Apparently Sorin and Ugin were more friends of each other than I assumed before. So does that also applies to the Lithomancer (Nahiri or whoever else)? Then maybe she(?) could be the one who created the Helvault - a huge chunk of stone/metal used to banish/imprison creatures is really close to the Hedrons' form and function. Maybe it was done as a personal favor to Sorin?
We should also note that the Helvault was silver, not stone.
More than likely it's somehow from Innistrad's moon.
Yes, but my idea was that an oldwalker lithomancer could take a chunk of the moon and turn it into a hedron-like object. Even if said moon is made of silver not "stone".

So much is unclear about the Lithomancer's powers that it's impossible to say if this is even plausible, given that the Helvault was made after the Mending (the anti-demon campaign apparently took place entirely in Mikaeus's lifetime, though it's not known how long it was between the bindings having started and the final battle between Avacyn and Griselbrand).
It is a pleasing theory, for sure, considering how similiar the Helvault is to the hedrons in form and function.

...except the Helvault is a big rough-hewn chunk of sliver streaked with dark "mortar" and the hedrons are intricately carved stone forms, so other than being big and oblong they don't look anything alike. Compare:
The short answer is "This is baseless speculation."
Back on topic: More likely Avacyn made the Helvault, or at least an Innistradi Angel.
Well, Avacyn is the one that decided to use the Helvault, but in actuality, nobody knew where it came from.
It was a chunk of silver that fell from the sky, but there was very little explanation for it.
I want to say there was something weird and significant about the timing of when it fell, but I'm sort of loathe to go to the mothership after the redesign.

Trapping the Eldrazi is like summer camp. You have to promise each other to stay best friends 4ever before you leave for home.

Dont make fun of BFF or you will burn in hellllllll!!!!!!!!
but on topic doug said it:
Avacyn engaged each demon in single combat, defeating them one by one. She found that new demons would appear a short time later and decreed: "What cannot be destroyed must be bound." She then forged a collar of silver to bind demonkind, so they could be hauled away and imprisoned. The Silver Collar became Avacyn's symbol and the holy symbol carried by Avacynian priests and cathars.
One by one, Avacyn and her host of angels captured the demons, imprisoning them in a huge mass of silver that came to be called the Helvault. Said to be a piece of Innistrad's silver moon, the Helvault sits in the cathedral yard in the High City of Thraben overlooking a cliff's edge and the sea beyond. Stories say it and Avacyn first appeared on the same night, and it remains the most holy object on Innistrad after Avacyn herself.
This makes me think that Avacyn and the helvault came to inistrad at the same time ( And if i remenber right sorin created Avacyn of inistrad moon ( and the helvaut could be the 'rest' of the material used to made avacyn)) or some time later ( maybe she picked it and placed it on tharaben ).

No, he used certain beliefs and legends to craft the concept behind Avacyn, he didn't literally make her out of the moon.

Missed that bit of information. Food for thought, then. Thanks.
