the Leviathan Bolas slayed was actually a PW. I didn't even think a Leviathan could be a PW. Interesting... I wonder what it was like. Perhaps a Leviathan the same way Wrexial is a Kraken? Where is looks like it could do more than just swim but actually had appendages or something? Still, imagining it as being sentient is odd too, but interesting.

In fairness, it was more than just a leviathan.
It was a demonic leviathan (which has all sorts of its own questions and quandries...).
Compleation doesnt require a thought directed process. It need a host and a carrier. Which gore vassal is. Moot point as the spawn need the titans presence to live.
Maybe bolas has plans to "eat" them like he did the mana in the maelstrom. Doesnt seem very likely, as his forte is grixis, but it seems possible the unbound mana of the eldrazi could be used by someone of sufficient knowlege (maybe ugin was working on a similar plan, hence why bolas laid him out) Bolas doesnt like direct confrontation. Maybe dealing with ugin before ugin could do the same was bolas' reason for such an appearance. He was the only one to have a plan if the rift issue spread. Seems like an entity that existed before time might satify a 25,000 year old thirst for power.
He plans from the shadows and prefers to let his underlings march his plans forward, then take the brunt if they fail.
Actually, does the possibility exist that the brood can exist in "non-physical form" as well? It's implied that Ugin was the only one (we know of) that knows of the Eldazi's existence when they were in "non-physical form" and that was after he did extensive observation and research. Seeing Ugin had to "show and explain" the Eldrazi to Sorin and Nahiri and that Bolas needed to extract the information from Ugin during the Crux meant that the titans couldn't be "sensed" by oldwalkers unless extensive observation and research was put in.
I didn't say the brood travels with the titans (In fairness though, I wasn't detailed enough on that point). I was implying that everything visible on Zendikar actually happened on other planes, except they follow the same concept of the Titans intanglibility (without the travelling part). Emrakul moves to plane, manifests "non-physical" brood to digest the plane and then the "non-physical" broods are left to die afterwards. No one sees the process at all. The process was probably sensed by Ugin, but he might have them deemed along the lines of a process as opposed to a brood.
We know the Brood is used as digestive mechanism. Likely Ugin knew it, but what he couldn't have possibly known that the digestive function can also function as a "attempt-to-escape" mechanism as well. (Considering the Eldrazi were never trapped until Ugin did it, how would Ugin know beforehand?)
This theory largely stems from the fact the Titans have no reason (I know they don't operate on reason, but still) to change their "eating" tactics between all the other planes and Zendikar. Ugin, for one would be aware if the digestion process changes every different plane.

The thing is, we've seen the retcon already in effect. Nahiri and Sorin were battling the brood on another world as it literally unraveled around them.
Hey. Here's an idea. Maybe Bolas is trying to manipulate the elderazi for a multi-planar conquest. And if he has interest in the phyrexians, he could do that as well. I don't know much about the lore, and I want to get into it, but those are my thoughts. I'm going to start a forum for something like this. Can someone also point me to a good source for lilianna cess and what she's been up to
Did the mending had any effect on the Eldrazi Titans? I know the mending changed the nature of the spark but was the effect limited to the spark or does it had a wider effect on how beings interact with the blind eternities? I'm just curious since Bolas interest in the Eldrazi could be something along those lines.
We don't know. It has never explicitly stated that the mending affected only the spark and only the spark alone. Rationally it makes a lot of sense that other aspects of the multiverse changed too, since the laws of nature are interconnected and you can't pull a thread without at least influencing others.
BUT
The point still stands that we truly don't know. The only confirmed information is the change on the spark, so everything else has to be classified as mere speculation.
